I don’t think these guys exist any longer. The website is dead and phone disconnected.

Pick your own cherries and barely pay(per lb)? YAY! I find myself here with the parents on a bright and sunny day! Perfect weather to pick cherries. It’s a private cherry orchard that doesn’t really sell commercially, but there are loads of people who come to pick. The guys who work here are really enthusiastic, and extremely helpful in directing you to the best cherries! The cherries we got were so big and sweet! I’m definitely a fan, and would love to come back to pick more!

3 cherry seasons ago I decided to it was time to take my youngest son to Leona Valley for the wonderful experience of cherry picking. Lucky for us we found Leona Valley Organics,(off Bouquet Canyon up a dirt road, uh dirt road, it’s worth traveling up that dirt road). Our experience was so fulfilling we decided to make cherry picking a yearly family tradition. Now this was to be yearly, however our experience was so wonderful and the cherry’s so sweet, we now head on out to pick cherries 2 times during the season(June). Our family and friends either tag along with us, or send us an amount of cherries to pick for them. The orchard is family owned and each year we are greeted with warmth and kindness by everyone working on the orchard. I suggest cherry picking to any family for a day’s outing, and picking at Leona Valley Organics is a wonderful experience. Do remember to wear comfortable shoes, as the ground is not level, so to speak and there is mowed growth to walk over. The tress are still young so there are no ladders to climb which make the picking that much nicer. June will come to an end soon, and cherry season too, but we will be back next year to pick and eat the delicious cherries from Leona Valley Organics.

Came back to pick the most fantastic organic cherries money can buy! Thank you Rob, Olga and kids for another delightful Saturday picking cherries and just plain enjoying a day at the farm. What ever you do don’t Google directions or you will be taking the l-o-n-g route try Mapquest. We now go every year and meet family and friends for a sweet and tasty day, thank you Leona Valley Organics!!!

Summer: A season to enjoy the bounty of wonderful things that nature produces. One of the many delicious fruits that stands out is The Cherry. Sweet, tart, colourful, juicy… most anyone can take pleasure in a beautiful bowl of cherries. It was with the desire for a perfect bowl of cherries that I set out on a one-point-five hour drive from LA to Leona Valley(Antelope Valley) where U-Pick cherry orchards are nestled away ten miles from Palmdale. With my Adventure Companions and I ready to go, we kept our eyes peeled on the road, upset at Google Maps for giving us a very long and winding scenic route. We wanted our cherries and we wanted them now! Unfortunately, this gem of an orchard was NOT our first stop. We had luck at finding a decent cherry orchard on the north side of this little town, but Leona Valley ORGANICS was poking the back of one friend’s mind with a stick, and we had to stop and try. If you’re not careful, you’ll miss the entrance, but once you find it, it’s a somewhat long and bumpy trek along a pebbled and rocky road before you see those gorgeous green rows of cherry trees waving at you in the breeze. Blustery wind yanked us out of our car, and pushed us with eager hands through the gates to be immediately greeted by the most welcoming smiles of Rob and Olga, the owners of Leona Valley Organics. Before I knew it, Rob was already answering one friend’s inquiry about their Organic seal, and we were being hit with an informative and no-bones explanation about their orchard and the meticulous detail put into the cherries that Olga had us sampling from a little box she held in front of us. True to word, the Brooks cherries I tried in that offering were absolutely spectacular. The perfect sweet cherries, in my experience. I’ve honestly never had cherries like it. We grabbed our buckets and took Rob’s slyly helpful tip about where the best cherries were picked(in the back #4−7 rows near the guest house). While one friend headed off to inspect Rainier cherries, my organics-eager friend and I trudged up between Rows 4&5 all the way to the back of the orchard, stopping many times along the way to sample sweet deep dark burgundy cherries(the poor Bing cherries were generally ignored by our sampling mouths). We were in heaven. Picking them, hunting for them, filling our buckets and sampling those juicy purple-black jewels was absolutely fun. Also, I got full extremely fast! At only .60c/lb more than the other cherry orchards, I didn’t feel like I was hurting too much with these perfect, sweet organic cherries. Rob and Olga know how to grow a really good cherry, and I know exactly where I’ll be going this time next year. Thanks for a wonderful cherry-picking experience! Life is like a bowl of cherries. … Not really, but when you have a bowl of these lovelies, you might wish it was.
