Hoping to eat there the past few days but it appears to be closed.

First of all, the place is suffering from an identity crisis: is it a bar or is it a diner? I’m not sure, but neither concept is working. There’s a lot of dime smart, dollar stupid shenanigans going on here, like limited water pressure in the bathroom sinks and clearly frozen foods. Whatever. Flies in both the restrooms and the dining area, in October… maybe just a bad day. Sticky menus? There’s a lot of(pre-packaged) syrup all around. Undercooked eggs? It happens. Both a hair and an eyelash on just my plate alone?(I’m running out of excuses for them). What set me over the edge was them trying to deduct only the food cost of one egg($ 0.75) from the bill when I complained(because«the hairs were only on the egg»). I felt sick that I’d even drank some soda from a glass in there, let alone that I had to barter with the manager to pay for the spoiled food that not one of the three of us wished to eat and nobody on staff seemed to even care. They took my dish off, but I’ll never go back. Ever.

My husband and I had a late dinner here last night. I waited for about 5 minutes before anyone would seat me. While I continued to wait for my husband at the table(another 5 minutes) no one approached the table to even take a drink order. The table was sticky and there was a plate with a smashed, but not open, container of syrup on the table. My husband ordered a personal pizza, which he used to enjoy here when it was Dany’s Diner. I ordered corned beef hash with eggs, homefries, and toast. The food took about 45 minutes and when it arrived, the pizza dough was not cooked. My corned beef hash barely had any flavor and the homefries were beyond bland. My husband sent the pizza back to the kitchen. After his pizza and my bland food, he opted not to order anything else. When it came time to pay, the manager/hostess did not know how to remove the pizza from our check. One of the wait staff had to come over and help her. She then made us promise numerous times to come back and give them another chance. Honestly, since its under new management, I would have given them that chance, but after making us promise numerous times, it made me never want to walk through the door again!

Run! Don’t walk! Away! As far away as you can get! I didn’t even get to the food and had to leave. And bring your own hand sanitizer. Avoid the restroom at all costs.

I walked in for breakfast and no one was hosting. Three waitresses watched me stand there and wait to be seated. There were open tables everywhere and they knew I was there to be seated, but they ignored me. Five customers came up to pay for their meals and there was no one to ring them up. Some contemplated leaving money in the counter and walking out. I was still standing there waiting to be seated. One waitress sauntered over and the other customers ushered me to go first, since I was waiting there for eternity. I told the waitress I am ready to be seated and she told me to «hold on» and she began ringing up the other customers. I finally just walked over to one of the other waitresses and told her to seat me. After that frustrating experience, the eggs were bland, half of the hashbrowns were way undercooked, the other half were burnt to a crisp, and the bread was rubbery. My waitress was amiable, and I was happy she left me alone(I don’t like over-attentive servers). When I went to pay, there was no one hosting and the customer in front of me was irate. She mentioned she had been waiting there 20 minutes to pay. After someone finally showed up, they were having trouble with their computers, but I got out of there quickly. That’s my experience. Their customer service is a disorganized mess and my breakfast meal was blah.

I don’t have the time or inclination to describe all the problems with my last visit there. The service has consistently gotten worse with every visit. This time it was beyond terrible and the food was awful. If you’re looking for diner food you are better off looking elsewhere.

This place is the absolute worst. We have been twice. Breakfast was not horrible, so we tried dinner. Now I get embarrassed when we even drive by here. Special was prime rib. I love prime rib, so that’s what I ordered. Prime rib is usually pink and tender. What came out was so overcooked, like a very well-done piece of poor quality steak. I sent it back, and the waitress indignantly told me «that’s how the chef cooks it here.» Well, he does it wrong. And we won’t be back. Disgraceful.

