Tried to pass by yesterday only to discover I came here too late: windows were covered with paper and the phone number was disconnected. Came home and discovered their website is down and Facebook page too. Seems like this business is closed. :( I have only tried their donuts when others have brought them to get-togethers. The flavors were always creative and quality ingredients. RIP.

i’m a fan, but when I can eat the food. on 3 occasions, we have visited and they have been short of menu times. 1st time: out of filet mignon for the sandwich so hubby had chicken which is great but still. 2nd time: out of croissant for breakfast sandwich so he chose baguette and I chose sour dough bread but that egg aint nothing without that delicious croissant. 3rd visit: out of baguette for chicken sandwich and I had it on sour dough bread and not the same at all. also, I wanted fresh squeezed OJ and hubby saw them pour OJ out of Tropicana carton, so forget that. it was good but I can buy that at Publix. i still like the food but I really hope they master the inventory.

Hubby and I went there a few days ago and am now getting around to reviewing it. These are not your average donuts, thicker and Doughier than usual, but they are nonetheless delicious. The fillings are dollops on rather than injected into the donut, but though making it a bit messier it also means every bite is filled with the filling of choice. Donuts tasted fresh, their coffee was equally Fresh and delicious. We also had the lobster bisque, and boy was that a HUGE winner For us. Creamy, filling, delicious, and again FRESH. I guess the upside to eating in these small businesses is that everything is made in smaller batches, so you don’t have to worry about eating stale donuts and coffee, or old soups and sandwiches. However the downside of this place is the price and the fact there is only one table to sit down in. We spent about 22 bucks for small coffee, two lobster bisque and 4 donuts for later. Donuts range in price $ 1.50-$ 2.55. Because of this reason alone this is a place I will go maybe once in a blue moon, versus a staple place for sat brunch/breakfast. Seeing as I live in the area that is a bit unfortunate. To sum up, a great place to try out. Expect a relatively pricey bill, but prob not a daily haunt.

Have you ever been to hidden spot in a really random place? Cutler Bay is not exactly trendy by any way shape or form. Yet this donut shop is here stuck between a barbershop and a Jamaican patty place. Mandarin is a breathe of fresh air for me personally. The food, and donuts are all made in house and from scratch. Everything here is really good and fresh. If you have a donut I would recommend the apple fritter, it is amazing. For lunch they have a steak sandwich with some pesto on it and it is whats on my menu today.

I have been dying to try this place out so I decided to do just that after I dropped my dog off at Jan T Groomers. They did not have a great selection out and on the board there were loads of selection when I asked about it I was told that the only selections they have is what is out. I purchased my half dozen donuts and headed home to enjoy. The first one I tried was the guava and cheese. Not sure where the cheese was. and I thought I was going to bite into this pillowy soft doughnut but that was not the case at all. It was dense and dry. I then tried the dulce de leche one… a glazed doughnut with some dulce de leche drizzled on it… same thing… I was not really impressed…

This is a great little gem hidden in Cutler Bay. If you didn’t know it was there you would just drive on by. I dropped by the other day on my way home for a little lunch and a snack and I fell in love with this place the moment I walked in. It reminds me of little cafés in New York. It’s a tiny place with only one table and a high top in front of the window but its nice and cozy. Not only do they have donuts(as you would imagine based on the name) but they also have gourmet sandwiches and soups. I tried the grilled chicken which was served on a baguette with spinach and tomato and melted mozzarella with olive oil and then pressed in a panini grill. The sandwich was a little on the tiny side… so I would recommend one of the sides to go with it. Even though it was a little on the smaller side it was really delicious. I couldn’t go to a donut shop and not have a little pillow of delicious dough… so for dessert I had the black cherry donut which was great. It’s a bit of a twist on a jelly donut because the jelly was in a dollop on the outside instead of being injected inside… and then its dusted with some powder sugar. It was really good… not overly sweet… it was just right.

I don’t know why it’s called Mandarin Gourmet Donut Shoppe considering it has nothing to do with an Asian bakery, but it was still delicious. Sublime Donuts in Atlanta still holds the #1 spot in my heart for donuts, but this place deserves it if I hadn’t been there.

