I haven’t been to this location in a few years, and I forgot how awesome it is. First of all, it’s in an old Ames location that is pretty big(compared to some other Ocean State’s, especially in CT). Everything is neat and organized, and the quality of the items seems much better than at other locations. The staff is very helpful, and I will definitely be stopping here when i’m in the area. Now if only they could replicate this store in some of their other locations… Ocean State management, get on that!

As a reviewer on here state, the ambiance isn’t much to write home about. Beats the ghetto Ocean State in Spfld, though. The retail staff are extremely friendly, though, and yes, you could possibly spend an hour in here just looking for stuff, as it may be hard to find what you’re looking for. Interesting characters shop here, too… beats«people of walmart» at times.

Real bargains to be had. Not much in the ambiance department. Can be hard to find what you are looking for, though you might find a lot of things you didn’t know you needed(and suddenly you do!) along the way. Occasionally have driven there in search of something advertised in that day’s or previous day’s advertising flyer, only to find they don’t have it. That said, have gotten a lot of good quality merchandise at excellent prices at this Job Lot location.

This is a good Job Lot. Once they ran out of Polar seltzer for a week… that was a bummer cause that’s why most people go there. The claw machine in the vestibule is… ummm…wanting. But that’s about it for the bad stuff. The rest is a goldmine… from $ 2 sunglasses to weird outdated electronics accessories to pig ears for the dog. They don’t take EBT… boooooooo.

This Ocean State Job Lot, according to people who work there, is one of the most successful in a New England chain of about 100 discount stores. Shopping at Job Lot is Fun! And, it is a great way to save money on «beauty» products like shampoo and toothpaste, on gardening equipment(I bought a number of things there to start this new hobby), and on area rugs, exercise gadgets, tools, soda, pasta sauce, spices, and hundreds of other things. I wouldn’t buy small appliances there, perhaps, because I’d worry about the quality. However, I’ve been really happy with almost everything I’ve ever purchased at Job Lot. Also, in comparing prices with Target, Walmart, and other places, I know I snagged some great deals. Word to the wise, however: If you see an item and know that you need it, you should buy it immediately. It may not be stocked ever again. But isn’t that part of the fun?
