Best place where I can buy earthy, sophisticated, unrefined stuff. I don’t have to care about brand. I love every single things here.

There are 2 stores — Palo Alto and Menlo Park. Merchandise very similar but customer service in MP much better and some items are lower price. I really like the tunics. Great for travel, hand wash and wear. Always get compliments. I recommend improving customer service in Palo Alto. Welcome customers, answer questions and smile. It will improve business.

Huge variety, beautiful items for sale. Staff dosent have the best English, i never know what they are saying. A bit pricey compared to other similar stores. I will definitely recommend.

Service was non existent. Walked in while the staff were laughing and having a conversation. Never acknowledged the fact I was there. Never bothered to ask if they could help me. Found things to be a bit overpriced for the quality they were selling, but I was initially in the mood to shop. Unfortunately, they’d made up their minds, either judging me by the clothes I wore or the color of my skin that I wasn’t worth bothering with. I spent my money elsewhere and I won’t be back.

The store has a certain flair, with many(if not most) Tibetan/Asian clothing, home décor, and other trinkets. Since Starbucks is right next door, I stop by Dolma often. Once I chatted with the owner’s daughter — she was super nice and helped me pick a few jewelry items for myself. I absolutely LOVE their gemstone jewelry — they have a very large selection of labradorite, rainbow moonstone, turquoise, and other semi-precious stone jewelry. One issue is the prices of those pieces — most of them are gold PLATED but the price is more like for actual gold. Their clothing items seem popular but not really my style, I imagine older women liking it more. The parking on University Ave is always tricky, but there is a bank parking lot right next to Dolma that always has space, so if you are quick and discrete, you might be able to run in and out :)

I love the Indian tops they have but it’s priced a little too high. What upsets me the most is the fact that they don’t have refunds. Only store credit and they had that put up in very small size next to billing machine where nobody would see. Play some music and be more pleasant . I’m disappointed.

About the Palo Alto store. We visited the store and had a very bad service from the beginning. The lady would not come out from behind the register to help out my wife. It was very awful to experience such a service. However, my wife bought a very cute shirt from the Palo Alto store and wore it once and washed. When she was ironing it for the first time she noticed it had a hole on it. Clearly it was a damaged product. She went back to get it exchanged but the same lady was very rude and claimed that was damaged by us. Absolutely bad service. I hope the owner reads and does something about the lady who has bad customer service. Do not buy from her or that store.

This is a good place to look for those one-of gifts(for girls and women mostly). The prices for being in downtown Menlo Park in prime location is surprisingly not outrageous. Lots of cotton, wool and silk clothing and accessories primarily from the Himalayan region. The service may seem odd for people who have never been out of the US or have led a very sheltered life. It can be quite good if you don’t make them uncomfortable because of their non-native-speaking English that they seem to be self-conscious of.

Artsy Asian /South Asian Fashion Made Modern Located right in the center of Artsy downtown Paly. Cute tunics with a flare of Asian culture. Trinkets and pull string bags. Colorful fashions. Buddha galore. Recommend for those who love all things artsy and Asian.

I was able to get almost half my Christmas shopping done in this lovely boutique. I found the most unique, handmade gifts– ranging from handwoven slippers made in Nepal for my brother to scarves woven into flowers for my bff and Ma(ok, I got one for myself too). Lots of other goodies for all walks of people. Jewelry, house furnishings, clothing, trinkets, etc. The service was amazing, attentive, without being in your face. Both men smiled at me and made holiday shopping a little less miserable. Price: quality = amazing *There was a clearance section towards the back of the store Dolma allowed me to get presents for six completely different people, without entering the mall and exit the store in under 30 minutes. Plus, they didn’t yell at me for bringing in my tea(with no cap– I didn’t spill). If that’s not five shiny, red stars… not sure what is.

I’ve done a huge amount of my holiday shopping for The Wife here, because this place has so may things which appeal to her, especially the clothes. There are many beautiful tops and dresses which are generally loose-fitting styles from India or Tibet, and they range in price depending on the intricacy of the design and the type of material. I also bought a very cool jacket for Small Dragon. In addition to the clothes, I’ve picked up many an elephant-related knick-knacks and jewelry, and the kids can find something for their Mom in their price range as well, like scarves or whatever. They also have some antique cabinets which seem rather over-priced to me, but that’s not why I’m there, so fine. There’s a fitting room available as well.

It is a pity that I feel compelled to leave a bad review. Because they have some really cool and different merchandise. But the woman who works there is really mean and has zero comprehension about the meaning of customer service. When I entered the store, the lady didn’t bother greeting me but was instead busy chatting with a friend sittin beside her. I tried on a garment. there was no price tag. I went to ask for the cost. Without hesitation she gave me a price. Then she went to the rack where I found the garment, looked at the price tags and then quoted me a much higher price. When I questioned whether she is sure, she, in broken but rather rude English said something to the effect that I can take it or leave it. Well, I left it. It is too bad because I have purchased things in this store in the past. The man I dealt with, although he didn’t speak much English, was at least pleasant. This woman should not be in customer service.
