Love the Doctor here. She’s detailed and creative. However, the help in the store can’t multi task and I had a recent purchase available for pickup that I waited 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me. Get your eye checkups here but purchase elsewhere!

Me, my brothers, and my wife we get all our prescription eye glasses from either this location or the one in Los Gatos. My wife just got some prescription eye glasses from Kaiser and she had a lot of problems with the eye glasses. They did fit her well, she start noticing rainbow around certain objects that she looks at thru kaisers prescription glasses. She is returning them and going with site for sore eyes because site for sore eyes have more experienced personnels that care about their clients and they have a private doctor that does eye exams. One time kaiser almost had me do laser eye surgery which would of most likely made me blind. I didn’t listen to their recommendation and instead i came to site for sore eyes to see what their input was on my eyes. After the exam the doctor said that my eye site was just a little different than before and i did not need any surgery and that the surgery would make it actually worst. After that i never put my foot in kaiser for my eye needs. I will update the review once we get the new eye glasses for my wife and will let you know if she is satisfied or not. I had to write a review after getting exceptional customer service today. I had gone here for an eye exam a couple of months ago and then ended up ordering my glasses online, not from Site for Sore Eyes(my insurance isn’t great and cheap frames was my priority). There is something to be said for having a real-life optician and experienced staff fit glasses. The glasses I ordered online had a wacky fishbowl effect going on that gave me a terrible headache. I sent them back, the lenses got switched out, but I was still having vision problems with the new lenses. I went in to Site for Sore Eyes today to confirm my prescription was correct. They gave me a new free follow-up eye exam to confirm the prescription was correct. They then compared the lenses from my old glasses and new glasses, determined that the type of lenses(polycarbonate) were causing distortions because of my astigmatism(they online company should have used plastic lenses), and that how the glasses were sitting on my face was problematic. They did all of this diagnostic stuff for free, which was really impressive. Then, the delightful red head bent the frame a bunch and adjusted the glasses arms so that they sit better on my face. I was shocked at what a difference this made! There really is something to be said for supporting a local business like this because of the customer service you get. (I gave four stars instead of five because during my original appointment back in January, the insurance quote I was given for my eye exam by the receptionist over the phone was off by about $ 30).

Palo Alto’s Site for Sore Eyes is a real treasure. They have a fantastic selection of frames to accommodate all budgets and really terrific optometrists, but the opticians go beyond the norm with their helpfulness and caring. I highly recommend Site for Sore Eyes!

I work in the area and one of the nose pads on my glasses went missing so I went it to see if they could replace it for me. The woman there was very nice, she replaced both nose pads in just minutes and didn’t charge me. To me that is great customer service that I will remember, refer and give my business to.

Really great store, wide selection of frames, and(most of all) great customer service! I walked in there and Ashraf greeted me and was very personable and welcoming. She saw that my current frames needed a fix. She took a look at them but found she didn’t have the specialized tools on hand at the time but she was so nice as to even give me the address of a place she knew where they could fix them! I recommend this place!

Amazing customer service. I called them in a panic because my last contact lens broke while I was visiting friends. Thankfully I had my prescription with me. Lynda told me to come by the office, and they were able to give me a sampler contact lens to replace the broken one. Great service, friendly and efficient. Would absolutely return and recommend. Their selection was nice. I wanted some eye and sun glasses since I haven’t used my HSA, but no one acknowledged me, after looking at all of their selections I decided to go to Lens Crafter’s. Maybe it’s the location.

Had good service here. Knowledgable and friendly staff. My glasses ended up being $ 365 for frames, lenses with coating, and a spare pair. They also adjusted them well and made sure the lenses were centered correctly. Definitely an improvement over Kaiser vision essentials.

I took my kids here, we all needed new frames. We had fantastic service. I didn’t have my sons RX but they were able to get it. The glasses were made quickly and accurately. The staff was really nice, helped when asked but also let us take our time. They had a good selection of stylish frames and sunglasses.

