We recently spent a weekend in Glenwood Springs and decided to go exploring in a corner of the state we had not been through before. We found ourselves in Paonia at lunch time and stopped to get gas and some advice on where to eat. Two different people recommended The Diner, so we headed downtown. The homemade fries were just the way I like them, and my mushroom swiss burger was delicious. My fiancé got the jalapeño cream cheese burger and said it had a good clean flavor. We both liked that the food was honest and uncomplicated, which is so hard to find in the myriad of chain restaurants everywhere. I really wanted to order one of the delicious looking milkshakes I saw others enjoying, but I was trying not to go overboard on the calories. Next time…

I go here whenever I can. The food is great, prices are even better for the quality you get, all the staff is very friendly and quick, food comes out fresh, hot and in a good amount of time. I love how relaxed the atmosphere is, they are very child friendly which is hard to find these days with so many people being offended about anything anymore. Only thing Id change is they are only open until 2 pm :-(

Friendly staff, superb service, and excellent food. Spotlessly clean. These folks know how to run a restaurant!

Great breakfast! If I could spell Rancho Heuveros, I’d say it was about the best. And best of all, when the waitress came over, the first thing she said to 3 bikers? «Separate checks?“to 3 motorcycle guys.

While walking around town, we decided to jump into the diner for a late lunch. Turns out it was 30 minutes until closing. Despite that, our server eagerly encouraged us to stay, and even asked if we wanted dessert. Honest portions of good heathy food make this place a winner. We heart Paonia, and we’ll return to the Diner on our next visit.
