The wife took me here the other day and I was hesitant at first because the aesthetics of the location present itself as a cafeteria location but he food begs to differ. This was the first time I had Filipino food and I am amazed at how savory and hearty the meal was. I tried everything there and it was an amazing and salivating feast. Never judge a book by its cover.

The place is spacious, foods are ok and cheap, and the service is above par, It has becoming a habit of having breakfast there plus the welcoming attitudes of the staff and the Manager.

Had the pork adobo, pancet with white rice and a soda. The combo came with a cabbage soup. Everything was good. I definitely like the pork adobo the best. It had a great flavor and it was tender. The pancet was good too but I liked the pork best. My meal was 7 dollars and with the soda it was 10 dollars; not sure why the soda was so expensive. Anyway the food was definitely a-ok

Awesome food, lots of selection. You get your money’s worth. Highly recommended. Place is clean. Staffs are friendly and hospitable. Most importantly they got the best pancit palabok to my taste… Love this place, don’t ever change love their halo halo as well.

This place isn’t the way it used to be. Im still a huge fan of their pork adobo, honestly i think there’s crack sprinkled on that mofo because its so addicting. Their lechon is unique but you have to get when its fresh off the kitchen. The one on Amar(West Covina) is much better for some reason.

Best filipino fast food restaurant I’ve had. I prefer it over Pinoy Pinay. This place is very nostalgic to me for reason being that before this place turned into a restaurant, it was a tiny grocery store where the owner would always give me a little treat, whether it be polvoron or pastillas. When it was fairly new, the owner of the store’s family used to serve the food(cafeteria style) and they remembered my parents, but throughout the years, new faces have replaced them. As far as service goes, sometimes they’re nice, other times they have a stick up their butt. I guess you just have to be there on their good days. When it comes to food, I LOVE their beef steak and binagoongan. I enjoy their pork adobo too, but sometimes it’s way too fatty/oily for me. I also enjoy their caldereta, laing, and their pancit palabok’s good for most of the time.

Good selection of Filipino food. Wasn’t the best, but a-okay. Still trying to figure out different Filipino places to eat at, but will definitely keep DJ’s in my list to eat at.

Another great spot in the city of Panorama! I always enjoy coming to this spot for some great pinoy delights! You can not go wrong. If you like soup you can have some Nilagang Baka, Sinigang Baka, or Tinolang Manok. For pork there are great items such as Apritada, Bopis, all the way to Sinigang Na Baboy. My favs are bitter melon, crispy pata, and of course adobo, that goes great with their coconut juice. The food taste delish and you will definitely enjoy each one. Service is great, and they will take good care of you. Parking is a non issue as there is plenty of space. There are many options for grub but this place is a must try. As the saying goes Ubos-ubos biyaya, pagkatapos nakatunganga(which means spend lavishly and you end up with nothing) here you will pay a great price and end up with a full stomach.

No A/C, i think not. DJ’s has been a staple among the Filipino fast food chains in SoCal, It’s no surprise there would be a branch here with all the other Filipino joints. BUT, Therein lies the problem. With so much competition within a stones throw, You really have to step your game up to get any of my business. So let’s see how DJ’s stacked up: –Same quality and quantity of food as everybody else — CHECK –Easy parking and seating — CHECK –Airconditioning — WOMP. WOMP…WOOOMP. We’re in the San Fernando Valley for Pedro’s sake, How am i gonna enjoy my lumpia and sinigang in 100 degree weather?

I used to frequent this place before for cheap and tasty Filipino food. I stopped going though because of its staff who can barely give a smile to the customers. I now go to other Filipino restaurants where I find friendly and accommodating staff.

Filipino restaraunt of choice when in the valley. Usually never disappointed by selection, and result. I always stop in whenever in the area. Unlikely to make special trip from Hermosa Beach just to get food from here, but good enough to look for when close by.

