At the beginning of the mowing season, I couldn’t get my mower started. So I stayed local and supported my local mower mechanic… and suffered from that! The single mechanic/owner had quite a backlog of mowers to fix, so he told me it would take a «week or two.» I was OK with that, but was hoping for a week anyway. A week later he tells me that he may not get to it before he goes on vacation. Doh! I grumble and he says he will try. So I finally get it the day before he is leaving and I paid the expected $ 100-ish bill. When I asked what was wrong, he tells me he just tuned it up and it worked. Really? A $ 100 tune up to fix a mower that didn’t start? I got a hand-written slip that I couldn’t read and got to load the mower myself back into my truck. Thanks buddy! He still gets two stars because it works nicely now, so he did fix it!
