Since FLUC has become Miles, It has been horrible. We used them once for our office event and they were late, rude and the food was cold. Shortly after, I started receiving solicitation calls from them on my cell phone almost on a regular basis. I would repeatedly tell them that I was not interested in their business and to be removed from their list. They would assure me that they would do it but then I would receive another barrage of solicitation calls that would disrupt my day. I received a call today and I told the kid on the line that I have asked repeatedly to take my info out of their system. He shot me a snotty attitude and told me that there was no record of me asking to have my info removed and that he «Didn’t know what else to do» WELLKIDDO! HOWABOUTYOUREMOVEMYINFO? Simple as that! Horrible customer service. I would much rather use a real catering company. Thanks for nothing! PS: My colleague received this e-mail from another customer service rep after she asked to be removed: Hey Jasmin, I have located the email source in which you asked to be stop being contacted. I have no record of you asking on this account, nor any call notes. Anyhow, you have been removed from the list and should not receive any direct email in the future from me. If you are on a marketing email, I don’t know and that is out of my hands, but there should always be a unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email. Good riddance, Daniel (Daniel Kreitter)

We used Miles frequently throughout the week and I love their service! They have a lot of restaurants to choose from and cover all different types of cuisine. Their professional drivers are always friendly and set up our food on-time. We recently switched over to their Full Service option where we let them know our dietary restrictions, budget, food preferences, when we want it delivered and they take care of the rest including setup and cleanup! Keep it up!

Our office manager wanted to try something new and we were all expecting the same old from all these services(they all promise the same stuff). We loved it — food came, they setup everything professionally and they gave us 2 cuisines — mexican and chinese at the same time. I’ve never had that before from other services — so that was amazing for the engineering team who wanted our weekly lunch to be mexican over chinese(so literally the entire company was happy). Btw we are like 75 people or so — so it wasn’t a small order. Not sure whether the other Unilocalers have actually used the service but really great experience — we’ll be using them again!

And I quote«Order volume now matters more than quality» That is a direct quote from the CEO of this ridiculous company. Wow! I know that this is an accepted norm, but for a CEO to USEIT as fodder for an announcement is downright stupid. Let’s take a step back and put a frame of reference around my irritation and dismal rating. This service USEDTOBE phenomenal when they were called FLUC and actually catered to the individual in need of food delivery. Even at $ 6.00 per delivery it was worth it because they delivered from tons of great places. NOW they’ve changed their name to Miles and stopped supporting orders from individuals. INFACT, you can’t even sign up using your Gmail or Yahoo account. My old account is in their system, but I can’t log in and when I try to retrieve my credentials it says it’s not a «VALIDCORPORATEEMAIL»! LIKEWENEEDANOTHERCORPORATEDELIVERYSERVICE!!! By the way, the post by Art S. is one of their planted ones. It should be removed as a blatant marketing post. Unlike«Miles — Art. S.», I’m the REALDEAL. I used to use them multiple times per week… I’d say daily, but there were occasions when I’d cook or order the odd pizza. I LOVED Fluc. I recommended them to anyone who would listen. Tim and Pako don’t care about those of us who kept them running all these months, who provided them and their drivers with our business. I know it’s a harsh thing to say, but I truly hope Miles is going to fall flat on their face. The beauty of what they USED to do is that they answered a REAL need that had tremendous impact on the little guy. I thought they cared. I was wrong. This change has convinced me of that, so they now have earned their karmic comeuppance. As Tim said in his announcement letter, obviously order volume now matters more than quality to these morons. [heavy sarcasm] Congratulations guys! You’re no longer unique. You are NOW one of many avenues available to corporate america, Well done. [end heavy sarcasm] In fact, I guess I should be thanking you for saving me hundreds of dollars per week!

Today was my company’s first day using MILES, formerly FLUC. The office ordered $ 400+ worth of burgers and fries and it arrived on time, and was almost perfect — a small part of our order was missing so the driver investigated and went back to get it. Aw well, no big. All us carnivores had plenty to get started, ate together, and were happy. FLUCNEEDEDTOMAKETHATCHANGE So why change to MILES? First off, the name FLUC rhymes with all sorts of ugly words like ‘muck’, ‘suck’, and ‘shmuck’. Thus, they changed the name to a happy word that rhymes with like ‘smiles’, ‘dials’, and ‘-philes’. Good move. MILESNEEDSTO «MAKETHATCHANGE» As in make that cashola. The really big change is they now require all orders to be at least $ 80. They’ve chosen to completely eliminate small, random orders that probably generate more headaches than profits for MILES, restaurants, and drivers. If all goes well, fewer and more expensive orders will be much easier to manage and the cash registers will cha-ching louder. WHOWILLUSE&HOW Organizations, or any group of hungry people, can order from the website. Individual members of an order can receive a special link to select exactly what they want. One debit/credit card, however, will have to cover the entire group’s big ol’ bill. Not sure why MILES forces it all on one card because this will definitely discourage a significant amount of people from getting started. Seems to hinder scalability, so hopefully this will also change. BUTTHEYSTILLMARKUPTHEMENUITEMS – THESNEAKS! Back to our lunch, just like the old days of FLUC, each burger we ordered was still marked up a good $ 3. For example, Bacon Cheeseburger at 5GUYS is $ 6.99; same Bacon Cheeseburger from MILES: $ 10.50– and that markup is not mentioned anywhere in the transaction for obvious reasons. But since my office is paying for it, it’s not my motherFLUCing problem anymore – Yay free office lunch! But what if the office wasn’t paying for it? Well then we employees would simply not order on our own from MILES because: 1) it will be hard to organize enough people to get to $ 80, 2) the hidden markup is too expensive, 3) chasing everyone down to pay their share is a hassle. SOHOWMUCHDOESEXTRACONVENIENCEACTUALLYCOST? Try $ 144! The cost of food for 35 people if someone from my office just picked it up would have been $ 279.85, MILES charged us $ 423.63! Seriously, getting this kind of fee for the logistics and delivery required would make FEDEX jealous. So the moral of the story is, organizations with money to burn will be mostly smiles with meals delivered by MILES. Good luck MILES, you’ve still got a ways to go, but despite my criticisms, may you someday cook up the best food delivery service so that we all can eat happily.