Went to DJ’s on monday for the first time in over a year. And they are still some of the best Filipino food i’ve ever had. The fried rice, lechon, chicken, tocino… etc. Everything was soooo good. Rankings 1 – 10 with 10 being the best Location — 3 — It’s kind of hidden away in a plaza, you can’t see it from the street Ambiance — 4 — It’s nothing much to look at inside Service — 5 — Cafeteria style Selection — 6 — There’s a good variety Food — 6 — Tastes good, the best fried rice ever Overall — 6 — A nice little stop for Filipino food

$ 3.99 Filipino breakfast with an entrée, 2 eggs, fried rice, and unlimited coffee refills really makes me happy. Come early & enjoy the kasarapan(deliciousness) that is DJ’s Filipino breakfast.

I used to rent a room in house, and the family-I-lived-with’s kitchen was off limits. So after trying a few places around town, I settled on DJ’s for being the most bang for my buck. To switch it up I ate at Yoshinoya Beef Bowl(can you tell what kind of budget i was on? lol) because DJ’s food was really oily so I’d feel so greased up after eating here. I will say though, eventually they eased up on it, not as much oil anymore… You can get a combo for about $ 5, and the sinigang goes great with your leftover rice. I like this place because parking is WAY easier than Kalesa Grill and I feel like it’s quieter. I don’t live in the area anymore(the«no kitchen» situation was breaking the bank), but when I’m around I definitely hit this place up for my «home cooking» fix.

If you’ve been exposed to Filipino food before, you know what to expect. If you haven’t, well… this is what you get and what I try to explain to most of my friends: there will usually be a lot of oil, and colors in food you’re not used to. With that said, and even thought its called DJ Bibingkahan«Restaurant» I still think of it as fast food cuisine(a waiter/waitress doesn’t bring it out to your table). And with that in mind, I love this place. I’ve had sinigang and beefsteak in other places, but this place usually gets, what I think the taste should be, just right. When you drink the soup and the last bit is a little bit more sour is always the best for me. Anyways — price wise its going to be about $ 5 per double combination, and I always recommend sinigang, beefsteak, fried fish, kare-kare(with bagaoong) and the chocolate meat(you know). For the not so adventurous theres always lumpia. If you’re going for dessert, they have the halo halo and the fried banana, which is pretty good. If you want a serious halo halo, might want to go to Goldilocks in the market if its still open — its maybe a buck more expensive but a lot more goodies. EAT here. Try it out. O ya — there’s lots of parking. don’t worry about it.

since i’m not Filipino, i have to go with the wife’s assessment of the place. WAS going to go to Goldilocks, but at the last minute, she wanted to try DJs. i wasn’t feeling all that well, so i just ordered a Mango Boba drink. Turns out, they were OUT of the tapioca boba balls. No biggie. They said they could make me a shake instead. A few moments later, i noticed the guy walking around with a pack of POWDERED mango stuff — to make my shake with. This is Southern California… where it’s perpetually sunny and 70+ degrees. A Filipino joint CAN’T find mangos to keep in stock for a shake? wtf !?! Anyway, the wife and son had some rice and stuff. This one particular dish looks like it’s been marinated in that pink Pepto Bismol stuff. Sorry, i just can’t hang with this. Give me some decent adobo or some fried Talapia and i’m happy. The wife says«Meh. I’ve had better.», so i guess it’s hard to misinterpret this one. They left about half the meal uneaten.

I’ve been a customer for the DJ Bibingkahan in West Covina. They provided a variety of different filipino food items fast food style. However, I am disappointed at the prepared food at this restaurant. You can definetely taste the clamari was overcooked. Also, the lechon kwali was overcooked and dry. The adobo pork and adobo chicken were too salty. I do notice the lack of customers at this restaurant. I do questioned whether the cooks possibly changed based on Angela’s review. Visited this site twice hoping the second visit would be a different story. Unfortunately, my opinion is unchanged. If you are in the area, I suggest going to Toto’s Lechon Manok. Enough said.
