Michael’s House

I am a family member who recently returned from the weekend long Michael’s House family program. I rarely write reviews, but I was so completely blown away by the staff, the program and the place, that I wanted to make sure to share my experience. For anyone seeking help (or assisting a family member in getting help) for addiction and/​or mental health issues, I can’t imagine a better program. We have had experience with other treatment programs and thought they were fine, until we saw the true devotion, experience, skill and attitude of the staff here. I’m not even sure where to begin, but I think the bottom line is that Michael’s House treats every resident (and their families) with a loving care and concern that were totally unexpected. I know that my son is supported in all ways, and that the people he has met and worked with here will be with him, pulling for him and guiding him for the rest of his life. I am unspeakably thankful for them and all that they do.

I went to MIchael’s House and was very scared at first since it was my first attempt to get into recovery from my alcohol and drug use. I had a perfect experience all the way through. The staff was after a few days like a family to me, the food was excellent, and the nurses and doctors were doing all in their possibility to make it as easy as possible for me. Rehab is hard –for every person-​, but with the professional help I got there and the excellent accommodation is was better than I ever thought it could be. I did what counselors, doctors, therapists, nurses and other staff told me and learned the tools I needed to become sober and stay sober. I have five years now and never relapsed so far. Going to Michael’s House was the best decision I ever made and I go back for Alumni events ever since to meet my sobriety family again. Most important for me was that at Michael’s House you are not a number, you are a person, an individual and receive very personalized care and after care. They offer DBT classes and until today this is one of the really important pillars in my recovery. The Alumni events are also wonderful organized. Michael’s House it truly a top place to start your new life.
