Since my regular tailor left town, I thought I would try Mary’s. I have a sportcoat that needs to have the collar shortened. I received anything but a warm welcome. When I said what I was there for Mary, from the back room, said, «Well put it on.»
When she did come out she said, «Looks fine to me.»
When I pointed-​out that the collar needs to be shortened, she said, «Well, of course it’s going to wrinkle like that when you turn your head.»
Now, I’m no expert when it comes to tailoring, but I do know how a sportcoat should fit.
Either she doesn’t care or she doesn’t need the business. I, too, will be looking elsewhere.

Mary’s Tailoring did a beautiful job altering my new tuxedo jacket and semi-​custom dress shirt. The workmanship is very nice, but $ 60 for two pieces? I’m originally from Chicago and the tailor I went to there recently, only charged $ 25 for a jacket and $ 15 for a shirt. I’ll be looking for a more real price point, thanks.
