We went to the Sunday buffet. They get 5 stars for service. but 2 stars for options on the buffet and only 1 star for taste. Fried chicken was okay but not life changing like some of the reviews state. They don’t serve pop here. After the first round most of the food needed to be refilled and they ran out of friend chicken and substituted meatloaf. The potatoes were no good and nothing really tasted spectacular. The gentleman who waited on us was great though. he was apologetic, very concerned, and great with refills and explaining the restaurant and everything. Price is only $ 9 and considering we were out in a small town, it wasn’t bad just nothing I would go back to. choices were very limited and most things were bland.

after a disappointing day at the spa at french lick, we needed a great lunch to save the day. there were a few options, but i REALLY wanted to try this place. upon arriving in paoli(pronounced pay-o-lee…gotta love indiana), a portion of the town square had been burned out in a fire. i was borderline depressed, fearing that the mineral springs had been in the portion decimated by flames. but, thankfully, this spot was nestled away(with NOSIGN) nearby. be aware that there is no way to know where this is… look hard… it’s a GEM!!! the place is located in an old hotel and is… well, frightening, when you first enter. very run down looking and VERY small town. there are random tables with no distinctive decorative touch anywhere. on sunday, there is a buffet. although small, the buffet is AMAZING! it’s down home, tasty awesomeness. a mix of veggies(including some great collard greens), meatloaf(srsly, not my favorite thing, but this changed my whole opinion on meatloaf) and THEBESTFRIEDCHICKEN i’ve had since my great grandmother passed. it was LIFECHANGING! and then there was dessert. there was banana pudding(homemade), some AAAAAAAAMAZING brownies(super rich) and what i can only describe as orgasmic berry cobbler. i live in hope that i will one day eat this cobbler again. it was lovely. if you get the chance to pass thru this little town, stop in and eat here… it is awesome!
