The drinks are overpriced, the bartenders are inattentive, and one of their drag queens literally punched my friend in the face completely unprovoked. The lack of professionalism here is unmatched and you won’t catch me dead here ever again.

This place sucks. Nice remodel but not what it used to be. Full of drunk bachelorets and girls. Not gay at all anymore

Love love love this place. Only negative: Brandon, the maladjusted young straight guy who mans the door sometimes mistakes patrons for the janitorial staff

Go for the drinks. Stay for the wonton chips. Don’t eat the food, it’s tasteless at best, a bit rancid at worst. Definitely get dinner somewhere is, this place is tiki bar only.

The clientele was a mixed bag of gay, straight, tourists, locals, young, and old. The bartenders were efficient. The layout was a bit discombobulated. The dancers seemed robotic. The music was okay. There were a few locals that were having a good time on the dance floor, and they were almost contagious. The place seemed a little seedy and speedy if you catch my drift? Wouldn’t be on the top of my list, but would do in a pinch. Bachelorette party paradise.

Unfortunately this was recommended by my good friend. But the guys at the door don’t like straight blonde girls. So if you want to have a good time in Palm Springs don’t come to tucans :(

I love it here. The Thursday night drag show with Jazmyn is one of the best I’ve seen in a while: Jazmyn and Calypso especially. Calypso’s Janelle Monae is performance art. Cheap drinks, fun crowd, and kitschy space. Great gay fun in Palm Springs!

This review is for the Sunday night drag show. So I’m from San Francisco and have seen some amazing Drag Queen shows… This show was just weird. They lip sync and troll the audience for tips. Some of the performances weren’t even worth it. They just started going through and grabbing their $ 1 bills at the beginning of the songs. I wouldn’t waste your money if you’ve been to some good shows before.

I came to Toucans with a group of about 11 for a bachelorette party to watch their Sunday night drag show. There is an 8pm showing and a 10pm showing and each performance is different. You can(and most people do) stay for both. We paid $ 20 ahead of time to have reserved seats in front which we realized later is unnecessary since they do allow standing in the back and on the side for free or maybe for a small fee. The pricing is honestly a bit convoluted as most shows are only $ 10 but then if you’re reserving for more than 6 people, the cost is $ 20 each. This pricing covers both performances. One thing that I didn’t appreciate was the bachelorette party disclaimer video before the start of the show. I understand that they probably do have issues with large female groups but it felt a little unwelcoming/off-putting. Most of the crowd were males. While the décor is a bit drab and seemed dirty, the bartenders were very heavy handed and all of the employees were friendly and kind to us. The drag show itself was a ton of fun! They have a great range of performers including Morgan McMichaels who was my favorite. The show has a lot of crowd interaction and I enjoyed Tommi Rose’s jokes during the beginning of the show. You really don’t need to be seated in the front as the performers walk around throughout the crowd to collect their dollar bills. Don’t forget to bring a big stack of them!

I had a freakin blast here and wish there was one close to my house. The clientele is a hoot and very friendly. Drinks are cheap and the music was pumping. My kind of place.

WE did a road trip & ended up in The Desert. Stayed @ JW Marriott, dinner @ Morton’s & a Sunday night Drag Show. Was a great show, except WE could NOTTIP the entertainers as WE usually do, as they did not make it to the back where we where. But WE had a great time.

We had a great time watching the drag show Sunday night(6⁄21). Really fun crowd, great show, good drinks. The door staff was especially helpful considering that we only booked tickets about an hour in advance.(Thanks, guys!) The venue is a decent sized, but not huge. The bar is pretty big though.

Bars | Night Clubs | 21+ Relatively Close To: Circle K. Public Transportation: Yes. Valet Service: No. Wheelchair Accessible: Yes. Service Pet Allowed: Yes. Parking: Street parking, poorly lighted. Popularity: People seem okay. Cellular Reception: Yes. Free Wifi: No. Outdoor Space: Limited seating. Cleanliness: The 5 second rule does not apply here, could be swept and dusted more often. Lighting: Poor lighting. Presentation: Its far from Tiki. If a native Hawaiian came into the joint, they would probably be disgusted with the entire place and walk out calling it a Tiki bar gone terrifyingly wrong. Ownership: Privately managed. Items Ordered: Coke with light ice. Check-in Wait Time: 4 minutes. Temperature: °77 Degrees Bartenders knowledgement of exotic drinks: Bartenders and servers are not knowledgeable about products used in exotic drink creations, only limited to bottled and fountain drinks. Overall Service: Service is okay. Staffs response on compliments: Very welcoming. Staffs response about complaints: Complaint went unnoticed. Recommendation: Two ** stars or less dont consider. Three *** stars be cautious. Four **** stars or more highly recommended. Quick Notes: This bar has a fun vibe and is usually packed with younger guys and few girls. The older crowd acts like hyenas and start stalking young meat once thier incapable of having dialog. My reviews are structured and rated in many areas. I believe that my experiences will provide consumers satisfactory or acceptable in quality or quantity information. I hope this particular review has helped you carefully decide whether or not to give this venue your business. Enjoy, Jonathan

I was pleasantly surprised when I rolled in here on a whim one night while heading into Palm Springs! Big space, nice décor, friendly, and even Drag shows! Love it! Two of my favorite things, Tiki & Trannies! You could throw a great party here! Would love to come back as much as I can :)

Of all the gay bars and clubs to go to in Palm Springs… this one is probably my preference. While Hunter’s tries to be the Abbey… And Spurline tries to be like. .well an old, cynical, musical loving gay man… Toucan’s is an easy going place. While they don’t offer bottle service, the dance floor is small, and the smoking patio is a small corridor, everyone is pretty easy going. Tuesdays are a lot of fun. Saturdays is like a night out in TJ. Sundays are relaxing. And thursdays are hit and miss… The female bartender is cool as hell, and is really fun. Some of the bartenders can be a little bit judge and uptight, but then again, so can I… I will say… beware the ratchets.

Um this is far cry from a tiki bar. The drinks remind me of some of the water downed drinks I would get in TJ when I was 18. Sticky floors, open bathrooms, and a processed sugar drink headache included. Needless to say the drinks are served in plastic cups. Go for the dancing and don’t show up here unless it’s real late at night — like well after midnight and you enjoy dancing to Beyonce’s all the single ladies. Good or bad you will definitely have some stories to tell about this place after you leave.

Just reopened after remodel and did an amazing job! Gone and the dirty carpets now covered with coating similar to a garage floor coating thats not slip, new paintings on the walls, everything dusted, looks great! Same staff I love. Great job everyone, I’ll be back soon!

The deejay’ing was just okay. I get it, it’s not SF or LA, but I’ve heard teenagers with a decent grasp of iTunes do better. The crowd was a mixed bag on a Friday night. There were definitely plus-sized women twerking and making drunken spectacles of themselves. To be fair, I don’t have a problem with plus-sized women or twerking, automatically, but mix in a 0.2BAC and it’s just sloppy and undignified and you feel bad for her, it’s a buzzkill. The gogo dancers were hot, but most of them couldn’t dance. Like me. The latter part, that is. The climate control wasn’t the best and it was both humid and warm. Unpleasantly so. I lived in Phoenix nine years, same climate as Palm Springs, so I think my expectations here are reasonable. The men here were sloppy. I had literally five drinks spilled on me, and went home reeking of alcohol like I was on a three-day bender. I’d had two drinks. I’m not a 21-year-old out to prove that my parents don’t control me… it’s maybe not the place for me, at least not that late at night on a weekend. A bit of a ratchet mess.
