What can I say? I don’t usually write reviews that aren’t positive, it takes a significantly bad experience for me to do so… But this was one of the worst lunches I’ve taken my daughter to in ages. If you have a sweet little beauty– find somewhere else to go for a special day out. Children are forgotten and passed over in this tea room. Their only offerings for kids are a peanut butter or grilled cheese, boring kid food that most children eat at home daily.(To their credit– both at least come with fruit.) However, it is not the kind of thing we imagined a tea room serving to little girls who may want to come with mom or grandma for special meals or Christmas shopping and lunch. We asked to substitute the peanut butter or grilled cheese for a small salad, but the server said no. So we ended up paying $ 10 for my daughter to have a small salad– which she ultimately would not eat(their ranch tasted like chemicals– definitely not house made) and some fruit. Obviously she was not thrilled with the options. We ended up trying to wave our waitress down 8 times for drink refills and to order dessert– but could not get her attention for over 20 minutes(not exaggerating). She was new, running around, and seemed nervous– which to me is a management issue(giving too many tables to someone before they are ready). She also spilled dressing on my daughter(it was just an accident– so I wasn’t upset at all, but it did add the the overall level of frustration of the $ 40 meal by that point.) All this being said, I personally have come here with clients for many years and have enjoyed the sampler, we also love their tea and the pumpkin bread. But as a mother who frequents many tea rooms with my daughter when we travel…(Others offerings have ranged from mini versions of high noon tea sandwiches, to mini kid friendly flavored quiches)… I made a promise to my daughter that we would never bring her back to the Rose Garden for a meal. Only afternoon tea and possibly dessert. Again, I apologize for the negative tone of this review, but I feel it’s only fair considering how sincerely I felt they owed an apology to my daughter for such a negative experience. She literally begged me not to have to come back– and that is a first of a visit to a tearoom, ever.

I really love the atmosphere! It’s you’re typical cute tea room locked up in a building full of christmas! My sister in law was skeptical on taking me here, but I was down to try it. I ordered the«rose tea» since its named for it… and well, it’s not MY cup of tea, but it’s worth a try! I had the Chicken croissant salad… ANDLETMETELLYOU… AHHMAAAHHHZING. I personally thought it was one of the TOP chicken salad sandwhich I ever tasted. I’ve been crazing it ever since! I ended off with the chocolate cake, and it was really MOIST.(hate that word, but its just perfect for the cake) Will I be back? Most def! The food was amazing, the fruits were sweet, and the service is impeccable!

Will return! Rose iced-tea & variety plate were great! Awesome chicken salad– yummy quiche– and pumpkin bread was amazing!!! I subbed pasta salad for chicken noodle soup– it was good. Poppyseed dressing is great with the fruit. I got the chocolate cake– I wouldn’t order it again, but it was well made.

It is too expensive for the quality of the food. the quality and taste is very bland and below average. I had the rose garden variety plate and my husband had the chicken crepes. the service was decent atleast. nothing outstanding to go back for.

I wanted to do something different for my best friend’s birthday so I decided on high tea at the rose garden tea room. As I walked in I was so impressed by the ambiance and the rustic feel of the tea room. We were seated right away and the sweet server got our drinks right away. I had requested no pork and they were very accommodating! First course with petite sandwiches, quiche and etc came right away. I enjoyed it. Then the second course of scones were lovely. Fresh whipping cream, jam and fresh scones. I polished it off. The third course of desserts was lovely as well. I loved the rose dessert but rest of the desserts I felt were pre made. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience, my only gripe is some of the food seemed from the frozen section. Wish it was all fresh. But other than that everything was lovely and we definitely had a great time.

I absolutely love this place. Came here with my mom for Mother’s Day. They had great service and great food. There was a small wait, but it’s worth the wait for such delicious food. We both had the variety plate: quiche, spicy tortilla soup, pumpkin bread, chicken salad, and fruit salad w/strawberry poppyseed dip. We shared the chocolate rose petal cake(to die for!) and hot rose tea. I will defiantly be going back again!

