Great classes for kids with appropriate teaching style that encourages them to do their best. This is high quality Karate and a lot of the students that stick with it have done really well at the various Bay area tournaments which speaks for itself. It’s also very reasonably priced.

Excellent teacher, spacious facility, convenient location, affordably priced. My son has been enrolled twice a week for several months now and only likes it more as time goes by. The teacher trained in Japan and teaches traditional Karate movements, but there is no contact or sparring in class. His teaching style is strict and kind & gentle at the same time. He obviously cares a lot about the kids and their overall experience, not just«doing it right». The minimum age is 6 years old and the ages range up to early teens. There is about an equal split of girls to boys, and the girls more than hold their own. I would recommend this for any child looking to build self-discipline, confidence, strength, balance, and coordination — or just to burn off some physical energy(the class is 45 min long and fairly tiring). Kids can take the class once or twice a week at this location and the teacher also teaches at Cubberley and in Redwood City on other nights. New students can come watch the class anytime but start class at the beginning of each month. After enrollment, students are required to wear a karate uniform which the teacher sells at cost.
