Harry Dennis, MD

Our three children have been patients of Dr. Dennis since birth and have been under his care for the past six years. Dr. Dennis is very knowledgeable, professional and gets the jobs done. We haven’t always agreed on diagnosis or treatment– but he has always listened to my concerns and given his advice and opinions in a helpful and timely manner. When our youngest daughter was very ill and hospitalized shortly after birth he monitored the situation closely– called me several times a day and was in constant contact with the hospital. He is taking more time off and it can be harder to get an appointment with him several times a year (part of this has to do with the sometimes poor organization of PAMF and not him)…but he is a shining star and leader at the peds department… I refer him to everyone I know without hesitation.

We went to Dr. Dennis after we had a couple bad experiences while searching for a new doctor after we moved. One doctor told me that it was all in my head when I mentioned my daughter was sick all the time (see my other review on him), but Dr. Dennis took it seriously and immediately gave me some advice on how to address the situation with small changes without medicine.
When our latest baby was born, she had a terrible problem with eating to the point where she was in danger of ending up in the hospital. He was understanding and helpful, and within a few days he got her back on the growth track. Then a couple weeks ago, I went in to talk to him about my 5 year-​old son who had a problem I had read about online. I had ignored it until now, but it was one of those totally «crazy moms» moments where I thought it was possibly really all in my head. Dr. Dennis immediately recognized the problem and spoke directly to my son on how to fix it. My son has been completely onboard and always says, «The doctor told me to be good and do this.»
He is super caring and speaks to children directly. He teaches them responsibility for their own health and shows them ways to address any issues.

We’ve used Dr. Dennis for both our children since birth, and now they are 7 and 10. He correctly diagnosed a rare syndrome which it turns out almost no pediatricians know about. He consulted with a neurologist without even being asked and figured it out on his own, saving us a lot of precious time. He also worked quickly to help us get a referral to Stanford for specialist care. Dr. Dennis has a wonderful manner and I highly recommend him.

I research who I want for my son’s pediatrician and I read lot of good reviews about Dr. Dennis. My first visit I was very happy. His very professional and care alot about his patient. He’s funny and very charming.
One thing I didn’t like about him he didn’t really support me much about breastfeeding. I felt discourage when he recommend formula and told me I would have enough milk for my baby. I don’t think he knows anything about the importance of breastfeeding. If you have problem go to Lache League.
But overall I’m very happy to have him for my son’s pediatrician. His very caring… makes you feel like a family. Great doctor!
