They took my reservation and the guys there helped me make my mothers birthday special :) I forgot to ask if I could bring a cake but they didn’t seem to mind. They got us extra plates and folks and everything! We ordered a round of sangria which was to die for and the chicken sandwich is a must!!! I love this place for its good vibes as well, the waiters are awesome :)

This is a wonderful little place for a date night with your partner. Pick anything off the menu and you will not be disappointed. Their version of a mojito is very refreshing & you won’t order just one!

My family is Cuban so I’ve been eating cuban food since forever. I was super excited when this place came to town because we’ve been needing a Cuban place! I love the décor and the service has always been awesome. Having grown up with this food I would say it’s lacking that extra flavor. I feel like that authentic passionate Cuban flavor is muted to maybe appeal to a wider crowd. Their drinks are great but overpriced. But it does have a great ambiance.

This place was great! We went on a Friday night and they had live music. Something that is a lost art these days and we need more of! The food was delicious as well as the sangria. We are from Phoenix but if we pass through here again we will definitely be stopping by!

I have lived coast to coast for the last 16 years and Cuban food is one of my obsessions. This place is the real !!! If you have never had Cuban food before or like me can’t make up your mind, when you go get get several of the tapas and then split the tour of Cuba that you get a sample of almost everything they make. Also skip the red Sangria and go right for the White Sangria.

Love this place! Very cute! Great food, drinks, and desserts. Coconut mojitos were very tasty. The flan is made fresh and oh my goodness you can taste the difference. Tapas were fresh and tasty. Presentation was exquisite. Everything was so clean too! It’s a very small and intimate place. My parents and I will definitely be back. The male waiter was very good, prompt, personable and friendly. We will ask for him next time. :) It’s worth every penny. An absolute diamond in the rough. Check them out!!! They also have dancing and live entertainment!!!

On April 30, 2016 My fiancé and I decided to stop in and try some food to go. Being of Cuban ancestry, my fiancé was looking forward to having some authenticity. When she saw the menu her eyes lit up with total excitement. We placed our orders and marveled at the bar while our food was prepared. The restaurant’s environment was warm and inviting. The layout was clean and clearly well maintained. The staff was professional, attentive, and polite. The waiting time for our orders was brief and just right. I ordered the Ropa Vieja Sandwich and my fiancé ordered the Ropa Vieja Entrée. The food was delicious and some of the best we’ve ever had in our entire lives. The seasoning, texture, colors, and proportions were amazing. We spent the entire evening just raving over it and have passed word on to some of our friends and family. What an awesome find for us! My fiancé and I are even strongly considering a private party event so our friends and family can experience the great food. Thanks Baracoa Lounge! We will be back!

Alright, today’s food adventure has taken me and the King of lunch time cuisine(Jimmy) to this nifty little spot called baracoa lounge. We were hesitant at first. Put off by the $$ symbols dangling off their Unilocal page. But, yesterday was pay day so why the fuck not?! «Treat yo self nigga!» And with that, we set off. 2 hungry dudes with freshly loaded ATM cards burning holes in our pockets. After a few minutes of driving around in circles we found the place, nestled between some doctors offices and Realestate agencies. Blink and you’ll miss it. I blinked, we missed it. Made a u-turn and pulled up. The place, was nice on the inside, dimly lit, with salsa music blasting, simulated exposed brick walls and hard wood counter tops. Not to shabby. So far, so good. What’d I order you ask? Bistec de pollo lunch bowl. That’s grilled chicken breast, for those of you who don’t «habla». Along with a guava & cheese empanada.(I didn’t get this girlish figure by skipping out on desserts) I gotta say with the expectations I had on the food for the price(that $$ Unilocal thing I was talking about earlier) This place hit a home run. Tender grilled chicken, seasoned perfect, and all the flavors on point. Good stuff. But not so good that I’d fist fight your grandma for it. But I would swipe all of granny’s left overs outta the fridge at 2am.(Write your name on it if you don’t want me to touch your food nana!) The only down side was the guava & cheese empanada! It was good… but surprisingly short on the guava part of the guava & cheese! Like, no sign of it anywhere?! Not even a guava colored smudge on the inside to attempt to fill me with the false hope that somewhere in this thing I might have a hint of guava… Nope nothing! The whole damn thing tasted like disappointment and sadness covered a flakey crust! So that was $ 3 shot to hell. But it was still decent. I fully endorse the food at this place. But not the deserts. Over all not bad for a price tag coming in just south of $ 20. That’s why they had that«$$» on Unilocal

