Don’t be put off by the exterior of the building which was formerly a Bakers Square; the food served inside is nothing like a chain restaurant. Anemone is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is a reasonable option for a quick meal out or for a special occasion. The menu has a Greek/Italian influence, and meals are prepared to order with fresh, high quality ingredients: no pre-made microwave food here. The staff is attentive and one or both of the owners is always present. We’ve enjoyed basic options(bacon and eggs, burgers, spaghetti) as well as more unusual choices such as a fig omelette or Chicken Oreganato. The calamari is delicious. Dinner specials can be pricey, but they are typically worth the cost; branzino or squid ink pasta with crab, mussels, and shrimp, prawns, and crab legs. The owners care very much about customer satisfaction.

Definitely check this place out if you are in the area. The food and service are both great! The staff is super friendly and checks to see if you’re enjoying your meal or if you need something. I came here for lunch and got a cup of the soup which was cream of mushroom that day and then the chopped salad with grilled chicken. Both were delicious! The soup was my favorite! Best cream of mushroom soup I’ve had anywhere. The salad was also very tasty with really fresh ingredients.

Love this place. Pizza quick and delicious. I enjoy more of a New York style pizza and this is as close as it gets out in the burbs. Staff and ownership are wonderful. A nice date night place or group. Either way we really enjoy it. Thanks

5 star rating for overall experience. The night we went was a special event evening. The food & entertainment was over the top. Portions extremely large-food delicious. I can not comment on drinks since we aren’t drinkers-however the coffee was very fresh & robust. No room unfortunately for dessert, but the greek yogurt cheesecake looked exceptional. Only suggestion, the servers seemed a bit overwhelmed. Everyone was friendly-even the patrons. Keep in mind it was jam packed on a Wednesday evening. Honestly, this may go down as one of my «best of 2015». Ciao-Buon Anno

This was the worst service I have ever had. There were 2 tables and one of the busers was helping by cleaning up and the waitress told him to stop and yelled At him in front of us. I can’t believe she treated him so poorly. I am disgusted at her behavior and the food was not great. Horrible experience I will never go back. Place has potential, but the rude service and rudeness toward her own coworker makes me never want to go back.

Good food fresh and flavorful. The management acted almost mafia-esque and was overly attentive. …hope they have calmed down since then.

The owner trots around like a dancer on his day off, kissing and hugging everyone, hey buddy, order some god damn fresh basil! If a pizza has premium ingredients and a premium price, put the premium ingredients on it! Funny how they always ask for my input but never change a thing. Pizza margarita, in the perfect world fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and tomato, their crust is fine but as time goes by the quality of the ingredients sinks to abysmal. In the hey days of this establishment one shiny wet basil leaf would adorn the center of the pizza. Now, I have to ask for it and what I get is a bowl of black rotten wet basil leaves, served with no qualms. When I ask if they use fresh mozzarella, they answer of course! When I tell them this is not fresh mozzarella, they ignore me. While I wait for my pizza I hear the well trained staff explaining the specials, for some reason they never tell me the specials, I guess they assume I will not order anything over $ 14. The other pizza I had was olives, anchovy and capers, none of the promised oregano, no cheese, the olives had pits in them which is fine as a garnish or a side, not on a pizza the past we have tried special orders that have been looked on with disdain. This pizza was an insult to salt. A salt block would be considered bland. When leaving, do not look back, you may turn into a pillar of salt!

Breakfast was luke warm at best, would have been great if it was warm. Ordered the Chicken Parmesean qne it was just ok. The chicken was pounded out too thin and the sauce was somewhat bland. I did ask for extra sauce and they oblieged. The chicken was very saucy and had enough cheese on it to complement the pasta and sauce. We will give the place one more try because of all the good reviews. It maybe was just an off day but how hard is it to serve hot food.

This place is the real deal. The food is amazing. I ordered the chicken parm and a prosciutto and beet salad that was absolutely amazing. I’m in the area for work and I have a feeling that I’ll be eating here every day.

A good friend of mine spoke so highly of this great European restaurant that we just had to try it! My husband and I shared the Regina Margherita pizza and a cup of soup. That alone was so delicious that we were super excited for our entrees. And we were not disappointed! I got the Vodka Gnocchi but not just any vodka gnocchi, the chef/owner was inspired this morning that he served it in a homemade cheese bowl. My husband had the Chicken Kalamaki. You can tell presentation means a lot to the chef and it’s great that it tastes as good as it looks. We were extremely satisfied with everything. AND the service was excellent thanks to our awesome waitress, Jean, that sings Christmas Carols as she serves you. We had such a great time. Now enjoying my delicious Intelligentsia coffee. Thank you Ane Mone!

AneMone took the empty husk of a Baker’s Square and dunked it in Italian countryside charm and dark brown paint. Stepping in, the décor looks like a rustic country home, and the restaurant is bathed in delicious woodsmoke scent from their pizza ovens. An open floor of 2 – 6 tops plan with booths along the sides and plenty of windows really erases the Baker’s Square feel from the building. The food is excellent, with real care taken in the ingredients and presentation. The pasta tastes fresh, the pizza is baked to order Italian-style and the desserts are really beautiful and flavorful. Their specials are always worth trying, because going off-menu lets the chefs get creative and really sparkle gastronomically. Their once-in-a-blue-moon caprese salad with buffalo milk mozzarella was pretty amazing. I recommend trying them at lunch time when AneMone is quieter, with ambient daylight filtering in and the soft patter of the open air kitchen drifting around you. It’s just charming. Palos Heights lucked out getting this place.

Sunday morning breakfast with my grandson and was looking for a delicious and fast meal. The beautiful name was so inviting and I had hopes because I so wanted to fall in love with this restaurant. I wanted to check in and brag about the amazing experience but I couldn’t because for me it just wasn’t there. The staff was very nice and the coffee spectacular but the food took so long to get to the table. My omelette, while filled with fresh veggies, just wasn’t a satisfying taste. Had to pay extra for pancakes when I gave up the toast, had to pay extra for meat for a kids meal and truthfully the pancakes while good were drenched in so much powder sugar that quickly transferred to faces and clothes. I intend to give it a second chance because the people were so nice and there is a genuine welcoming feeling and so I hope…

Napolitan Pizza is defiantly one of my favorite Pizza, I am lucky to have found AneMoNe. I normally order salad followed by a Pizza desert and a cup of Cappuccino or espresso. Today, we ordered village Greek Salad, as usual it was crispy tasty and very healthy fresh ingredients. The Milano pizza was over the top its blended with mozzarella cheese, Arugula Cherrie tomato, prosciutto parmigiano, lemon olive oil and well done crust! I can tell you there is no pizza like this one in this area. Dessert menu is outstanding today We had the special along with cappuccino to die for.

First, let me say that the owner of the restaurant is very invested in the success of Anemone. He is as always there, as far as I’ve seen, and even takes it upon himself to greet, seat, and wait on the tables! He is very personable and friendly. Now, on to what you really want to hear… The food is of magnificent quality with the satisfaction of feeling homemade. For example: the pizza is made in a brick oven, thin crust, the cheeses are imported from Italy, and the sauce is homemade. I never eat pizza crust(unless it’s home run inn or stuffed with cheese), but I surely did today! I would recommend one of their more popular pizzas, the Margherita! They’re also pretty good for breakfast, offering one of my favorites to try at every restaurant — stuffed french toast! The staff are friendly, but today it seemed like every one of the waiters was in training — the level of service was slightly inconsistent. This would be the only reason I wouldn’t rate it 5 stars. But, overall a good experience. On my next trip, I’ll be trying the homemade gelato!
