This is bookstore has a lot of snacks to help you get through the day, a little pricey, but that’s what you get for a campus store. They have all the books you would need for classes or they will order it for you. I try to limit the use of buying books here because of prices, but when I do need to go through the bookstore they never fail me. I’ve always had good customer service from the cashiers, but just recently had rude attitude from one of the student workers. They also need to set up their checkout line better, since people don’t realize there’s one line for all registers… including the registers away from the line!

I’ve always had a pretty pleasant experience here. I think since the last review the staff has changed. I’m pretty sure they treat foreigners better because I was stuck behind an Egyptian guy while I was buying paper(they didn’t have the kind I liked at Target). They were having trouble finding him in the system and he looked distressed so they busied themselves reassuring him and asking him about Egypt(probably a bad way to go considering the current events but whatever). I can’t say much for the order or neatness of textbooks, because when I go they get my books for me.

No, I’m not rating them low because of their jacked up prices or crappy buy-back prices. That’s standard at college bookstores. I’m rating them low because of their staff and management. Yes, I had a slight(teensy weensy) disagreement/issue there. Shit, I was hot. I was ready to throw down. So I walk in with my Korean cousin. It’s his first day on the campus and second day in the U.S. He was here for the Intensive English Academy(oh that not so friendly review is coming soon). I came with him to make sure he got everything he needed, and as we’re perusing the bookstore to find his books, we finally get to the unmarked section. What do we find? Complete mess. Book stacks were messy. Many were stacked over the wrong label/price/class tag. Some were missing these tags. I started organizing the section just so that I could figure out which books my cousin was supposed to be buying. 45 minutes later, no one has helped us. There are also three other IEA students joining in the hunt. As for helpful staff? Nope. They’re all at the front chatting away. Finally, we get all the books he needs and walk up to the cash register, where there is no line, but the two girls working there are too busy chatting to acknowledge us. So I take his books and walk up to them. As she’s ringing us up, I politely tell her that it would be helpful to check and fix that section since the students purchasing these books are foreign students who have limited English proficiency. Her response: blank stare, pause, um, ok, I’m sure it’s fine. Gee, that’s helpful. As I’m walking out, I see an old lady who works there and decide to try again. I proceed to tell her what happened, and she keeps cutting me off to tell me that they have exceptional customer service and always help people within minutes. Okay, let me try again. No. Then she says she’s sure it’s fine. Oh hell no, what the fuck. I went off. Seriously, what are they there for? And I was biting my tongue for so long, so don’t try saying that I scared them at the start. I was nice and sweet(yes, it’s true). But they wouldn’t listen, and they didn’t give a shit about the international students or non-English proficient students. Gee seems to be school policy.