The food is good, I liked the environment, people are nice and attentive, and it was a busy night. The band was awesome I think it was called Double Play. I recommend coming here for a dinner date or just a girls night out for drinks! Good drink selections too!

My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time(since I’m 21 now), the other night and I have to say that this place was all I had hoped for. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was really chill. They had a live band playing and they were very good! The service was excellent and strawberry mojitos were to die for. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Considering this place has so many high reviews, my husband and I decided to check this place out. Because this is in the AV, it is decent food. I was disappointed though. I ordered the Ropa Vieja because that seemed like the most popular item, but it was really mushy and didn’t taste all that great. My husband ordered the Tour de Cuba, which seemed like a better option since he wasn’t stuck with one type. The place is quite small, so I couldn’t understand why the waitress kept forgetting about us, and it’s not like it was super crowded when we were there. Overall, not an impressive experience, may have to give it another chance sometime.

My friend suggested we try the place especially since she wanted my stamp of approval. We both loved it soooooo much. I ordered the ropa vieja sandwich with the fries and she chose the bistec de pollo sandwich also with fries. Our meal was absolutely 100% perfect and the service was superb. The whole staff was friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to make our meal experience fantastic and I truly believe they succeeded. We were both extremely satisfied and couldn’t wait to tell our friends about it. I enjoyed my experience so much that a few days later when another friend asked me where we should go, I immediately thought of going back. She also loved it as much as me and my original friend did. That alone should tell you just how excellent this restaurant is — and not just the food but the entire experience. I highly recommend trying it ASAP. That’s how impressed I’ve been and it doesn’t happen often.

Great live music, wonderful Sangria, and great customer service – especially from Ricardo(Rick) He was very sweet and funny. Ambience is lovely – very dark, compact, and calming. All around great experience for my first visit with my girlfriends. I would highly recommend coming for drinks and watching live music.

Let me start off by saying I’m a Cuban from Miami — I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately I hated it and the food made us horribly ill. We came in for lunch around 12. The inside of the restaurant is dark and has a bar/lounge atmosphere although it’s not well executed. The menu is very limited and the prices are high for this kind of food. We ordered the beef empanadas, pan con lechon, and the ropa vieja sandwich. I was asked if I would like cheese on my pan con lechon, I declined. I’ve never seen or heard of a pan con lechon with cheese. The order of beef empanadas arrived — two average sized empanadas. They were good, but nothing to write home about. The empanadas were very overpriced, on the menu they were priced at $ 8 however when the bill arrived we were inexplicably charged $ 9. Anyone familiar with Cuban cuisine will tell you it’s very traditional to put lime on pretty much everything. I asked for a few limes to squeeze on my empanada. The waiter brought out thin slices of limes clearly intended for beverages. We were charged a .50 cent«chef special» fee for the limes which is laughable. My pan con lechon arrives, the first thing I notice is that it is not on Cuban bread. The second thing I notice is that it has cheese on it. I made a comment to the waiter which he ignored. I signaled him back over to mention again that the sandwich has cheese on it. He took the sandwich away and brought a new one. This was the worst pan con lechon I could ever imagine having. The bread was terrible, it didn’t resemble Cuban bread in any way shape or form. The pork was dry and either severely under seasoned or not seasoned at all, also the meat itself had an off taste. They went overboard on the onions, half of which were over cooked and the other half were basically raw. They also put mayo or some kind of mystery white sauce on the sandwich — gross to say the least. The ropa vieja sandwich was also bad — both an absolute insult to Cuban cuisine. Later on in the evening we became extremely ill, certainly from this meal. We both had severe stomach pain and diarrhea, so severe it drove one of us to tears. I thought we may have to go to the hospital. I wouldn’t not suggest this restaurant to my worst enemy. For me hell would be an eternity of being forced to eat this sad excuse for Cuban cuisine and attempting to pass it while crying on the toilet. I hope I’m able to save at least one person from a similar fate.

