Really the best Cashew Chicken I have ever had. It was very flavorful. My daughter ordered Orange Chicken and after she took a bite she told me right away that it was really good. We also ordered egg rolls as an appetizer which we enjoyed very much so. Danny and Vanda where very kind and welcoming. Danny made us laugh a bunch of times. He was very caring to take care of his customers beyond what you would expect. What great people and what great food. I wish I had found this place sooner. This place is a real gem! Way to go Danny and Vanda! We will be back soon!

Great Thai tea and the best coconut curry one can find. Love coming here especially since it has a very friendly family staff. They treat you right and they do Thai food right. Would be stupid not to try this little hope in the wall.

I’m not sure what happened to this place. It was actually good at one point. We ordered the following for take out: Chicken pad Thai, ginger and mushroom pork, green curry chicken with a side of white rice, chicken chow mein, and orange chicken. Chicken Pad Thai: Noodles were pale as well as the chicken. It didn’t come with any peanuts, carrots, or lime. It was just flavorless as a whole. Ginger and mushroom pork: It was meh. Not a whole lot of flavor. The pork tasted just like the chicken. green curry chicken: was probably the most edible. It was watery and I couldn’t really taste the curry. It didn’t have any eggplant like it usually comes with. Lots of bamboo shoots. The white rice was good. chow mein: Noodles were pale. I didn’t eat any buy the kids did and they liked it. Orange chicken: It was literally chicken that was orange. This was also an item we ordered for the kids and they liked it. Their mom tried it and said the sauce was good but the chicken lacked in flavor. The only upside is that it’s pretty cheap. As the saying goes you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this place.

Lake LA’s gem! Love this thai place. Affordable and delicious. Most importantly, the service is great. You can have a fancy and pretentious dinner in LA, but if the service is terrible, I wouldn’t go back. At vanda’s, my food always comes out so quickly and delicious. They are so friendly, I would often visit.

Food is delicious! Service is great! It is a little pricey for the area but it is worth it. FRESHPREPARED! The family that owns and runs it takes pride in the food.

Quite possibly the best thai food I have ever had. The beef panang is hard to put down– bite after bite it leaves you craving for more… even if the stomach is telling you no! The décor and the location are not the greatest, but don’t let that fool you. Every meal I have had from this place has been delicious. Best part about the food is that they use real chicken breast and fresh meat. No chicken«parts» here. If Vanda’s was located in a larger city I bet it would be packed all the time. I will continue to return… over and over. YUM!

I drive a truck through Lake Los Angeles as a shortcut to Bakersfield to avoid Lancaster/Palmdale. Ive seen this place dozens of times, but Im usually driving by in the middle of the night or early morning. I happened to be driving by in the early evening, so I had to stop, even though I wasnt that hungry. So I walk in and I was greeted with an empty restaurant with pictures of food on the wall. No problem. The owners Daughter greeted me and was very nice. Outgoing even, which is always pleasant. Not wanting too much, I tried looking for some Tom Yum soup, but to no avail. So I tried the closest thing, the Tom Kah Kai. Served to me in a matter of minutes with a large mound on white rice(which is a must with this dish), this soup didnt disappoint. It wasnt the best ever, but it satiated my thai craving. Make sure to use plenty of the chili-sauce on the table. Lots more coconut milk than Im used to, and zero lemongrass, but it was good enough to make me want to come back. This place isnt gourmet at all, its quite divey, but what do you expect in Lake LA? Still the best restaurant in this small town. If I could, I would give this place an extra ½ star just for how nice the Daughter and Wife were, I would. Cant wait to come back and try the Thai Iced Coffee and Pad Thai.

We tried out Vanda’s Thai Kitchen because we were tired & hungry from hiking at Devil’s Punchbowl. The GPS mentioned it and I read some Unilocal reviews. It’s a small, barren place in the corner of a strip mall. It’s a family-owned business and very friendly & nice. Thai iced tea — it’s pretty good. Small is pretty huge. pad see ew shrimp — I don’t know if the didn’t have the fat rice noodles I’m used to for this dish, but I got the pad thai noodles which I didn’t want. Just ok for me. V. got a pork dish w/red peppers and side of white rice — he liked it fine. S. got Tom Ka Ga Soup — she didn’t like it as much as I did, it was pretty tasty. S. also got a pork chop dish special — she liked it, a tiny piece I tried pork was pretty salty. You can charge it. We paid cash. One unisex bathroom in the back on the Left.