My coworker and I stopped by here on a work trip for lunch. It’s located at the back of a giant Christmas warehouse. We were concerned that we were underdressed since we’d been surveying in the hot sun of September all day, but the staff was very prompt and kind. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. A typical tea house, the main offerings are salads and sandwiches. I had a half salad/half sandwich and it was quite delicious. I definitely recommend this and would go back if ever in the area.

If you like premade food with ambiance this is for you… not for me. Don’t get me wrong… I ate it all, every last bite but I hadn’t had breakfast. I’m no spring chicken but I think I was the youngest person there. It’s a beautiful little place inside the Decorator’s Warehouse which has the best Christmas stuff anywhere. The sample platter has quiche, soup, chicken salad, fruit salad and pumpkin bread. Oh yeah, can’t forget the poppy seed fruit dip. So yummy, dip that fruit in the tiny, and I mean tiny little container and it’s super delish. Takes the healthy right out of the fruit! I may go again… when my mom and her friends ask me to join them.

Entering this place is like landing all Being-John-Malkovich like on the interior of a sweet, elderly woman’s skull. The waitress was delightfully up-front about the fact that the crepes are pre-made. In fact, everything seems premade here except the sandwiches, which contain things that only your sweet old aunt would think to put inside them, like pine nuts, and grape halves, and way too much Miracle Whip. The kitchen is staffed by literally your great aunt and is a kitchen insofar as a room with a toaster and a can opener can be called a kitchen. The Key Lime Pettifor tasted like frozen crayons. They have something called a Four Course Tea Sampler that you have to order 24-hours in advance, which seems like an amazing way to waste time. I took my boyfriend despite his reservations about eating in a building marked«Chistmas Decorations Outlet.» They sat us next to a small indoor Home Depot fountain, which I guess seemed appropriate. Birds chirped at our arrival, and as we dined on Campbell’s soup, and when I used the bathroom. I wonder if there is a Pandora station of birds or if they have a cassette tape that they have to rewind at some point. I gave this place 5 stars for the sheer ambiance.

I really like this place! I always get the sampler with the pumpkin bread and tortilla soup, yum! The portions are small but that’s pretty much expected from a tea room. I wish it had its own building because the commotion from the Christmas store really affects the atmosphere of the room.

I came in almost 5 minutes after 3PM on Saturday. They close at 3:30PM. I waited at the very front to be seated, but no one came to help me. I finally got someone’s attention, and asked if they were still seating/serving. The girl said«yes» and seated me. The atmosphere is very«old» and musty to me. My server was decent. I mean, It was after 3PM so I can understand if he was dreading the idea of serving me. I’m in the restaurant business too, so I get it. I ate as fast as I could, and definitely left a very generous tip. The old couple behind me wasn’t happy with their service– the old lady complained that she never got a refill on her tea. Well, I just want to ask if she really needed a refill and if she even told her server. I bet they didn’t leave a very nice tip, so I’m sure my tip was very generous for both tables. The old couple left just about the same time I did– no later than 3:45PM(keep in mind, they close at 3:30PM). House special ice tea– It was fine. I thought it would be sweet, but it wasn’t. I didn’t opt to add sugar either. Southwestern chicken crêpe– They served it like an enchilada in a ramkin smothered with cheese on top. The cheese was flavorless to me. However, I did really enjoyed the chicken and the egg crêpe very much. Just the cheese was blah. I would probably order this again. Side of pasta salad instead of house salad. Just tri-colored spiral pasta with italian dressing. dessert to go: special of the day– chocolate pie. It tasted homemade. I didn’t like the crust. The chocolate was very chocolatey– so if you’re a chocolate lover this would be it for you. The whipped meringue topping is different. I kind of regret ordering it. Next time I’ll get the bread pudding. After reading other people’s reviews, I just realized I wasn’t served any«toasties.» I’ll definitely come back earlier and give this place another try!

I have been here twice before with Emma. I was probably the only guy here, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. They have very good light fare, so if you ever want a good salad, sandwich, or small foods, then this is the place you would want to go. The second time I went, we had high tea, which was very nice. Lots of small foods just to get a taste of several different things. You have to order at least 24 hours in advance, so if you want to try it out, call them before hand.