Baracoa Lounge is a small, cozy Cuban restaurant with a full bar & friendly, welcoming staff. Honestly, I fall between 3 – 4 stars on this place, because the food is pricey and not mindblowing, but it’s such a huge surprise to find in Palmdale, compared to pretty much any other restaurant in the Antelope Valley. I’ll say 3 stars for the food, but I’ll round up to 4 stars overall for the LA feel of the environment of the restaurant despite the fact that it’s located in the AV. I shared the Sandwich Cubano($ 10) and the Ropa Vieja($ 17). The Cubano was meatier than I was expecting, fell apart a little as I ate it, and not one of the best I’ve ever had, but it was still enjoyable. The fries were surprisingly good with a little garlic & oil added on top(minus the mysterious chunk of something very burnt and black that was found mixed in at the bottom). The Ropa Vieja had a generous portion of beef, but was a little too oily and wet for my liking. I also would have been happier if there had been more plantains, because the plate only came with three small ones, which tasted really good. We had the Red and White Sangrias($ 8 each), which were actually surprisingly strong, and not drowning in fruit, which I liked. My only two complaints are that they had live music, which is cool, but it was way too loud for such a small restaurant. I was yelling across the table & at one point, we just stopped talking. All the waiters were also yelling to one another, just so much yelling… Secondly, for a restaurant in the AV, everything’s much pricier than would have been imagined, but I would come here again.

Baracoa has some incredible Cuban sandwiches. Tender meat with melted cheese on crispy bread? What more can you ask for? Only just some delicious plantains on the side. I’ve only visited on one occasion, but have had take out a few times. The restaurant has a very lounge-y and kickback feel. The servers were attentive and quick to offer suggestions. I haven’t tried much more than the Cuban sandwich or the empanadas, however I can 100% vouch for those plates. My only gripe is that I’ve called in to place orders to go and have been put on hold for extended periods of time, but the wait time is worth the food. I always look forward to visiting family in AV just so we can pick up some eats at Baracoa.

I stumbled across this place(of course, thank you Unilocal!) when I was staying the night in Palmdale for work and I am so glad I did! It was awesome! Everyone was really friendly and greeted me right when I arrived and they had live music that started shortly after I sat down. I started with the white sangria– which was just what I needed after a long day. I am not usually a fan of sangria because it is usually too sweet for me, but this was light and fruity. I started with the Papa Rellena to start– because I’m a meat and potatoes girl– how much better can it get?! They were delicious. Great seasoning and creamy potatoes in a little fried package– yum! For dinner I ordered the Lechon Asado and a side of veggies. Now, I have had Cuban friends cook dinner for me before and this is by far the best Cuban meal I have had— soooo good! The meat was full of flavor and tender, the beans were delious and the veggies were perfectly sautéed and seasoned. I really appreciated the manager helping me find the perfect red to pair with the food, as well. Kudos! I was really impressed with this place and I wish it was closer to home. I’ll be back here for sure the next time I’m in the area.

Jon was our server again and it was really nice to be remembered, «Haven’t seen you for a while, where’ve you been :-) ?» He was fabulous and gracefully catered to our special requests in an effort to ensure we had a great meal again! We started with the shrimp appetizer and they were tender, juicy, and flavorful. The bell pepper and onions served with it were perfectly caramelized and everything sat on the bed of crushed plantain that was super duper crispy. We also ordered a side of their delicious bread with a request for lots of garlic, and the photograph speaks for itself… that garlic and oil on that crispy bread was wonderful! It’s not that I want to be a creature of habit, but the Tour de Cuba plate is so good, so I ordered it again. Being in a «garlic mood», we also ordered a side of the garlic in oil — Mojo — to pour all over the rice and beans. We were very satisfied customers and promised ourselves that we would find a way to get back there sooner rather than later.