I stopped by on the way back to Orange County, I love Thai food and try not to drive past a Thai restaurant without trying it Vanda’s did not disappoint, Thai iced Coffee was good, and the spring rolls and Pod won sen were outstanding. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back if were ever in the area. Danny was interesting to talk to as well.

I like Thai food, but the food here wasn’t what I expected. I’m not going to call it nasty, but I found it strange that the lady microwaved my food before she served it to me. What in the world?! I still ate it because I was starving and I was in the middle of no where. Will I ever eat here again??? Heck no!

When we arrived they were busy so we were prepared to wait a little. We decided to share our dishes so we ordered pad Thai and coconut curry and a chicken dish and shrimps plus white rice. The options were large and tasted good. Some were not hot enough but not a big deal. The staff were friendly and gave us plenty of rice and water.

I was in the mood for some Thai food, I checked Unilocal and found Vanda’s Thai Kitchen. After checking the map I realized that I had driven by many times when work had brought me into this area and I had never noticed it. Located in an «L» shaped strip mall on the South East corner of 170th Street and Avenue P you will find Vanda’s on the south end of the mall tucked into the corner facing north. Upon entering I was greeted by the husband & wife team of Danny and Vanda. I seated myself and Danny brought over a menu. The menu is extensive with over 70 dishes ranging from appetizers, soups, salads, noodle and rice dishes, curries, and about 7 different vegetarian selections. There are photos on the wall of all of their offerings and Danny pointed out the ones that I saw on the menu that interested me. I ordered the Pad See Ewe(pork) which consists of Pan Fried Flat Noodle with Chinese Broccoli, egg, and Black Soy Sauce. I also ordered a Thai Tea. Vanda went to the kitchen to prepare the Pad See Ewe and Danny stayed up front and brought me my tea. Danny and I started chatting, I have been to Thailand several times so we talked about that among other things. Vanda soon finished the Pad See Ewe and it was brought to my table fresh and hot. The Pad See Ewe was very flavorful, I had the pork but you can also order it with beef, chicken, or shrimp. As I enjoyed my meal I continued my conversation with Danny and now that Vanda was up front she joined in the conversation with all of us sharing stories of Thailand and the different places we had visited there. I enjoyed my experience at Vanda’s, it was more like having a meal at someones home, eating good food while enjoying a good conversation. I am looking forward to visiting Vanda & Danny again and trying a few more dishes from the menu and maybe hear a few more stories too!

I didn’t expect to find Thai food, much less delicious Thai food, out in the Lancaster/Palmdale area. However, Vanda’s Thai Kitchen is a little oasis out in the high desert. The owners are friendly and conversational and the pictures of the different menu items on the wall spark small talk and prepare your appetite for the food that is to come. The portions are generous; the noodle dishes will definitely fill you up. The Pad Woon Sen with chicken(from the a la carte section of the menu) was flavorful and cooked to order. The shrimp pad thai came with 6 jumbo shrimp(not too shabby) and was quite tasty. Iced water was refilled without even asking and we all left happy and full.

A couple of my co-workers kept insisting that I try them out. Thai in the middle of nowhere — what could go wrong??? Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find the food really good. I tried something that could not have been done wrong — Pad Thai… wow, it was great. It had flavor and it just tasted great. I tried their spring rolls — also good. I’ll be going back again and again and again…

This little place is amazingly good! Thanks to my daughter, we are now regulars when in this part of the desert. I have yet to try something I did not like. I always look forward to the larb… mmm…mmmm… good! The food is fresh and made to order and you most definately get what you pay for. It’s difficult to go in there and decide on 2 or 3 items. I usually go there with my husband and we buy several entrees cause the food is that good. The owners are the nicest people ever and the whole family partakes in preparing the food. They are very personable and take pride in what they do. I highly recommend this place.

My daughter told us about this place. It’s tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. The décor is not really fancy but the food is, Thai-licious!(if thats a word). I mean the flavors are out of this world. The portions are more than enough and the darling people who run it are very nice and personable. It’s a family ran business and all are involved. The green curry is coconut goodness with the right amount of spice. The larb is heavenly delicious. The cashew chicken have flavors that you want to savor and talk about. The selections are many that will satisfy. If you are ever in this part of the desert and want to treat yourself try VANDAS Thai Kitchen.