We get this for carry out probably once a week. My co-workers love the club sandwich. I go for the Rose Garden Variety or the quiche & salad combo. The variety plate has a sampling of quiche, chicken salad, soup, fruit and poppy seed dip and a slice of pumpkin bread sandwich. If I eat in, I order a glass of their delicious rose garden iced tea. If you dine in, you also get a bowl of toasties. This is a great place for a mother/daughter lunch. As another reviewer said, the pies are INCREDIBLE! If they are serving chocolate or coconut cream you MUST get a slice to share!

I just posted a review concerning the Historic Camp Bowie Merchantile Antique Mall in west Fort Worth, in which I concentrated on the Rose Garden Tea Room(giving it five stars). Looking up the tea room on google I saw that there are two locations: the one in Arlington, and the newer one in Fort Worth at said antique mall. I have never been to the Arlington location. I will simply add my kudos to the Rose Garden Tea Room. Here is a portion of my other review: My wife and I love to get the Rose Garden Variety plate($ 10.95) which is a sampler plate of chicken salad, fruit, quiche(of the day), soup(again of the day) and pumpkin bread sandwich(I think turkey), served with poppy seed dressing(the foregoing list is not from memory: I looked it up on the website). The chicken salad(whether on the platter, or a salad, or as a sandwich) is always excellent. I have also enjoyed the turkey sandwich. I usually dislike fresh fruit dipped in dressing. However, their Poppy Seed dressing is fantastic. Each time I quickly demolish my fruit(all very fresh; the strawberries I had the other week seemed to be fresh-picked) by dipping it in the dressing. They make the poppy seed dressing on premises and will sell you a bottle for $ 7.00. On our last visit I ordered two bottles: the waiter said they just ran out, but in ten minutes they would have a fresh batch made up. Sure enough, ten minutes later he came back with two bottles with the freshest poppy seed dressing imaginable. I often will drop in just to order a bottle or two for home. The service is excellent. Indeed, the waiter we usually have joined the restaurant soon after it opened and he is always on the ball. I have not had a bad experience at this tea room. Again, the foregoing concerns the Rose Garden Tea Room on the west side of Fort Worth(on the traffic circle), located inside the«Historic Camp Bowie Mercantile Antique Mall». Both tea rooms are owned by the same person(Helen Bowers).

This tea room has been a long time favorite of me and my best friends! It really is a little treasure, such a treat! It is quaint, with ambient lighting throughout, and perfect for a girlfriend lunch! They have the BEST rose petal tea, which is so addicting, and delicious! The bread they serve first is more like a savory, crunchy, flavorful treat, and everything on the menu is so delicious! I always get the garden sampler, everything is homemade, and tastes like heaven. Fresh desserts are always on the menu, pies made from scratch! The food is super fresh, chicken salads, pumpkin bread, fruit and dip, all good! The only problem, is that I can’t get over there often enough!

This is a fantastic hidden treasure of Arlington! It is in the Decorator’s Warehouse building(formerly Antiques and Moore) and you should make reservations before you go. I always get the garden sampler — yummy soup, quiche of the day, fruit salad and a pumpkin bread snack. It fills me up every time! Their signature chocolate cake is TODIEFOR, but please share, it is too huge for one(or even 2 people). Their specialty tea is a rose tea that sounds weird but is very, very good. I have taken a group of 15 high school students there and they were very accommodating, we had plenty of room and the service was superb. My reason for giving them a 4 instead of a five is the whole«it’s chick food» argument — they don’t have a diverse menu, but what they offer is top notch!

This is the perfect place to bring your mother, wife, or grandmother. Also very big on baby-showers. Desserts are homemade and the pie changes daily. Most people order the rose garden variety for 10.95 it comes with fresh quiche, chicken salad, a very nice array of fruit, and the soup of the day. Daily specials ranging from fried catfish, homemade chicken pot pie, monte cristo sandwiches and chicken spaghetti and tons of others. Ask for john he’s one of the best servers in Arlington i know him pretty well.
