Stopped in there last night looking for a specific product. The store was empty, and there was very little staff. I came across a nice young man and after describing the product I was looking for directed me to the front of the store. I was simply looking for a signature stamp. I get to the front and the girl was incredibly rude. I explained to her that a co-worker told me that I can get a signature stamp here and it was my first time buying one. After looking at me like I had two heads, she finally caught on to what I was looking for… a signature stamp. I asked her the prices first before creating one and she said she didn’t know. Ok. So I said«I may be in the wrong place, I might need to be at Office Depot.» She said«We are now Office Depot, unfortunately.» I left and will order off of vistaprint. Take note people in charge… this is why your store is empty.

I bought a rather expensive chair from this OfficeMax and the salesman talked me into buying an extended warranty. The salesman and the cover of the brochure claimed it covered every conceivable problem. Despite this supposedly being a heavy-duty chair, just slightly over a year after I bought it(after the manufacturer’s warranty expired), the welds holding the chair together started to fail, making the chair dangerous to use. I called the number on the extended warranty brochure only to find out the warranty was useless. Although the front of the brochure said it covered everything, it was only when you started reading through tons of legalese printed in near microscopic print that you discover the warranty only covers the upholstery, nothing else. The store wouldn’t make good on the warranty either. So they not only sold me an expensive chair that was junk, but they LIED to sell me a useless extended warranty. As for office supplies, they’re mediocre. Their selection is smaller than the other two big office supply chains and their prices are generally a wee bit higher. So for pens and paper, they’re OK. Just take anything their salespeople say with a grain of salt.
