If there was anything that could make horrible back pain worse it was visiting this place and the demeaning treatment and disrespect I got for my gender identity as a male to female transgender woman. This kind of place is why I wish I lived closer to Howard Brown Health Center. That I have to use my legal name on some forms is understandable. What is indefensible is the staff members continued and repeated dead naming and misgendering of me after I repeatedly asked them to stop. The nurse after I corrected her and told her I went by female pronouns and the name I go by, immediately responded by saying, «Okay Mr. Jones.» And then proceeded to call me by my dead name in asking a question. When I corrected her again she said it was what my name is on the chart. To heck with the chart, if the patient says that is what her name and pronouns are, call her that. The doc I saw was nicer. She addressed me by my deadname and«sir» until I corrected her. I wanted to get out of there fast and left some paper work and the nurse, yet again said«Wait, *deadname*, you left your paper work» I corrected her, picked up and started leaving, and then she once again said, «hey, *deadname* you dropped this.» The staff is in urgent need of diversity training and cultural literacy regarding gender variant people. At least the wait was short and they didn’t ask me dumb questions about my genitals and why I wanted to transition after I came in for a wasp sting on my hand like a certain other urgent care center did.

This is the worse place ever! The staff is very rude and un caring. My daughter took my grand daughter there who had a fever for a few days when it spiked to 104 and she couldnt get it to come down, she took her in. They told her, dont be bringing her here for every little fever. WHATTHEHELL!!! They did a few tests and sent her home and said she’ll be fine. 2 days later, she still had a fever so my daughter took her to her regular DR and turns out she had a upper respiratory infection. How do you just send a 3 yr old child home so sick and say«she’ll be fine» ??? How is this place still open and why hasnt anyone sued for misdiagnosis???

We had a great experience here… well as good of an experience as you can have when you need to go to an immediate care center! My husband hurt his foot and we went there on a Friday night. Maybe it was a slow night, but we only had to wait about 3 minutes after check-in, and 2 – 3 min waits for everything else(including consultation with doctor, x-ray, getting a temporary cast, etc). The nurse and doctor were very nice and professional. Turns out he broke a bone, so we were glad we went in instead of waiting all weekend!

This place is pretty sub-par as far as hospitals go. Whenever I go to Palos Community Hospital or an off-shoot, I am continually disappointed by the demeanor of the staff. There was one nurse in particular that would have you thinking she used to be one of the nastiest school nurses around, or that she was too nasty of a person to be allowed to work at a school as a nurse. Pretty sad, right? I spent nearly two hours in an empty waiting room. They would not let me in with my sister while she waited for the doctor, despite her adamant requests that I come in. The nurse talked down to me, and when I’d pass the«nurse’s station», I’d see the jerk reading a goddamn magazine or gossiping with the receptionist. Overall disappointing. If you need quality medical care, go to Christ Hospital or one of it’s off-shoots.

This place is the worst!!! Either go to the emergency room or wait until your doctor’s office opens. The only thing they do here, if anything, is write a script for antibiotic. No matter what is wrong. It is the same outcome. And the pace is HORRIBLE!!! You will wait forever, and if it is later in the evening, the staff will be pissy that you are interrupting their magazine time.

I’d hate to do a bad review but I have too! I do not understand how this place stays open. These are the slowest moving people on the planet! I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours. I understand that when you need to be seen by a doctor you must wait, but 2 hours? I went right after work, with my son. So we did not eat dinner. By 7pm I finally got into a room. The Dr. checked me out for all of 5 min. and did a Strep Test. I waited another 20 min in the room, which I may add my son said he was hungry about 100 times in those 20 min! So I finally got mad and found a nurse and told her I could not wait any longer. Do I have Strep or not? She said I did not and she needed me to sign something before I left. I waited 10 more min for her to get this form and I got mad and left with out signing it! I will never go back to this place. Unless you have an entire day to spend in the waiting room I suggest you go else wear for your medical needs!
