Pool service, pool construction, pool anything is a literal mine field in the desert with danger fraught everywhere. So, I called Richard, Pool Tile Cleaning, and he came out for an estimate which was direct and no nonsense. I had two other estimates which seemed to come as a result of the word«SUCKER» tattooed on my forehead. They attempted to sell additional services other than a simple acid wash and tile cleaning AND the work would be done by some unknown unsupervised laborers. Richard performed the work himself, ably, was on time and cleaned up afterward. Richard had the best estimate; not rocket science. Richard’s is the first such service performed on my pool and I would hire him again. That cannot be said for most of my other pool service encounters within the past two years. As a followup, 28 April 2014, it turns out that the acid wash removed the staining but ALSO too much surface plaster resulting in an even uglier more uneven appearance in texture and color… I couldn’t have known; but I think I wasted $ 250 of the $ 500. I had even worse proposals at even higher pricing… I give up… The desert here IS a desert when attempting to hire qualified fairly priced service personnel for literally anything/everything. When I cleaned the filters they were clogged with tiling cleaning gunk and, I presume, plaster residue…