I have tried on several occasions to give this place a shot… and every time I do I regret it. The food is horrible and the tableware that you’re served on is pure garbage. The utensils are grungy, but the worst is really the bland, bland food. I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelet and the hash browns were just pathetic. Burned in some area’s barely touched by heat in others. A pale, burned serving of potatos. The omelet was rubbery and greasy… and the cheese inside hadn’t even melted. I complained to the waitress who took it back to the kithen and came back five minutes later with the same omelet which was greasier than ever. I guess they just threw it back on the grill for a few moments. I couldn’t finish it and as I left I promised myself that would be the last time I darkened their door step. Someone said Kitchen Nightmares needs to come in… and I couldn’t agree more.

Don’t ask me why, but something told me to give this place one more chance this past week. Maybe I just don’t want to believe that a place I used to like fell so dramatically. When I showed up for lunch, there were about 20 customers in the place. Not a full house, but not empty. I mean, people are coming here, so they must be doing something right. Right? Right? I mean, even though the name has changed to Dany’s(a fact I have submitted to Unilocal to change), it is the same management as before. So, in giving them another chance, I decided to order something I know I have enjoyed one time in the past when they were just Paoli Diner. And given that the ownership is Greek, I figured this would be a specialty. So it was the Greek Trio for lunch for me, portions of Pastitsio, Moussaka, and Spanakopita. If they can’t get this right, then for shame I say. It started off with a cup of chicken noodle soup. I’d call it average at best. Nothing of note in my mind. Well, they still had the main event to make up for it. When I received my food, I knew there was something not right. If you’ve ever had good Spanakopita, you know that it is supposed to be flaky, not soggy. Gang, not only was this Spanakopita soggy beyond belief, there was so little pastry topping I could actually see the spinach through the pastry. They used so little pastry on the top, that it was nearly transparent, and on top of that, very little pastry inside and on the bottom. It’s like they didn’t even try to make it properly. This is not good at all. Not even a little bit. The Moussaka and Pastitsio were both passable. But the sauce tasted more like Italian pasta sauce, and the fillings had hardly any flavoring to them. I barely tasted the Spanikopita, and the spinach tasted like it had some flavor. But the sogginess was a serious letdown. No gang, they didn’t pass the Greek Trio test. That’s sad. I gave it two stars this time around because it was actually a little better than the last meal I had here last year which was embarassingly bad, but it’s now painfully obvious to me. It’s not just that they’re not doing things right, I don’t even think they’re trying to get better.

This place is bad. Don’t go. I was served a Greek salad with rotten tomatoes and some sad looking chicken. The service poor. No one seemed to really feel responsible for the terrible food quality.

We got a breakfast wrap and a roast beef wrap. Both were tasteless. The tortillas used were cold and flabby. It would have been better if the wrap had been toasted for a couple minutes in the oven before serving. The wraps needed flavor and maybe a sause would have helped. I got a sense that there is no chef in the back cooking, only cooks who don’t taste the menu. Aside from the taste, the plate used to present the breakfast wrap was not clean. It had cooked cheese still stuck on it. I also found a plastic round piece in my potatos. It told me that the kitchen is sloppy and doesn’t care.

I returned here for the first time in over a year — now Dany’s but the same owners, I stopped going because my order was delayed due to staffing problems — and when it finally reached the table, I sent it back because it was truly gross looking, even the owner agreed. I was not charged for my meal but was for my guests(everything should had been comped). So, I thought I would try it again. Bad decision, because again, it took forever to be served and the food was less than stellar. It is unfortunate because the wait staff is friendly and the location is great.

Very nice place for Breakfast. I had an egg white omelette cooked to perfection. Service was great. Would come back.

Not a great stop when you consider all of the other choices with a 5 – 10 minute drive of where this place is located. Go here if you want kid-friendly, cheap, and flat-flavored food. Don’t go here if you want anything else. By that I mean attentive service, decent food, and a clean atmosphere. I recommend Classic Diner instead.