When I saw the sign for Mandarin Gourmet Donut Shoppe, I immediately thought Yes! Thai donuts… wait… Thai? Anyway, it was late and the store closes at 4pm so I made it my mission to go the next day. I could see why I didn’t know about this place it is a small storefront, inside a small strip mall, on a small side street off of US1 and 184th street. You get my point. When I walked in I was delighted to see so many different varieties of donuts, I knew I was going to have a hard time choosing one or two to take home. The hubby and I ended up getting four things, the pistachio donut, the blueberry mascarpone turnover, the flan filled donut, and the chocolate vanilla custard donut. Whew. Hubby said both the pistachio and blueberry were a little to heavy for his taste but the toppings and fillings were good. I agree, I thought the dough was a little dense but the fillings were delicious. The flan filling tasted just like flan but it pudding form, while the vanilla custard filling had little black flecks of real vanilla which is always a good sign. The shop also sells sandwiches and soups for lunch. We went later in the afternoon and the aforementioned Lobster Bisque was sold out, but we will definitely swing by again to try their sandwiches and soups. The owner mentioned everything but the bagels and croissants are made on premises which should prove to be delicious. To be continued…

Great doughnuts! I stopped in by chance thinking that this place was an Asian bakery, but once I got inside there was no sign of Asian… anywhere. I was disappointed, but since I was already in there I felt like I had to get something. So we got 4 doughnuts and a caprise sandwich. Let me just start by saying that I really don’t even like doughnuts. At all. Blueberry mascarpone filled turnover doughnut: OMGSOGOOD. The dough was very well made, not like the boring type of doughnut where every bite is the same. There were real blueberries inside and tons of filling. Yum! Hazelnut dip doughnut: Like I said, the dough on these things is delicious. Hazelnut topping was great! Vanilla gourmet custard doughnut: YUM! Love the custard! And I usually do not love custard. Tons of filling! Caprise sandwich: Just had one bite, but it was delicious. The freshness of the pesto really made the sandwich unique. The owner of the place was really nice, and I had a good time chatting with her and her two kids. I loved the atmosphere, and I felt like I could sit down with a cup of coffee and my laptop and just hang out for a while. Even if you’re not a doughnut person, I would def recommend giving this place a chance!

Donuts… meh… maybe not! But sandwiches, oh yes!!! I tried their donuts with high expectations, I thought they were going to be fluffier, but they were ok. What I totally loved about this little shop is how the owner has arranged everything, it definitely feels cozy!!! We headed for lunch, from what I hear the lobster bisque is very good. By the time we got there, it was already gone! and it was around 1:30pm. The sandwiches are made right there when you order it. I totally loved their sandwiches!!! We had the chicken garlic with pecans and raisins and the grilled meat one too. Both of them were REALLY good, ingredients were fresh! The chicken garlic was a bit garlic, but perfect for my taste! If you don’t like garlic, may not be the choice for you! I look forward to ordering another sandwich soon! The owner is really nice! I liked how their menu is hand written on the wall, on a chalk board, but it’s just not the menu it’s the whole decoration and what entails the menu. When you visit, look at the menu and you’ll see what I mean. I think it’s so original.

Not too shabby. I’m not going to lie, we went in expecting to see a Chinese doughnut shop, but found regular-nothing-to-do-with-it’s-storename doughnuts(which after talking to the owner about the origin of the name made me even more confused about the kids learning Mandarin and eventually opening stores in China… but to each his/her own). Ok, maybe not regular, because where else can you find flan or guava filled doughnuts? The(tiny) filled doughnuts were yum. Although the filling is on top and eventually leads to a slightly soggy doughnut & skimpy filling, they were delicious. It might’ve made a better product to have the doughnuts filled the old-fashion way of inside to prevent sogginess later on. We also got a chocolate hazelnut on, which had a DOLLOP of chocolate hazelnut frosting on the doughnut… basically a plain doughnut with a drop of icing where the hazelnut flavor was not even discernible. I’d definitely go back for the flan & guava doughnuts for their uniqueness, but all the doughnuts are overpriced. They are good, but I’m not sure about the price-point…both for the size and value. The owner was pretty nice too. I still want Chinese doughnuts… and not those nasty Americanized ones at the buffets.

As a California native who is used to seeing a donut shop in every strip mall, I was on a mission to find a donut shop that WASN’T a Dunkin Donuts or a Krispy Kreme here in Miami. That’s when I stumbled across reviews about Mandarin Gourmet Donut Shoppe and decided to pay a visit. The shop is pretty small and the display of treats was small as well. By the time I arrived at the shop, it was 1pm and most of the donut displays were empty, but the lady said that she can go in the back and prepare the donuts that I’m interested in purchasing. She gave me a little menu so I can see the different types of flavors they had. I chose a dozen of the following: — Gourmet Glaze — Chocolate Dip — Chocolate Sprinkles Dip — Hazelnut Dip — Vanilla Gourmet Custard — Dark Chocolate Custard — Caramelized Apple Pie Filling — Flan The donut dough is a little on the heavy side, almost breadlike, but they were absolutely delicious! The Flan donut was my favorite and the Caramelized Apple Pie filling came in second. The total for the dozen and two Triple Chocolate Chip cookies was under $ 20, which I thought was a pretty good deal! I would definitely visit this shop again for my next donut fix!

