Palmer City Alehouse

Decent place to grab a bite to eat. I love that the fries are hand cut. The food was served cold. The cooks didn’t seem very skilled in food making. It’s just a bland place.

Great selection of local/​craft beers on tap. Incredible outdoor space with live music. I had Prime Rib Tacos Blackened Prime Rib, cheddar, southwest cream sauce, i ordered two but for lunch one would have been plenty. You definitely get your money’s worth here.

For bar food, the Palmer Ale House is a 5 out of 5. They do it right. Nice open space. Friendly server. 30+ beer selection and some good dark beer choices. Hubby had the burger with prime rib slices on top and he enjoyed that they don’t overcook and served it medium. Tasty. I had the Prime Rib philly sandwich with soup and it was more than I could eat. Big portions and flavorful. Indoors several big screen tvs on sports stations and music going. They also have outdoor patio seating. Enjoyed the meal and experience with mountain views.

My husband and I were visiting Palmer for a wedding. This a pretty cool dinner spot. The weather was a bit cold but they seem to have some nice outdoor seating during better weather. We enjoyed the jalapeño burger which we enjoyed. Their beer is pretty good too.

Slightly upset about the circumstances. Went for dinner at 6 then got turned away at the door during a birthday celebration. I’ve eaten here before and the food is okay. But the service I just experienced was unexpected and not well.

Food is great. Easily the best pizza in the valley. Tons of local beers, as you’d expect. Outdoor music on the lawn in the summers is fantastic, if the weather is good. It’s just a great place to get a beer, eat some decent food and chill out. No better place in Palmer to do that.

Seems overrated. Had the prime rib burger, was $ 18 for a small burger and small plate of fries, and was NOT special in any way, and slightly cold. Also overpriced beer and slow service (restaurant was not busy). Edible but not worth a special trip.

I’ve been here a couple times and the food was pretty good but this evening it was less than good. Waitress brought out our sandwiches with cold, greasy, brown fries. It’s not hard to have good fries. They are really failing in this department. The waitress did bring us a basket of hot fries after telling her they were cold but they weren’t much better. I had the Rueben, which was just OK. Needless to say, I was disappointed in the food this time. They need to change their fries, they were terrible.

I came here when they first opened and was fairly impressed, but returned home last week and was extremely disappointed. The place smelt like old bad beer and puke when you walked in, I get that it’s a bar but seriously just clean your floors. The hostess was hanging out at the bar and actually rolled her eyes when she saw my group of three waiting. The menu has completely changed and was way over priced. we just got the nachos which were fine but nothing special. Then when we obviously wanted to leave and get our check our waiter kept hassling us about getting dessert. If I say no more than three time you need to leave me alone. Incredibly dissapointing since it seemed Palmer might have a cool place for once.

I have been here several times and the food and serves is consistently good.

I’ve come here for lunch a couple of times. The lunch menu is pretty limited, but they have a fairly good deal in their $ 7.95 slice and salad option; where you get a slice of the pizza of the day and either a green or caesar salad. The pizza is okay, not remarkable, but definitely not bad. The green salad is pretty meager – greens topped with diced tomatoes and olives.
I was worried after reading reviews about slow service, but haven’t had a problem during the lunch time. My take is that food orders come up pretty quick but it can take a while to get the server’s attention to order. Still one of my preferred places to eat in Palmer.

Located in a downtown Palmer, the Palmer Ale house is a place you don’t want to miss out on! We ended up coming on Denali brewing night and got to keep our pint glass. The Palmer Ale house has a great selection of craft beer. Their pizza was outstanding, similar to wood fired pizza but is baked on a stone. We ordered the ROCK pizza, and let me tell you what It was rockin! It was our first time having cream cheese on pizza and it was great! The Palmer Ale house is a place you don’t want to miss out on!

BEST BURGER EVER. Red Robin is my favorite restaurant and their burgers cannot even compare. The fries were perfect as well. the service was great and everyone was super nice and helpful. I would suggest this places to anyone!

The first time I came here I got a pizza, and it was OK. The second time, I got a burger, and was blown away!
My original review would have been 3-​stars, but they are now getting a bump from me!
Tap selection is very good, better than most bars in Anchorage, but perhaps not quite as good as the Eagle River location.
I got the jalapeño burger and it was excellent. These are the types of burgers that are good more because of the sum of their parts: fresh crispy fixin’s and great buns, rather than the quality of their beef. That’s not to say the beef was bad, it’s just not the main-​sell.
And, just to reiterate: incredible taps. They have things on tap here I didn’t know you could get in Alaska.
It’s also open till 10 pm, which makes it one few «late night» places in sleepy Palmer to grab a bite.

Slooowwwwww service. More like a social hour than work for them I guess. Tomato bisque was delicious… my salad was ok. Big chunks of veggies with iceberg lettuce. Others at the table ordered various burritos and burgers and everything was decent but nothing great.

Where do I start? There’s a lot going on in this place. They have almost any type of beer you can think of on tap. I believe it right around 40 different taps, plus some bottles. The atmosphere is good and inviting. Several large televisions a couple different rooms and usually pretty full most evenings. The food is all in all really good. The only thing (and a pretty small thing) that was kinda weird was the pizzas. There are a half dozen or so «house pies» and few options on ordering a pizza with the toppings you want. All of the pizzas are 12, maybe 14 inches (my best guess) but they’re pretty small, and run $ 20. All in all a really good spot! If you get the chance, I highly recommend a trip here.

Favorite place to go too for dinner in the valley! Great service, beer, atmosphere, and food. My husband and I have been here several times and have liked everything we ordered. The cheese fries are amazing but we never can finish them! The only down side is all the TV’S to where my husband gets distracted.

Service was fast and friendly. Beware, the cheese fries are delicious but HUGE. We hardly made a dent. We had a kid’s hamburger and a chicken taco (one was PLENTY) and were stuffed. Great beer menu, too!

My thoughts were about the same as everybody else’s the food was ok a little pricey but it’s also Palmer so that’s to be expected. The beer selection is amazing with a lot of great local brews. The service was horrible at best. We sat outside at the only picnic table available and the waitress not once but twice complained to us because of were we chose to sit, again not that there was any other option. She never refilled our water and waited until half way through the meal before bringing us the sodas we order before anything else. I’m all about supporting local and I think this place has all the potential in the world just need to find real servers.
TO BAD THE OWNERS WILL NEVER RESPOND TO ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS THAT SEEM TO BE THE SAME. HOPEFULLY THEY KNOW ABOUT Unilocal SO THEY CAN FIX THE ISSUES AT HAND AND HELP CREATE ANOTHER LONG LASTING VALLEY ESTABLISHMENT.

I ordered beer and cheeseburger with black/​blue fries from a very friendly waitress. The turnaround from order to being served was longer than I expected but the food was worth the wait.