This is quite possibly the worst diner on the Main Line and I’m not usually one to use superlatives. My roast turkey platter was missing the gravy and the meat itself was dry and lacking in any semblance of flavor. I also tried the hash browns, which resembled frozen chopped potatoes, and farmer’s omelette, which had maybe a few pieces of sausage, veggies, and cheese. Um, if we had wanted plain scrambled eggs, we would have ordered those instead. Service was very brisk and I really wanted to ask our waiter if he was channeling the Man in the Iron Mask because his face was so expressionless. Go to Minella’s, Nudy’s, or Classic for good food and service.

Sometimes you revisit a restaurant you’ve been often and can just sense it’s imminent demise. I recently stopped into the Paoli Diner for breakfast and I was left with the impression that its days are numbered. This was never a place I’d go to for anything but breakfast. An opinion several reviewers appear to share. But on my recent trip-even breakfast was horrible. I mean really, pancakes with caramel(i.e. high fructose corn syrup faux caramel) ice-cream topping and bananas as a new menu item? My two eggs seemed to have been harvested from a severely anemic chicken, the home fries dusty dry. I mean, how can you make eggs and home fries taste bad? Well the cooks at Paoli Diner have figured out a way. On Sunday, this place used to be hopping. But during my Sun. AM visit there, you could have heard the crickets chirping. Should be out of business very soon. Simply being Greek doesn’t guarantee a successful diner!

Disappointing, terrible, crap… i don’t know what else i can really say. We just finished up eating here and i was so excited to go home and write this review while everything is in my mind. We should have been like the others in line and left and went to Minellas. This place is horrible. The décor is nice, and they try to make it a sports bar but its a diner… i wouldn’t go here for a few drinks… you go here for breakfast and for fried things. Where do i begin. On a normal Thursday morning we had to wait 10 minutes for a table while there were PLENTY of them clean and open! When questioned was told they were full. Next we went in and sat down and we ordered fairly quickly from waitress A(never to be seen from again). We get our drinks from waitress B who gives us ice tea with soap in it. Tasted like they either didn’t wash out the cup properly or the ice tea had hand soap in it. We return it to get another non-ice drink diet Pepsi and they proceed to give us something that was diet soda but tasted like root beer. I get my bacon and cheese omelet without the bacon… and my wife’s french toast had a hair on it from waitress C. We should have just left at this point but we didn’t. We returned the French toast and I’m sure they just took the hair off of it and returned it to us but the damage was done. We left and assured that we would never go back AND we didn’t tip. Nether waitress A, B or C were worthy of my money and in fact I’m lucky i even paid for the meal. With so many diners in the area and with so many places to get food… please i beg of you go elsewhere and move along as there is nothing to see here.

Paoli Diner gets another star from me. My friends and I came in on a Saturday night and got seated right away. About a minute after we sat down, a HUGE group of high school kids came in and were seated right next to us. Needless to say, it was hard to have a conversation and we wanted to move asap. We asked the waitress if we could move to another booth, and god bless her, she moved us over to a nice quiet corner. Extra star from me!

Paoli diner is like eating at my Grandmom’s house, God rest her soul, you can eat anything you can think of, but very little of it is actually very good. First time I went it was after a massive night of ingesting large quantities of alcohol… it was 2:30pm and i was in the mood for food. You would think at this point I was properly motivated to enjoy anything that was edible and I didn’t have to make. Normally you would be correct. I ordered breakfast and it was serviceable but not great. The eggs were over cooked, the pancakes were dry and the hash browns were not crispy enough. My companion had a similarly decent meal. The next time… well…lets cut the pleasantries… I was hungover again. I was served a very good veal piccatta. Can’t complain about it. The mash potatoes were slightly gluey… but no worse than any other diner. Over the next few weeks i went back for various reasons for dinner. Decent chicken croquets, adequate chicken parm, fairly good cheeseburger. Nothing was awful, but nothing was really great. I have been to much better diners who take more pride in their food. If the Paoli Diner wants to stay in business it needs to step it up a notch. I don’t see myself going back, no matter how close it is to where i buy beer.
