D Rocks isn’t quite the guitar shop it used to be. Once upon a time you could go here to check out some seriously killer guitars, both new and old. Plus one of the best guitar techs in the region set up his shop here for years. This was your classic guitar shop full of local industry vets who could cater to both guitar aficionados and newbs alike. All that’s changed now. For the most part, the D Rocks of 2015 is a showroom for brand new players. Now, there isn’t anything wrong with that, but as someone who’s been playing for nearly 15 years, I don’t want to spend my time looking at cheap-o guitars and basses at prices that are a bit on the high side. I mean there was not one quality guitar in the showroom. Not even at the very, very least a single American made Gibson or Fender. I mean a few of the offerings would make a fine first guitar for someone, but even so it’s always nice to be able to pick up both a quality guitar and a cheap one to just feel the differences. D Rocks does have a decent selection of quality pedals and is a good spot to grab some strings and picks if in you’re in the area. They even had Vandoren clarinet reeds, hey hey! Still, D Rocks is a great place for music lessons. And that is something super important for the local music community as a whole now and forever going forward. I wouldn’t be half the musician I am today(probably not saying much) without all the amazing teachers I’ve had over the years. Go here for guitar lessons and miscellaneous musical instrument accessories. If you’re looking to buy a decent guitar, you’re in the wrong place.

This place has a decent selection of guitars. I used to come down here with friends to jam on their guitars, the back room is(or at least used to be?) set up for it. This is a cool place in downtown papio(about the only thing there haha). Check it out if you’re in the area.
