As we all know, moving generally stinks, but sometimes it is also an opportunity to be humbled by the kindness of strangers. During my 6-month«stay»(if you will) at Carlin’s, the folks who help run the facility and storage accounts went above and beyond to help make everything go as easy as possible. Nobody wants to ever have to put their stuff in storage, and there can be stressful or extenuating circumstances surrounding the move. Even though that’s the business they’re in, I think they«get» that. I was initially the most enthusiastic about storing my stuff with Carlin’s because of their proximity to where I was going to be living in the interim, but when I learned that they offer climate controlled units, I was sold! And, believe me, it’s worth it – when I first moved to PA, I went with a different storage facility in town, and after storing with them for just one year, everything was filthy! After 6 months with Carlin’s my belongings were just as I’d left them. I felt 100% certain that my belongings were secure the entire time I rented from them. Setting up a rental agreement was easy and so was ending it. It was all very simple and the guy in the office was really easy to work with when I had questions or concerns. The woman who handles the billing portion is also very helpful. In fact, I just called to see if they’d send me a record of all my invoices for tax-filing purposes, and she sent it over within minutes: that is great service! Don’t quote me on this, but I believe I learned somewhere along the way that they were the only storage facility offering climate controlled units outside of Harrisburg. The trick is grabbing a unit while it is still available. If you are in the market for this, give them a call ASAP! In closing: great, fast, attentive service. I hope I never have to store(or move, for that matter) anything again, but if I had to, I’d love for the place to be just like Carlin’s!
