For People Who Care About the West
The High Country News is a twice-​monthly magazine published in Paonia, Colorado that primarily focuses on public policy, environmental issues, and culture in the Western United States. It was founded 40 years ago in Wyoming by rancher and environmentalist, Tom Bell.
I’m a fairly new subscriber and am still in the courtship stage regarding my sustainability as a regular reader. I originally signed up because I enjoyed the articles in a loose copy I picked up «somewhere», and figured that I needed to read up before I headed to Durango for an Earthwatch trip in September. So far so good.
