El Toreo West

This place is not good I got the asada and it seemed like it was boiled. The food is not good and the waiter took like 10 minutes to finally come and asked what we wanted to drink. Never going again.

There weekend buffet is great. Tons of food, fruit, salads, and treats. The staff is always friendly and we always leave satisfied.

Place sucks charge 9.50 $ with Tax for a asada burrito the size of a frozen Tinas burrito for a quarter at the store. The place is old and dirty water stains on ceiling they keep it dark so you can’t see look closely.

The food is horrible. Completely tasteless soft goo drowned in a bland sauce and melted cheese. It is gross. This is what gringos called Mexican food in the 1950’s (which is also apparently the last time the restaurant was cleaned).

Absolutely LOVE their food. Everything is authentic from their meat to side dishes to even salsa and chips. I highly recommend getting the Chile Colorado Burrito Dinner, it is to die for.

Excellent margaritas fairly good food. The guys loved the salsa which I thought was just pretty good. Chips were decent.

So every other weekend my gf and I like to go get drinks and every single time we go in the bar smells so badly, like dirty rags or just unwashed dishes and it honestly makes me nauseous. I have to move to the other side of the restaurant, or even go sit outside. Makes me wonder if all the cups and dishes are even being washed properly.

The chicken taco’s here are the best in town. White meat and lots of it. In fact their chicken tostada has so much chicken I have to actually ask for less meat in it. The only reason I don’t give them five stars is because the waiters tend to be rather rude and off hand. There is an older waiter who is very nice, but some of the others make me not want to go in. But I do because I love the food so much. Also it’s not very nice inside.

One of my favorite Mexican places out here! I’ve been coming here since childhood. Their cheese enchiladas are outstanding. So is their refried beans. Crunchy chicken tacos are amazing. The chicken in them tastes like it’s slow cooked all day and it’s topped with lots of cheese.
I got a double strawberry margarita on the rocks tonight and it was SO yummy. It’s a little outdated looking in here but I feel it’s part of the charm. Servers are always nice and they’re prompt. Oh! Chips and salsa are very tasty. I often come here just for a chips and salsa order to go.

Nothing extravagant about the food to brag about here… mediocre at best. HUGE portions and super attentive and fast waiters. The salsa was good, the pork on the tostada was tasty; however, the taco was completely soggy on one side and fell apart when I tried to pick it up. Also tried the chile relleno… ummmm…should’ve passed on that one. The plate definitely looked better than it tasted.

I would come here JUST for the margaritas; so good and they definitely don’t skimp on the tequila. Goooood stuff! The food is delicious but the portions are so big. I’m not a fan of re-​heating Mexican food so it’s a waste to me.

Terrible food! Ran down place that smelled liked musty carpet and slow servers. The only reason this place is still in business is the alcohol (drinks!) Check out the good reviews their all about the drinks! I know good Mexican food and you can’t find it here!

This place is pretty cool. Came here during Sunday Brunch and besides it being a little hard to get around with the set up everything turned out ok. I like their tamales. The drinks we had were pretty good.

If I could give a negative one I would. I asked if they had happy hour and the horrible manager said. We don’t have happy hour today, tomorrow, never and hung up on me. Than I called back asked to speak to the manager… Well the guy who hung up on me was the manager. I asked him why he was so rude to me. He proceeded to tell me, well we don’t have happy hour and hung up on me again. Never coming here again. The worst! You get better service in Mexico at a true authentic Mexican restaurant.

Salsa is a little bit on the spicy side for me, but not bad. We sat in the main restaurant area to the left but then decided it was a bit too cold, and moved into the bar area.
Mr. Picky decided to try the Albondigas soup and I think that it might actually have tasted better than at some of their other locations. Not wanting to spend six dollars if it wasn’t going to be good, he asked for a sample first, and that was a very generous size brought by our waiter Santiago – he was very accommodating throughout the meal. It was actually good enough that I then turned around and ordered it, too.
While I ordered Combo #14 (chili Relleno, cheese enchilada and beef taco), he went for the á la carte Chili Relleno. The first came lukewarm and had to be sent back, but the next was piping hot and he said, «Not bad!»
Using one’s hands can be a great thing with food, but not when it’s a taco and it’s been sitting in the sauce on the plate, because then that is a mess! Putting that aside, I generally found that the food was pretty but didn’t taste as good as it looked, and definitely needed salt.
Mr. P was upset that the restroom facility was a mess and not working. I don’t care to go into any details. Anyway … back to the meal. So then with a $ 10 off coupon on $ 30 he had found in the local paper, we ordered flan and fried ice-​cream to get the bill up to $ 30.15. My recommendation? Take a pass on the flan, but order the fried ice-​cream (might have been the best part of the meal). Overall? I don’t think the food was bad, but it wasn’t good enough to turn us into fans wanting to make a repeat visit.

El Toreo is the best Mexican Food in the AV. The plates are huge. The service is great. The Sunday brunch hits the spot. They serve menudo and pozole on Sunday. I highly recommend giving one of their locations a try, you won’t be disappointed.

This is good Mexican food. I always order ala carte because its just so much food. The service is always great and the Long Island ice tea. Wow!

Probably the worst Mexican restaurant that I have been too. Starting to the customer service. Walked in w my girlfriend. Host was on the phone for 3 minutes. Just looking at us. Leaving us at the front looking like idiots. I had to walk into his space. And ask to be seated. Still no attention. A waiter finally came to sit us down. Save your money. Go to Taco Bell. And get a 12 pack from the market. Avoid this place.

While this is a good place to come for a margarita and chips and salsa, the food lately has left a lot to be desired. On a recent visit, we had a shrimp burrito, a personal favorite that has generally been consistent over the last few years until this last visit. For $ 12, this shrimp burrito had very little shrimp and what shrimp was there was well the smallest shrimp ever seen. When the waiter and then manager were called to say we weren’t happy, their only answer was that that owner recently changed the size of the shrimp and that we should come back in when the owner was available. That was their answer for an unhappy guest who couldn’t see value for money. It was disappointing to say the least after coming here so regularly for years to get this kind of response.
