William Sastry, MD

Out of all the mental health professionals I have seen over the years, Dr. Sastry was _​by far_​the warmest and easiest to talk to.
As far as medication management, he had a very empowering and pragmatic attitude. I have met several psychiatrists who thought they knew after five minutes what was «wrong» with me, how to «fix» it, and it was either their way or no way. Not Dr. Sastry. He took his time to get to know me and hear my concerns, checked in with me if his perceptions of me matched my own perceptions, explained his recommendations to me, and gave me a real choice whether to accept or decline his suggestions. He never «pushed» medication on me and when something didn’t work, he was quick to suggest other alternatives. He was always supportive of the decisions I made, even if they did not always line up with his recommendations.
I stopped seeing him when I changed insurance providers and he was no longer in-​network, but he will always have a special place in my heart!
