Elly’s Piano Studio

Elly has been teaching piano to our two daughters for over 5 years now and we are thrilled we found her.
Our daughters (now 10 and 14) have really developed a deep interest in music. Both kids listen to a lot of different types of music and have a keen ear. For example, I was showing a Jon Stewart clip to my 14 yr old and the first thing she noticed was the music he used to introduce the segment.
Both the girls enjoy Elly’s classes and think she is fun. When the kids were younger, she would give them prizes for practicing regularly and later on she has found other ways to encourage them. She is able to challenge them more when they breeze through a piece and to slow down and help them when they struggle.
She tailors her teaching in other ways too. I notice that the kids will often find the sheet music for a piece they like and ask her to help them with it. She is able to work with their ability and interest and to help them discover and learn music in their own way.
We had hoped, when we started classes, that our children would learn to play and appreciate music. We find that they do more. They actively explore music. They tinker at the piano, compose tunes, and look up composers of background tunes they notice while watching animé.

We are so happy that we found Elly as our 2 children’s piano teacher. Both of our children had piano lesson for 2 years oversea. Since we moved back to this area, we spend some good amount of time searching and trying out with few teachers. We want to make the change of piano teacher a positive opportunity for the better.
Elly’s communication skill, patience, and teaching tactic have making this transition as easy as it can be. The kids are getting good education of music. The best thing is which we never expected, everytime after pick our kids up, they just seem more centered, calm, and their attitudes are light and positive! Elly’s studio does wonder!

We have had the pleasure of learning piano from Ms. Elly for the past 3 years. Our daughter (9) has improved greatly under Elly’s training, and our son (6) has uncovered a musical side as well. Our youngest can’t wait until she is old enough to join in the fun. The best part is that Elly offers studio and HOME lessons, which makes our lives so much easier. Highest praise!
