I live half the year in Massachusetts and when I return to Palo Alto, this is the first store I hit! I have far too many clothes from there but I cannot resist their comfortable styles and easy fit for those of us who are NOT size 00 with tiny waistlines. The clothes wash and travel well, are timeless in style, and the sales help are really terrific. The older lady always tells me what REALLY looks good and what doesn’t when I try them on. I LOVE this store.

I’d be embarrassed to admit how many Bryn Walker shirts and pants I have in my closet – but over the years I’ve collected them in a parade of flattering styles and a rainbow of vibrant colors. And I still love wearing every one! Bryn Walker clothing is the ultimate wardrobe for women who want to be well dressed as well as comfortable. The styles can be dressed up for a party, down for grocery shopping, or anything in between. The fabrics and workmanship are notably high quality, which means they fit gracefully, drape beautifully, and last and last and last. And every season brings an exciting new palette of colors from subtle to bold. Occasionally I try on other lines of clothing. But I have yet to find anything that matches Bryn Walker’s special combination of quality, style, and comfort.

I shop in the Palo Alto store, love their clothes, and find their customer service fantastic! They are(mostly) natural fibers, and unlike anything that Macy’s or Nordstrom will carry. Even though it was a sale day and an art & wine festival ½ block away, the 2 women working there could not have beenb more patient or helpful.

I chose to shop at Bryn Walker after admiring a friend’s outfit and wanting something like it for myself. Also I liked that it is based in the bay area and it is sustainable clothing. I had one of the best shopping experiences I can remember having in years. Although there were other customers in the store, Alex made me feel like she was my personal shopper. Barbara and Alex both helped me accessorize my new outfits by picking an assortment of beautiful scarves for me to choose from. As to service, it was A+ from start to finish. My purchases were nicely folded and wrapped in tissue paper before being put in the bag. I left feeling pampered and well taken care of from start to finish. FYI — I am beyond the 20 something crowd and do not consider myself a matronly dresser. The outfits I purchased are simple and classic and can be dressed up or down. Exactly what I was looking for — something I could wear across environments. In addition, the store referral was from a friend who is a very artsy and unique dresser.

I walked by here as I have a million times before, but this time I decided to peruse the sale rack they usually have outside. Everything was definitely not my style except… a vest that looked interesting. I picked it up and went inside to try it on. Bryn Walker is definitely not aimed at the 20-something crowd(inclusive of myself), but more so for 50+. They carry a ton of cotton-type material, but in actuality it’s mostly made of bamboo which is kind of neat. I stumbled across a sale rack inside of super flowy, comfy sweaters that almost look like robes. I ended up picking one up because it was $ 35, originally $ 75. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a good deal. I don’t think I’ll be back unless I’m in the mood to peruse again because this store really doesn’t carry apparel that suits my style. But, this is no reason to give a store 2 stars. The store gets 2 stars because the customer service BLOWS! The lady that assisted me was kind of pushy. I was trying to decide between two sweater jackets and she told me to just get both. That wasn’t so bad, but I think those are lame sales attempts. I mean it was obvious she works on commission. There is nothing wrong with working on commission, many of us have done it, myself included. When I worked on commission I certainly didn’t want to make it obvious I did because it not only makes customers feel uncomfortable, but it makes everything that comes out of a sales girl’s mouth sound insincere. Anyways, I brushed that off and soon heard the sales lady start talking on the phone to her friend. She was on the phone for a good 10 – 15 minutes. She was off the phone by the time I got to the register. I handed her my two selections to ring up. She scans them and says, «OK.» Um, am I missing something? We share a moment of silence and I wait for her to tell me my total. She doesn’t. Finally, I just ask her and she oh so politely let’s me know my grand total. Next time I’ll just stand there and continue to stare at her and embrace the silence until she realizes that ringing someone up generally includes informing them of their total.

If I were in my 50s or 60s, wanted to look somewhat sporty but yet stylish, I would probably shop here. Oh– I would need some cash to do so also. Otherwise, and since I am not THAT old yet, well, I am passing. The clothes are cotton and matronly. They do have some cute scarves. I did pick one of them up for my mother– who is in her 60s, but still looks young. She would not wear these clothes– they are too matronly for her.
