The only reason this is a 4-star review and not 5 is because it’s only outdoor seating, on tables and chairs that are very uncomfortable and not very clean looking, and where flies flock to, especially during the summer. Aside from that though, this is one of the best roadside food stands I’ve found in 30 years of living and traveling in New England. The food is fantastic… I’ve had three different kinds of ice cream sundaes(Strawberry Shortcake is my favorite, but the Brownie and Blueberry sundaes are also amazing), and the hot dogs are the best I’ve ever found anywhere. For food this good, I would put up with a lot worse than uncomfortable seating and bugs trying to steal my meal!

Amazing homemade ice cream and fresh seafood available with other quick and tasty foods. Plan your visit because it only has outdoor seating.

Hard to expand on the positive reviews I’ve glanced over so far. We found Rondeau’s by accident on a fall drive and it was exactly what we were looking for. Reasonable prices, huge menu, the ideal roadside venue. We had cheeseburgers that destroyed the bun because they were so juicy, along with onion rings and fries, cooked to order. All excellent. A grilled cheese sandwich was tasty with crispy bread. The big treat was the Rondeau Sundae for dessert: Cinnamon sugar donut(homemade) topped with french toast ice cream(home made), maple walnut topping and fresh whipped cream. We subbed pumpkin pie ice cream with no regrets. They close for the season on Nov. 2 You can also find their home made ice cream at the Big E fair. We’re now huge fans.

Maple nut ice cream cone was very nice. The donuts… dense, soft, nutmeg flavored. Not greasy, however I prefer lighter donuts with crunchy outside. Just a personal preference… I’d say buy 1or 2 and then more if you like them. I’d like to try the hot dogs sometime. I would definitely come again if in the area,(it’s maybe an 8 min drive from the pike), but wouldn’t make a special trip to go here.

We stopped in here for a couple of hot dogs back in April, the very first weekend of the 2013 season. We got there around 11 am. While there was no line when we got there, there was a surpringly steady flow of customers while we waited. Menu is surprisingly larger then what you would expect from a road side shack. Plenty of table for you to sit and enjoy the weather and your meal. I can’t ait to return and try the ice cream.

Rondeau’s is the quintessential family-run roadside stand. The menu is huge and consists of creative ice cream flavors and an assortment of shakes, sundaes, frappes and the like, burgers, dogs, sandwiches, and fried seafood… oh, and don’t forget Meme Rondeau’s homemade donuts! There are picnic tables and table/chair combos under a roof for those who prefer to stay out of the sun & rain, and a handful of picnic tables outside for dining al fresco. There’s also a port-a-potty located on the back side of the parking lot, and kids of all ages will enjoy«milking» the larger-than-life blue & white cow and ringing the bell around its neck. Here’s how it’s done at the Dairy Bar: When you go to the window and place your food order, you’ll be given a number. Don’t bother digging for your wallet, because you don’t pay until you pick up. Try the hot dogs! They are huge and tasty and come with grilled buns and any toppings you request(they put the toppings on for you, so make sure you specify what you want when you place your order). «Everything» means ketchup, mustard, relish & onions. The whole belly clams are great, too, as are the fries(they have some kind of coating on them that reminds me of fried chicken? They are not at all greasy, and a small order is plenty to share).
