Came in looking for a filter and had the pleasure of meeting Dawn Hickman, who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! She helped me make wise decisions, instead of selling me items that were not going to help me in the end.
She did not make me feel silly or ignorant when I asked questions! She put me at ease and encouraged me! My camera, I thought was malfunctioning and she showed me exactly why!
She saved me sooo much time & aggravation!
Because of Dawn’s knowledge & honestly, I will be back to make my camera lens purchase — because I trust her expertise!
UPDATE: Came back for the Tamron Tailgate Event hosted by Lakeshore Camera store! Awesome! (Make sure you go next year — very worthwhile!)
After the event, the owner Gregg Hickman, reopened the store to help with any questions we had — and I bought a new Tamron lens! The staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, they just never seem to tire of answering questions and helping you make the best decisions for your camera/​lessons/​photography needs! I can’t say enough about Lakeshore Camera and their excellent staff! Highly recommend — they love photography & love what they do!

Great experience for a guy who doesn’t know about film!
A relative of mine recently passed away and left in my name an old film camera. A Minolta SR-​7. Honestly I did not know (still don’t know much) about photography and how to specifically use this camera. One of the employees here immediately took an interest in spending time making sure I knew how to use the camera and took time out of her day to teach me some very useful tips. I was in the shop for about 45 min and only spent 5 bucks on a roll of film.
Despite the shop only getting 5 bucks from me, they were more than willing to help me out. They are extremely knowledgable and very kind!
Will definitely be back because of their love of photography and for them inspiring other people to pursue that field as well!

I took my Nikon D40 in for repair. There was a small spot in my photos, I showed him the photos on my camera I was told by the man there it needed a sensor cleaning. I was to pick it up in a few days. I went to the shop paid for the camera took it outside to check it and there was what appeared to be a small piece of tobacco on the sensor and there was no memory card in it. I went back in the store asked about what I saw and was told «Well I didn’t put that in there» I asked about my memory card and was told «we never keep those «I turned to walk out and he said «Wait is this your card?» He checked the card and it was blank but he might be able to pull them off the computer and put them on the disc. I am not a camera expert so when I ask a question its nice to have an explanation, I got none of that. So I have to drive up there a 2^nd time to get a disc generated from the store computer, why were my pictures downloaded on the computer when they don’t ever keep cards and I paid $ 65.00 for the sensor cleaning and now I have something else that shows up that wasn’t there before… I have never had worse customer service and I hope this saves someone else from the same experience… I have this a 1 star so I could post it, there wasn’t anywhere for a negative rating.

Places like this are becoming dinosaurs, as digital camera and personal printers are getting better. But what happens if you lose your charger, and every camera from the beginning of time has a different battery.
They employees there were extremely helpful and opened the box to check if that was the correct product that you needed. Which was amazing, because there is nothing I hate more then getting home and something doesn’t work and you have to bring it back.
I will go here for all my future camera needs, maybe even get a SLR, next.

I purchased a newly released dslr kit here a few months ago when all the big online retailers were completely out of stock. It’s a wonderful local camera store with a very friendly and helpful staff and it made for an extremely nice purchasing experience compared to online ordering or big box stores. I called ahead and they told me they had the camera I was looking for in stock and they were happy to hold it for me for the day– when I got there I spoke with the same nice lady who remembered our conversation and she retrieved the item. Another person helped me unpack the camera– look it over– take a few test shots– and boxed it back up for me. They are knowledgeable and carry a nice selection of new and used photography products– I would highly recommend stopping by and checking the place out.
