Duke is the man. Freshest fish you will find around and the thai is great too. Duke takes pride in everything he does and it shows. He knows almost every customer by name which should tell you its good, as people keep coming back. The DB on here with one star clearly eats Publix sushi.

So we were looking for new sushi places, and I legit live 5 mins away from this place and it’s been there since the Cuban missile crisis with the same faded«Japanese Restaurant» sign so I decided to stop by and all I gotta say now is that this is probably the only place I’ll get my sushi from great vibes, nice décor, and amazing customer service. I’m hooked like a piece of toilet paper on the sole of a shoe. Extremely friendly they’ll help you if you need with choosing sushi. Mexican roll is absolute gasoline. Felt like family when I left with a warmer than summer in July goodbye the whole staff gave my girl and I as we left the restaurant. I can already see all the money I plan to spend there in the future.

LOVE the amazing variety of sushi rolls to choose from. If you love spicy– the«Steve’s» roll and the«Firefighter» are a must try! The tuna ceviche is great way to start the meal too. The service is personal and attentive.

Don’t let the location and lack of signage fool you! This sushi is top notch. The sign outside in the strip mall just says«Japanese Restaurant», but it’s absolutely wonderful. Everything is made to order, with fresh ingredients. Seriously the best tuna around. They even made something that wasn’t on the menu for my friend, and she said it was great. I order three rolls and each one was flavorful and presented gorgeously. We will be back!

Duke is the owner and always there plus very personable. Been coming for a few years now and have been able to say we have become friends. Great place to eat sushi that is not that same as every other place. Friendly and family atmosphere.

Update now that the business has been here for a while: Extremely fresh Sushi and very pleasant owners. The only other sushi place in town that compares in quality is Ban Thai.

This place is very consistent, prices are reasonable, dining in takes a little longer but it is worth it. Ordering, «pick up» is painless. the Tampa and Mexican roll are perfect… Duke, the owner is very owner/customer friendly..

(1) i Liked the Shrimp Tempura Appetizer ‚(2) the Tom Ka Gai Thai coconut milk soup with chicken was Very Tart(If they toned down that weird spicy flavor it would be better-Also very little chicken and just some Onions) Basically just a Spicy soup,(3) Gyoza tasted good(4) the Curry Puff(Like a mini-empanada) were great

My husband and I love the sushi & Gyoza. We can’t seem to get enough of this place, especially because they deliver to our area. We order at least once a week now! Since my first visit to Faceless Samurai everyone has been so great. They are so friendly. We love creating our own rolls and the the Spicy Thai Tuna roll is one of our favorites. It is so spicy! Who do you know that actually gets FULL from eating sushi? Well, I can honestly say, THISGIRL! I eat way too much cause it tastes that good, and I perfectly ok with that! :)

Sushi was absolutely amazing, service was great and the atmosphere is very nice. Duke treated us very well and I had a few different sushi rolls, volcano was probably my favorite but very hard to choose a favorite. You can taste the freshness of the fish and he has a wide variety of different kinds to choose from! Highly recommend this place and I will be going back for sure!

Great combination. Try these 3 rolls. Thai spicy tuna, shogun, Mexican roll. We love the spicy, sweet and tangy flavored. We also started our dinner journey with some house hot sake, edamame and the house special appetizer curry puffs. Cheers to a yummy dinner. This is a great place for a casual but authentic Japanese or Thai cuisine.

Went to Hot Tuna for the 2nd time during the week, and again, 45 minute wait. Found the Faceless Samurai right up the street, no wait, great specials and excellent sushi. The service was great, very attentive and the place wasn’t loud like Hot Tuna. I differently recommend to anyone that wants good sushi with no wait. Try the Jack Sparrow, it’s amazing.

This is the place that we have been looking for since we moved to Florida. My husband and I both lived in Japan and have been looking for a great sushi/Japanese restaurant since moving to Florida. This place has a good combination of traditional Japanese Nigiri/Sashimi style dishes as well as the trendy weird sushi rolls that appeal to Americans. They also have a great traditional Japanese full kitchen menu that is all reasonably priced. The tables are the traditional/westernized combination were you can sit with legs folded or drop your legs into the cut out leg space. Half of the staff speak broken Japanese/English which I absolutely love and makes you realize that they will keep their business traditional and delicious. We will definitely be back!

We have gotten take out from here once and ate a special dinner of Shabu Shabu once. My red curry chicken was pretty good. It’s different than other places as its a much thinner sauce. Not as creamy as I’m used to but delicious just the same. The shabu shabu meal was a nice treat. Something different than I have ever had before. The beef was so tender. Like butter melting in your mouth. If you have never had shabu shabu before basically they put a hot plate in the middle of the table with broth they bring to a boil. Then you get trays and trays of meat and trays and trays of vegetables. Put some vegetables in there and dip your meat in to cook and that’s your dinner. It’s pretty neat. If you want shabu shabu you have to give them a few days notice so they can get everything they need for your meal. This meal is gonna cost you a pretty penny so don’t have sticker shock like we did. The owners and employees, which includes the former owner, are very helpful. So what are you waiting for? Get your butt on over to The Faceless Samurai and give them a try.

Very good sushi, service and atmosphere. I enjoyed my spider roll, masago sushi, tuna roll and mexican roll. Pretty standard fare, but tender and flavorful. Very friendly personnel. Prices a little on the high side, but the quality was good.

I may have been expecting amazingly sushi after reading all the reviews on Unilocal but sadly it was an alright experience. Don’t get me wrong this place isn’t bad. I love the traditional seating and atmosphere but the table and meuns were sticky, which was a turn off. I went on a Sunday evening and it was quite slow. The waitress was really nice. I didn’t have a problem at this place but sadly was not impressed with the food. I ordered the Kobe Sashimi Tempura Special, Cold Seafood Udon Salad and Drunken Noodles. You could say I had a bit from everything they had. The sashimi wasn’t horrible nor were they fantastic. I just wasn’t amazed. The tempura batter isn’t my favorite but I do enjoy that they have all sorts of vegetables from eggplant to zucchini. I was greatly disappointed in the Cold Seafood Udon. For such a high price I wasn’t expecting tiny cuts of fish laid on top of Udon, lettuce and their ginger dressing. It def was not a wow factor for me and was touched least. The Drunken Noodles was pretty good. It has a great spicy kick to it from the peppers and the noodles were not too soft or hard. If this restaurant was around the corner, sure I’d eat there often but for me I don’t think I would drive out of my way. It was a nice effort but unfortunately I was not amazed. This is my little review for Faceless Samurai. Signing out!
