Brian Maurer Photography

Brian Maurer is not only an exceptional photographer, but has the sense of responsibility and follow-​through that we all want to find in a business. I saw Brian for a necessary professional headshot photo and his instructions during the photography session were very specific and helpful to me as a first-​timer.
The corporation requesting the photo had difficulty with receiving the file, since they had an older computer sytem. For more than two weeks, Brian worked with me and the company to ensure they received what they needed. I was extremely grateful to Brian for all his repeated efforts, which were ultimately successful! A true professional.

Our staff was in Palm Springs for business, and we decided to get some professional head shots and group pictures. Brian was very accommodating and came to our hotel. He took some nice indoor and outdoor photos, which we were extremely pleased with. He was pleasant to work with, very affordable, and got our photos to us very quickly.

I had the good fortune of working with Brian when he shot family photos of my very large family group just after Christmas time while we were visiting Palm Desert. I found him via Unilocal,and I am very glad I trusted my instincts. Our group of approx. 30 consisted of four different family groups, and he took batches of photos of each. We also had him take shots of a few larger groups (grandparents with grand kids, one whole large family with siblings, cousins, and more).
The whole time we were having the photos taken, Brian was kind, easy going, and patient. Ours was a well behaved group, but we are vocal and fun, so getting all of us to settle down and focus on the task at hand isn’t a simple thing. Brian allowed us our fun while calmly instructing us on how to pose. Everyone in our group agreed that Brian was a good sport.
Ultimately, the proof’s in the proofs (ha, just made that up. .. a photography joke), and Brian’s photos of our family are terrific! All who got a CD of the shots and have viewed them rave about the clarity, background (taken at Marriot Shadow Ridge in PD) he chose for us, and overall excellent quality. There were absolutely NO complaints!
Finally, Brian’s fee was very reasonable — especially when the quality of the photos and his calm demeanor are factored in.
If I ever needed another photo shoot while I was in the Palm Desert area, I would not hesitate to give Brian the job.

I needed a headshot for a website biography. I am not in least bit photogenic but Brian did a great job in helping me get the right pose, the right smile and to look my very best. The photographs turned out really well. In fact, I couldn’t just pick one and ended up with three pretty nice shots that I can use for other professional marketing pieces.
I’d highly recommend Brian. He has reasonable rates, takes his time to get it just right and has a real eye for what works. He’s also a super nice guy!

I needed a publicity photo for a book that is to be released soon, called around for quotes, and Brian was among the most reasonable. Plus, he seemed to have a handle on what I was looking for with regard to imaging, etc.
On showing up for my appointment, I walked straight in to his studio. No lobby or reception area — there you are. After getting the lighting, etc. arranged, he took 40 shots, which on examination I eliminated half of them. I don’t claim to be particularly photogenic. From there, it became increasingly difficult to choose. His direction on how to pose, how much to smile, etc. worked wonders on these shots. I finally was able to choose one, and I am very happy with it.
If you’re looking for a good photographer for portraits, I don’t see how you could go wrong with Brian Maurer. He also does weddings, etc. and would assume he’s just as good. As an amateur photographer myself, I know that 90% of getting a good picture is having a good idea of what a good picture is supposed to look like. And Brian has a good eye for great pictures. Hey — if he could make ME look good, he can make YOU look good.
