First time here after buying our new retirement home at Lake Monticello. Food was awesome and the server was very pleasant and attentive. Look to make it our new favorite place.

Everyone was very nice but the food and décor did not meet expectations. The wine and beer lists would take little effort to drastically improve. The food was basic with no refinement. Not for foodies. The wrinkled plastic table cloth suggests that the manager is not interested in providing an excellent dining experience.

THISIS A THANKSGIVINGMEALREVIEWONLY. visiting family at lake Monticello and we all decided to do thanksgiving at the ashlawn grille. it was a very good meal… everything you could want for a traditional thanksgiving meal, and as much of it as you could want to eat. I spoke with the manager/owner/chef(?) as he served me and had a great conversation. he told me that when they first opened they always closed for thanksgiving. then he found out some of the older patrons didn’t feel up to cooking a big thanksgiving meal… so he started this tradition. seating is limited to 200 reservations, served at certain times thruout the day. the turkey was outstanding. the salmon appetizer bar could have been a meal in itself. i thought both soups were very good. if i could make one change i would have both types of cranberry sause. im a jelly man. highly recommend this option for thanksgiving if you live close enough.

I love this place. It’s quiet, has a small necessities bar stock, and the staff is friendly and knowledgable of the menu. The chef even rounded the tables to assure that food was prepared to our liking.

Yummy food, gorgeous view, lovely service… all around a great place. Ashlawn Grille is located within the Lake Monticello neighborhood. You have to go in through the gate to get there. It can be quite dark at night. I went here looking for a caterer for our wedding. Skip, the owner, was so accommodating and really great to work with. The Chicken Cordon Bleu and brussel sprouts were so yummy. Their food is basic, nothing too adventurous or flashy, but good quality food.

I really like Ashlawn. They’re close to home, they always make great food(burgers, baked potatoes, and salads are always yum), and they offer delicious holiday buffets for Easter and Thanksgiving, both of which I’ve gone to. I really appreciate that they do that as our family is in another state and it’s a lovely way to acknowledge and enjoy the holidays without having to make a big meal for only two people at home. The clubhouse is pretty nice. The crowd is usually older, as it’s located in Lake Monticello.

KH and I drove there yesterday for the crème brûlée and had diner. Their food is great, not expensive, the service is very attentive and the brûlée met and exceeded expectations. I will definitely give it 5 stars and go back often.

DH and I have been fans since this place opened. Skip, Tamara and the staff provide excellent food at reasonable prices. What impresses us the most is that none of their stuff is Sysco stuff out of a can or frozen food bag. Their fare is fresh and home made, including the real Caesar salad dressing made from scratch. While there menu is not particularly large, they do tend to offer specials, mostly on the weekends(Prime Rib on Fridays, etc). I especially like their Ashlawn Grilled Chicken Salad and their salmon. Be sure to try their crème brûlée, which is made with a hint of lavender and absolutely delicious. Now if only LMOA(the landlord) would renovate the dining room area for them.

Our wedding reception was hosted by Skip Alston and his staff years ago, so it was natural to return for our anniversary. Skip and Takers went all out for us, from organizing a special floral arrangement through a delicious main course to a chocolate dessert. Truly a special effort on a special occasion.

I gave this 3 stars, which reads«A-Ok» which is exactly how I feel about this place. I LOVE the outdoor seating. The wait staff is very helpful and nice. The problem is the consistency of food preparation. First, their menu is small and never changes. Ive eaten here for 2 – 3 years and its always the same menu. Second, the food is very hit or miss. Sometimes you’ll go and the food is beyond excellent. Sometimes you’ll go and the food is disappointing. The salmon is almost always quite good. The steak last time was very overcooked. I ordered it medium rare and got a steak that was medium well or well done. I think if you go earlier in the evening you get better service and better food, as it typically services an older crowd.

Hands down best Americana restaurant in Fluvanna. Not an expansive menu, but everything is good. Great service and good pricing. I prefer their burgers to Red Robin and Rivahsyde. The Ashlawn chicken salad is to die for!

The restaurant oversees Lake Monticello and is located inside a gated community… pretty cool place to visit and the drive there is very scenic… the food is simple but great! salmon is best seller and they ran out of it… sad… but i got the prime rib and it was pretty decent for a place that is in the middle of nowhere… rice is affordable and the view is awesome. Came here after visiting Ashlawn highlands… well its like 15 mins but definitely worth a visit!
