James Carona is a fraud. He requested the art to be shipped out to Palm Springs to Heather James Gallery because he had a «client who wanted to see it». At my own expense, I had the piece shipped out there. James called me and made up a story as to why he wanted to keep the piece overnight, which I politely declined. He then asked me if he could take a picture of the piece stating, «my client can’t come but I need a great picture of the piece». I was very apprehensive about this, but agreed to this, yet, implored him not to send it out. We spoke and he gave me his word he would not, under any circumstances, send the piece to anyone. We literally talked about the sensitivity of this for 5 minutes. Cut to: This FRAUD sends a mass email to his collectors list, many of which I know, with a picture of him standing near my piece offering it for 275,000 which happens to be 115,000 more than I quoted him. I’ve added pictures to their Unilocal page depicting/proving this. You know what they say; pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. Aside from the horrendous reputation this gallery already has, this egregious pig is only hurting himself and the great Ed Ruscha by doing this. Irony: he’s still sending this email and pic out and the piece is hanging on my wall at my house. James Corona and Heather James Gallery = FAIL, DISHONEST, GREEDY.

What an amazing space and collection. Went to the opening last night to find so many artists showing(I wish I could remember them all. I’m a novice when it comes to art). I was thoroughly impressed with their collection of both Picasso and Miro. James, the owner, could not have been more kind. Thank you for bringing this to the desert. I will absolutely be back…(now, to save up $ 300,000 for the 3 Picasso pieces I fell in love with).

Wow… it’s better than a museum! So many amazing paintings in this gallery. And antiquities. Could not believe that I was seeing a Damien Hirsch, a Picasso and a Cassatt! Stop by soon, it’s really incredible. Knowledgeable staff, great experience.

What a terrific space. We attended an artist’s reception(Nov 2012) and had a ball. The Lawrence Schiller was on hand signing copies of his books and talking about his great photographs of Marilyn Monroe. Staff was very knowledgeable about specifics of each photo as well and offered great back story about Marilyn and her photos. It’s funny the gallery staffer recommended I have a look at Yoshio Ikezaki’s work(how did he know I was a Japanophile?) I’m not a huge fan of brightly colored art but these spoke to me. Ikezaki told me that one of the trees was from a scene in an area that was heavily impacted by the tsunami. He said about one tree, that it was a fiction from his mind, an amalgam of two different trees. I told him it looked exactly like the ancient bristlecone pine trees that are so striking and out of this world.
