Palm Springs landmark right here!!! Anyone who gives Mr. G anything less than 5 stars is a fool and definitely a tourist or just an overall angry person! I have grown up with this place my entire life and it is a treasure in the desert :):):) Great toys, great fun, shop small! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!!!

I wish I could rate this place a negative. The place is neat, sure. The fact of the matter is that their employees are so unprofessional. I went in with my group and employee today 09÷04÷15. We take care of people with Down syndrome. They were rude upon entering. We went in as it opened, well actually they opened later than scheduled time. Upon entering, the lady employee gave us a mean glare and kept vacuuming right in front of us and wouldn’t let us through. And throughout the store vacuumed right by us as if to get us out of the way. They kept an eye on us throughout the entire store, even though there were other customers with young children. They made us feel very uncomfortable. One of our group memeber a accidentally dropped a board game and she ran to us asking if everything was ok. We told her it was fine. Then she kept asking us if we found everything we needed as if to rush us out of the store. Mind you, our group is very well behaved and listens. My coworker was waiting to get help at the register to purchase something, and the cashier looked at her and continued with a phone call and was mentioning our group being in the store as if it bugged her. After one of our group, consumers as we call then since we are their job coaches, was looking at an item, and he came over to tell us that the lady asked if he was going to purchase it, only to take it away from him and put it back, after she didn’t understand him because he has trouble communicating. Then as we left she had the nerve to tell us that he had something and asked us if he was going to purchase it, and I had to inform her that he put it back. I didn’t mention that she did not recall putting it back for him, as he had told us. Worse service ever. That’s discriminating.

Fair price. Hella toys and trinkets. Came here on a chilly evening whilst Craig was out w/his friends. I wanted to get Gavin something to accompany him on our evening adventure together. If you didn’t know, it doesn’t take much to bring a smile to a kid. He wanted bubbles. I kid you not. I also got a postcard for a keepsake. About $ 4 later and 20 minutes later, Gavin spilled more than half of the bubbles right outside Great Shakes. Nice one, Gavin. P. S. Service was distant and short.

It’s a toy store, but I wandered into the wrong half of the store at first. I saw all the usual touristy Palm Springs trinkets and baubles, so I spent the first few minutes I was in there wondering where in the world all the toys were. Alas, I just kept moving on through and found the toys on the other side of the store. And now here is my dilemma. I’m a firm believer in supporting the community and local business. And when there’s not even a Toys R Us anywhere close(all the way out in Indio), Mr. G’s has a captive market. But what’s lame? Well, for starters, not a huge selection of toys. That of course is pretty forgivable — this is a small business, not a giant big box warehouse. What’s even more lame is the pricing. I mean, I get it. Downtown Palm Springs. The lease is probably ridiculous. But what are you going to sell when your prices are considerably higher than the evil empires of Walmart and Amazon, and it’s not like there’s some compelling reason(like distinctly great customer service) to pay the premium of a local business? I mean, I’ll gladly go down to Running Wild and spend extra because the service and overall experience justify it. But Mr. G’s? Not so much. So there you have it. Local business deserves the support, but the prices are steep, and there’s not much else going on to justify the prices.

This is a cute kids store along the main drag of Palm Springs. Whenever I travel I have a tradition of buying Ephraim a book and writing a note in the front about where it came from and when it was bought so I stopped into Mr. G’s expressly looking for a book. And I found quite a few to choose from. They have everything from board books to bigger kid’s books. They also have plenty of plush toys, fun games puzzles. Their inventory runs the gamut in ages. The people working there were pleasant while I was in and the store itself was spacious which made browsing and shopping there quite easy. Definitely worth checking out if you have kiddos and are in the area.

Mr. G’s is fast becoming the only source for fun little windup toys beloved by my son. There’s always a good selection of interesting wind-ups. Also on offer are a surprisingly decent selection of toys and games for kids from toddlers to teens. I always make a stop here on my visits to the desert.

Look out for an evil witch named«Stephanie» who works at this store! She gives Palm Springs a bad name! My Husband and I went to this place to return something, and she just kept ignoring us as if we weren’t even there — then when we let her know that we were there and needed assistance, she had a nasty, evil look on her face and snapped at us saying, «look, like the sign says, we don’t take returns without a receipt, so you are out of luck», then gave us a dirty look and turned her back to us! Was she PMS’ing or what? We walked out of that store and will never return because of her bad attitude and lack of professionalism. Palm Springs doesn’t need people like her to ruin their good image. She deserves to be fired!

My 5 yo daughter loved this store. I mean what kid wouldn’t love a Toy store. There was a wide selection of great toys which were priced reasonably. Only gave 4 stars because the staff did not seem to care for the customers, no greeting and eye contact when we walked passed them, it was kind of like they were machines stocking the shelves. They only communicated when we were ready to pay.

I LOVEMR. G’s. The store is HUGE with something for everyone. kids of all ages. Hot Wheels Cars, Superhero Action Figures, stuffed animals, porcelin dolls, wind chimes, salt and pepper shakers, you name it. I always stop in as I walk down N. Palm Canyon, and have always been happy with the prices and Service there. Truly a wonderful place.