I can sometimes be possessed quite literally by my sweet tooth. I get a sudden overwhelming urge for sugar that transforms me into a wild creature which can only be satisfied by devouring the most decadent of desserts. My cravings possessed me to hijack a friend with a similar sweet tooth and drive about 15 mins south of Kendall to Palmetto Bay off US1 to a little whole in the wall mom-n-pop gourmet donut shop. We were giddy and mesmerized over the powdered sugar display of dozens of tiered donuts dripping with sugared glaze and eruptions of fresh fruit fillings like apple pie, blackberry, raspberry which overflowed from their centers… shall I go on? Nutella and chocolate, flan, guava and cinnamon twist doughnuts also begged to be eaten. My absolute guilty pleasure has now become the marshmallow donut, with powdered sugar and soft creamy melted marshmallow center. sigh. I paid for this binge with a nasty sugar hangover that had me wondering what came over me when I sobered up and found an empty box with just crumbs before me. You MUST visit this sweet little donut shop, they truly are gourmet and worth every penny. I like that the ingredients are all natural, no trans-fat and not factory made like«krispy kreme» eww… Pick up a dozen for a brunch or office party, they will be a total hit!

Krispy Kreme EATYOURHEARTOUT! Mandarin Gourmet Donut Shoppe is the epitome of a hidden jem! Never would I ever have ventured into this shopping center without hearing endless rants about these donuts. My love affair with these donuts began with my first bite, and now we have weekly«booty calls». The regular-sized donuts are anything but regular. Think massive, fluffy pillows of sweet dough covered in a sugary glaze. And that’s not even including the toppings!!! They have the greatest assortment of flavors I have ever seen: FLAN, Dulce de Leche drizzle, and Lemon are my favorites. My advice, call ahead and place a custom order with your favorite flavors! They’ll box them up and wrap it with a bow.(The little things really do count!) Oh, and for all you diet-fiends order the donut dots because face it, you’re allowed to cheat every once in a while. LIVE A LITTLE!

The best donuts around here. To start they look great and when you bite into it… yumm… Not too sweet they also taste very fresh and natural. My favorites were raspberry glaze, blueberry and mascarpone cheese, and chocolate custard. It’s absolutely worth ordering :)

Been craving donuts for some time and dunkin donuts just doesn’t cut it! I’ve been spoiled w/mini gourmet cupcakes around town and wanted the same experience for my donuts. Soo. I went«googling» for the best donuts in Miami and stumbled across Mandarin Gourmet Donuts. Of course I came on over to Unilocal to make sure these donuts were yummy! Placed my order, waited, and almost passed out when they arrived. Wow! You have NOT had a real donut until you have had a Gourmet donut. Since my first order, I have ordered about 4 – 5 times for my family and friends. Love Mandarin Gourmet Donuts!

Tired of the same ol’ donut? MGDS is the place for you, or I should say website for you. Although they don’t have an actual location, they deliver throughout Miami 7 days a week. You can definitely taste the difference from your very first bite. These donuts are out of this world delicious and are made with high quality products. They are fried in 0 grams trans fat which is great for those looking for a semi healthy excuse to eat donuts. MGDS offers packages that start as low as $ 25 and have a great variety of donuts to choose from. Perfect for any special occasion or in my case, an office meeting. My favorites include: white chocolate dip, cinnamon twist and hazelnut dip. So go ahead and order some donuts, you know you want to!

To call this place a shoppe is a little bit of a stretch because the Mandarin Gourmet Donut Shoppe has yet to open a retail location. Right now these delectable donuts of sweet goodness are only available via delivery to wherever your heart desires. Tiring of traditional meeting food I convinced my co workers to go out on a limb and we ordered one of their packages. Our box of donut filled heaven arrived promptly before our meeting with about 36hrs advanced notice and there was not a crumb left behind. Hopped up on sugar we were able to make it through that work day a little easier thanks to Mandarin Gourmet Donuts!