It’s a shame that I’ve been on Unilocal all year and my first review has to be a negative one. All in all, my visit to Site for sore Eyes was good — Until it got to the insurance portion. Pedro claimed he couldn’t locate me under my plan, which is bogus and rushed me to pay the full amount so he didn’t have to deal with it. He said as long as I got my ins info to him by the end of the day on 12/22/2014, i would receive a refund… So I paid, went back to work and had my HR department verify my coverage within 10 minutes. Then I called Pedro’s ass back around 2:30 pm and he verified that it was all good, my transaction would be voided and the money would be posted back on my account before the end of the day. I checked and checked and checked. The amount never posted. Called him today, 12/23/2014 at 10:30 am and he said, «Oh, it should’ve posted last night, said i’ll take care of it, it should’ve went back to your account already. Don’t call back, I’ll take care of it and call you back!» Then rushed me off the phone. I waited all day, checked my account — nothing. So I call back at 6:30 pm and by this time I could be rude and hostile but I am polite. I say, «Pedro, you said yesterday this would be taken care of and nothing, you said today it would post, still nothing. You also said you would call me back and I received nothing Pedro. Did you open a claim, Pedro» He said in a frustrating tone, «Guess you have to wait until Friday for me to take care of it.» Unbelievable. Shame cause I had him pick me out 2 pairs of Gucci Frames. Guess I’ll take my business else where… IF I CANGETMYMONEYBACK, THAT I SHOULD’VENEEEVERHADBEENFORCEDTOPAYBECAUSE I HAVE A MOTHERFUCKING + INSURANCE! Incompetence at its highest. Merry Christmas.

I have using this shop for 8 years but will not be returning. The store is overpriced but you get Lynda’s attitude for free. She’s not very friendly and not too helpful. I’ve purchased 6 pairs of glasses here and never even get a smile from her when I come in to shop. Her colleague Ash is nice and is helpful but most of the time Lynda is in the store so it’s an unpleasant experience. I bought new Nike frames from them and they damaged the frames when they installed my lenses. They would not give me a new frame and could not fix it. Many better options out there!

I had a half hour to get my current glasses repaired and select new frames. My nose pads were replaced on two minutes. Then I was shown five frames that all looked great on me. I am thrilled to have ordered my glasses and to have had such outstanding assistance. Other places you can spend a long time trying on unflattering frames before anyone walks over to help you. I’ll be back.

In forty years of wearing glasses, I received the worst service(two weeks late), the worst glasses(bad fit, wrong for my face) and the highest price that I’ve ever paid for a pair of frames. I buy high-end frames. I do not mind paying for quality. These are mall frames at Palo Alto prices. Run, do not walk, to the nearest exit. When I expressed my consummate displeasure with the experience, the agent said essentially there’s nothing they can do.

Here’s the bottom line: I stopped in on a whim, showed them my new prescription and a pair of gold wire frames that I had kept from my hippy days in the 1970s. The technician — they do all their own lense grinding and fitting on site — confirmed that the frames were of good quality and they could fit lenses to them. When I told them I needed them for a role I was playing in a day or two, they said they would call when through. The glasses were ready THATAFTERNOON and I’ve since had my opthamologist at PAMF check them out. They were EXACTLYCORRECT — which my doctor says is unusual. Since then my wife and I have been in for other frames and the women at the counter welcome us by name, and are exceptionally helpful in selecting new frames and exploring options like sun filters, prism lenses, etc.

I’ve been going to Site for Sore Eyes for years and have always had excellent customer service. Lynda remembers my name every time I walk in the store, and is always tracking down vision insurance information for me(my plan keeps changing with my husband’s company!). She has always helped me to get the best deals and even made good on a discount coupon I forgot to bring with me. I recently had an optometry appointment with Dr. Kiang at Site for Sore Eyes. I was very impressed with how thorough she was. Before the appointment, a courteous and efficient assistant tested and took pictures of my eyes with three different pieces of modern equipment. During the appointment, Dr. Kiang showed me the pictures on her tablet and gave me a thorough explanation of what I saw. She also told me all the options I had for eyeglasses(progressives versus distance AND reading glasses) and options for contact lenses. I found some beautiful designer frames there and am looking forward to getting my new glasses.

Horrible customer service. I bought a $ 500+ pair if glasses that were supposed to be ready in 4 – 5 business days. They kept telling me it was going to be another week, and after 2 months I asked for a refund. I was told they don’t give refunds and that I would have to wait. After 3 months I contacted the corporate office and received no reply. I finally started a claim with the Better Business Bureau whom told me to contact the store and corporate office again. After receiving no response from either, the BBB contacted the store and they finally agreed to give me a refund. The manager said she needed my cc number in order to process the refund. I reluctantly gave it to her and she CHARGED me another $ 500+. When I called to ask why I was charged instead of refunded she denied it and wouldn’t help. I did eventually get refunded for all $ 1100 but the managers were the most unhelpful out of any store I’ve ever been to.
