Not sure how I missed this hidden gem. After a nearby search on the CBTV app, I made my way in for my first visit. I love to support a great little family business, they’re just 5 months away from their 40th anniversary. I went with the #4 as featured on Chicago’s Best TV. I wish there was a bit more meat, but it’s a great value and the 7″ certainly filled me up. I spilled my guts and really enjoyed the overflow of pickles, tomatoes, onions and top secret herbs and spices. Looking forward to seeing what kind of anniversary celebration is in store… perhaps a flash back to 1976 pricing? Or maybe they’ll honor an old price from a past menu you held onto? Friendly, prompt and an extremely clean operation. Great catering options too.

Fantastic subs especially at an extremely low price! A nice quick meal! You can make your own sub which is cool as well!

No, not so great. Our first time here. Not much that I did like about the place. The owner/manager was very helpful and friendly. What I didn’t like: The font on the sign is difficult to read The windows were filthy The«guts» were simply a giardinara wanna be. The potato salad was Costco or Sam’s The Gonella bread was good I did like the music Most disgusting was the mold growing on the ceiling tile in the unisex restroom Only Two slices of meat on the sandwich.

Love this place! Been going here for years. Even at their old location. If you want unique, flavorful sandwiches on the go, this is the place! I’ve had soups here and my son said even likes the hot dogs!

I saw a post on my town’s Facebook page asking where the best local sandwich shop is at. When I read the first five responses and saw that they were all the same, I knew I had to go on a quest to find Peppo’s. Very delicious sandwich. You gotta get«the guts». That’s what it’s all about.

I was really disappointed. The sub I ordered was small for the price and had less meat than a subway sub. I expected way better from a neighborhood business. I normally call and go on– line to post good reviews. But this really left me pissed. Spent way more than I wanted and didn’t get nearly as much as I expected. I would not go back and warn customers not to be sucked in. Unfortunately, I was. But as I do with all rip offs, will not go back…

It is so worth the $ 2 extra dollars you would pay at Subway. So Good!

Everything about this place is perfect. I hate raw onions but when I eat them in guts I somehow can’t stop eating them. A #4 is my absolute favorite and we always order an extra tub of guts. I seriously recommend this place!

This review is only on their Italian beef sandwiches. I decided to grab a beef as I was driving by here and had heard great things about their sub sandwiches with guts. I ordered two with cheese and no peppers. The beef was underwhelming from a flavor standpoint and it is not anything I would return for. I will try them again for other menu items though.

I’ve grown up eating Peppo’s! I take my kids there now and they love it too! If you haven’t had, their guts you need too! I love this place! Best sandwich place, EVER! Not enough good things to say about this place! Go and see for yourself!!!

Been eating Peppos for 30 years. Guts guts guts and and wait for it jalapeño guts! Now the #4 is by far my favorite. But you also have to try a chilidog with jalepeno guts. Ooooh yummy. A place that has stayed true to its form since I was a little crumb snatcher. If you have not had a Peppos sub you have missed one of the great sandwich wonders of the world.

Quality meats on the peppo-roni Italian sanwich, and the«guts» are tasty! The staff is friendly, the kitchen is clean, and the sanwiches are delicious. Next time I’m back in the south suburbs I’ll definitely stop in for a sub.

It;s okay, not bad but not great, the sandwich buns are chewy. Nothing reinvented here. I tried the supposed antipasto salad, I expected cubes of meat instead I got head lettuce with sliced up cold cuts in it!

Someone recommended this place for me, so I decided to come here for lunch. I had it picked up. I ordered an American cheese, pastrami, and salami sandwich with nothing else. I picked it up then. Service was friendly. When I opened, I had a smell of something that wasn’t supposed to be in there. There was lettuce and mustard that I didn’t order. Also, I tried mustard before, and I didn’t like it. I tried to brush them off, but the mustard didn’t come off good. Well, it was our first time anyways. The sandwich was cold and the bread was a little wet. I took a bite, and I tasted mostly the mustard. The mustard was not good. The rest was okay. I felt disgusted. It was our first time, and it wasn’t good. The sandwich wasn’t good, and I had my order with stuff I didn’t order. I will just have to make sandwiches at home then.

Oh Peppo’s, you can’t call yourself a Chicago South Sider if you haven’t had a Peppo with GUTS! The«guts» are actually tomatoes, onions, and pickles with dry herb seasonings. Their sandwiches are made fresh to order and the can customize your guts to your liking.(No onions? No problem! For those of you that are used to the standing counter, you will be pleased to hear that Peppo’s now has a whole dining room for you to enjoy your sandwich in house. Don’t worry, the old wall décor is still there too. Peppo’s does cater and would be a nice change from the typical Italian beef and/or pizza that you’ve been serving your sports lovers. They make sandwiches up to 6 feet long and they can customize it as you like it.

Great food here! They put their«guys» on just about everything and there is nothing like it. It’s so good you can eat it just as a dip. Sandwiches are wonderful, great bread, fresh ingredients and of course guts! Definitely fair prices for how much food you get. They do great catering here to! I’ve dad numerous parties catered by them and each one, I’ve heard complements on the food.

Decent subs, probably a bit overrated. People go all ga-ga over the ‘guts’, which are a dice of onion, tomato, and pickle. The last few times we got subs to go, the bread didn’t seem that fresh, which was a huge disappointment. There aren’t that many good sub places in the SW burbs, so we hit this place up a few times a year. I’m always left with a ‘meh’ feeling about their food. However, I know many many people love their subs.

Probably one of the better sub places in the area, since Subway/Jimmy Johns gets kind of old sometimes. Not to mention, this is a local place that has been around for a while, and I find myself in here once in a while for lunch since I am in the area. All the subs I have had from here are pretty good. Definitely get a variety of the«guts» on your sandwich, I recommend garlic or original. While a bit more expensive than some of its chain counterparts, Peppo’s definitely has a local feel to it, and I am never disappointed with anything I get. It would have 5 stars if it were a little less expensive and didn’t lie to our faces when my mother asked for a sub toasted, and they assured us it was toasted(after we wanted to make sure a second time), and then found it wasn’t toasted at all when we got home.
