WOW!

Wow has an overall one start. That is a generous rating. Firstly, I inquired about subscribing last summer and BAM they ran a hard check on my credit! I am still angry about that. I see in reading these reviews; I am not the only one. So BEWARE! Nevertheless, I moved forward with the Internet service last summer after the hard credit check. Trust me if you enjoy outages every other week this is the way to go! It’s a toss up if you have internet when you awake especially toward the end of the month. Now, this week, reluctantly, I wanted to add the Cable TV-​not because I was satisfied with their service, I just didn’t want the hassle of changing services. They quoted the $ 64 dollars which is advertised on line. In the process, we were disconnected. I recalled and was not allowed to speak with the same person. I was told it would have to be restarted from the beginning. So away we go… When we got to the price now it was quoted as $ 84. I asked to speak with a supervisor. Upon explaining she said $ 84 was the now quoted price although 10 minutes earlier it was quoted $ 64. She added I was welcome to go to another company if the $ 84 was not suitable. Hey, do yourself a favor there are plenty of other good companies around here I am told by other people here. Personally, I would pay $ 184 not to deal with this company. Many people are moving in around the beach area. I will be the first in line to tell them my experiences with WOW!

Been loyal with them since before they were Wow! Came home tonight to find no television. Up until now I had been receiving basic cable and internet.
I checked my monthly bill and see that I am paying $ 55 for «home internet» service. I look at their website and it states $ 55 for internet and basic cable.
I call. I am informed that I am only paying for internet service, nothing more. Really? I had been receiving television up until now. That was probably a mistake that has been corrected, and I will only be receiving Basic internet from now on.
I inquire as to why the website says basic cable and internet are $ 55, but I am paying $ 55 and only getting basic internet? I am informed at this point that the $ 55 on the website is a special deal only offered to new customers. The sales rep then tells me that I should be able to get a better deal if I bundle my internet with cable and possibly phone. I remind her that is what I originally did. She goes on to say that for basic cable and internet it would be $ 65 plus tax (which she goes on to list approximately $ 15 worth of taxes and fees) for a total of around $ 80 a month for one year… Um sweetie, this isn’t a better deal…
She goes on to say that I should have been offered a special deal when I originally signed up as well and that deal expired after 1 year and the price increases after that. I am told that I can look forward to it continuing to rise from this point.
This was NOT the way Knology did business. Knology ran their company with transparent fees/​prices and no special terms and no contracts. What ever happened to treating loyal customers better? $ 55 for just internet when I can jump ship and go to another company and only pay $ 20? That is ridiculous! Are you trying to chase your customers away?

After reading the reviews of others I am coming to the conclusion that is likely the least-​worst alternative. Fired Comcast long ago and switched to Knology. Knology was great in comparison!
Since being acquired by WOW — I have to say quality and service went downhill like skiing a black diamond slope (for southerns that have never been skiing how about being dropped from an airplane w/​o chute!) Cable speeds been dropping to near 0 for inexplainable reasons. Spent hours on phone with tech 2 days ago. His tests said the modem was fine. I am hooked directly to the modem and it said 0! Then inexplicably it all came back.
Yesterday same.
Tech arrived today and found outdated filer on the line outside my building — said they have not been needed for a long time and should not have been there.
New program — $ 50 for each service call for any reason — EVEN IF IT IS THEIR EQUIPMENT AT FAULT! Or monthly $ 10/​month. We are up and running — but I have started looking for alternatives — and that outlook is dismal. ;-(

I agree. Don’t know how WOW can stay in business. Terrible customer support and try getting someone out to your home to fix their cable and internet. THEIR wire outside came down from a storm. They never came out to fix after several work tickets. Their CEOS don’t monitor the hen houses it seems. They should all be fired and don’t deserve their pay. They obviously charge us way too much. Their billing office are always messing up too. Their employees are rude and don’t act like they want to help you. Some you can’t even understand.

If I could give this company a 0 star rating, I would. They are worse then the dog turd on the bottom of a shoe! Where should I start … Over and over, we received incorrect billing, month after month. Poor cable service … Channels freeze, Internet runs slow much of the time. And then there is customer service … You’ll spend a good portion of your life waiting to be connected to a helpless customer service representative who can’t do anything for you. Five years of lackluster service is OVER!
