I’ve eaten here for years; at both this location and the one in the Old Market. Usually the food is good, abundant, and a very large menu to select from. However, they decided to cheat me out of a piece of fried chicken tonight. Seriously. I don’t really care too much, but when I asked(not complaining) they told me the manager just didn’t care whether I wanted my chicken. Well, I don’t care either and there are plenty of places to take my business to, so goodbye Wheatfields.

Seriously love this place!!! Anytime we have family in town we always bring them here for brunch on the weekend! Dad’s biscuits is one of my favorite dishes! Salty but is LOTS of food… Easily be shared between two people or plenty for leftovers later. Great hangover dish every place needs one of those!

This place should be shut down. If you receive raw or undercooked food TAKE A PICTURE of it to report them to public health. I did not so no action could be taken. I ordered the fried chicken and meatloaf. After I gave my daughter a leg and she was done with it, I noticed the other piece on my plate, the breast, was raw inside and had a pool of blood under it.(My daughter did not end up getting food poisoning probably because the leg was a smaller piece). I complained to the waiter who got the manager. The best she could do was not charge me for the chicken. Ok. Later after stewing over how it was handled I called them and asked to talk to an owner. The manager called me back and said they would give us a $ 20 gift card. I live 400 miles away and was expected to pick it up. Do not go to this place. If you receive raw food take a picture and send it to the local public health department. I wish I would have so this place would no longer be in business. You have been warned. Look at the other one stars and make up your mind for yourself.

Vomit! I swear the deserts that were served to us had been on display for centuries. I went with my family(6) and we all ordered different desserts, and every single one of them were disgusting! Hard, dry & stale.

Just avoid this place. The good, large menu, several items are very good. The bad, high prices, many so so items. The really bad, the menu is misleading and management sub par. Mom ordered a Mother Earth sandwich on a butter bun. A smaller sandwich, since she wasn’t hungry. It came missing most ingredients. When pointed out, the manager, said of course it is missing most of the ingredients, it is cheaper. He offered to get the larger sandwich, but would have to charge for both. He said it should be obvious the sandwich has fewer ingredients, since it is cheaper, even though this detail was missed on the menu.

I wasn’t impressed with the look of the place when we first entered — it looked like many home-grown generic restaurants, although the German accents are cute. The menu’s are fairly large and center around their large bakery. There is a good selection of food, from sandwiches & wraps to breakfast and seafood. I had the fish & chips — fried cod and fries. I swear it was the best cod I have *ever* had. The bakery is nice too and there’s a fairly wide selection of desserts, breads, pies, and other goodies. You generally get up and find something from the bakery if you want to eat it in and of course, there’s always take-out ;-) Nice place and I’m sure I’ll go back!

Service wasn’t great today for one and for two they have raised their prices! $ 7.99 for a kids menu item! And it doesn’t include a drink or side! I thought they were pricey before, but at least it included a drink! All items are $ 2 more! I had a $ 31 lunch bill for my daughter and I and that was before tip! They charged me $ 3 for a kids milk! Holy smokes I was mad!!! Just a heads up… they are overpriced! It’s a shame too… no other restaurants you can walk to in shadow lake… won’t surprise me if they are the next to close!

Good food, horrible service. Who is in charge here? Waited for a table/server for about 15 minutes when there were servers just standing around. Finally just seated ourselves and just ordered at the counter. Then got a waitress who loudly complained that there were no tables open when I saw at least five open just around us. There are currently eight people standing at the counter just waiting to be helped as three employees are socializing. Again, who is in charge of the service?

We used to enjoy brunch here but had a few bad service experiences. Wanting to give them another chance, I called to inquire about their menu and dietary questions. The manager informed me that«the customer should know what’s restricted, not the staff, and we can’t know what’s vegan. But for gluten free, we can do things like leave off the hollandaise…» Really? It’s been a while since I made hollandaise but I’ve never used flour… We likely will not be back unless they make some serious changes and educate managers/staff.

My first negative review :(I am from California and haven’t seen my parents in a long time so we figured to go here to catch up for lunch. The waitress wasn’t around much and both orders came out wrong. We only sent one back, and only because one of the ingredients was an allergy issue(otherwise we would eat through it). Long story short, the dish had to go back three times(never had this happened to me). Not even an I’m sorry from anyone. I did try to lighten the moment and laughed with the waitress and asked«please don’t let the chef spit in this». After a good chuckle, my now correct order came back with a short, thick hair(pick below). We ended up paying full price for the ticket, as the young manager told us it was our fault. Thanks wheatfields: D

I had the crab benedict and it was the bomb. The cinnamon roll was amazing as well. #goodthingscomefromsysco

Worst service ever. Waited at least 10 – 12 minutes just to be noticed after being seated. Then a whole 50 minutes till we got our food. My wife’s order was wrong, her drink tasted like dish soap, and our server stopped over maybe 2 twice during the whole thing. The manager had to back him up. Then we waited almost another 20 minutes just to pay. It’s a shame too because the food is always good. However good food is always tainted by sour service…

Everything is amazing. If you don’t enjoy this place then you are the anti-Christ. Seriously, each time that you go, get yourself a muffin and a big iced cinnamon as an appetizer to your breakfast. You can’t go wrong with this place!

Have only had their breakfast food, highly recommend the«5am French farmer!» I have been to the wheatfields downtown, that one doesn’t have hash browns! What the heck? Anyways, this one does, also the service is way better. The manager(name is Jim) always comes when you’re close to the end of your meal and asks how everything is. Old fashioned, but I love that he does that. Service has almost always been great as well. People there have always been very pleasant.

I have been coming here since the location opened. I’ve brought business associates, had family parties, and many early — morning breakfasts with my mom and dad… so, I was TRULYDISAPPOINTED by the horrible food we had today. The scrambled egg whites were hot, but very greasy, as were the hash browns, which my husband said were the worst he’d ever tasted. When we asked the server for new, better ones, she came back from the kitchen and reported, «they said there’s nothing they can do about the hash browns… sorry!» Really? I know it’s a little thing… but, if you don’t respect the feedback a of a longtime customer, then that is a symptom of a larger issue. Bottom line… super-expensive food that was horrible.

I dig this place. They have breakfast all day. The menu is super-huge and that’s nice for people with special needs. There are approximately 812 vegetarian items on the menu(or something like that). The veggie burger is a homemade patty with a lot of grains(instead of veggies and legumes) and so it falls apart, but that’s alright if you’re ok with looking like an animal while you eat. :) The bun it comes on is super-good too. I’ve had the following butterbuns: deviled egg salad, fried egg, and cheesy eggplant. They’re all ok, but with a menu that huge, don’t stick with something that’s just ok. The Mother Earth Veggie Wrap is a good choice, but the breakfasts are a better choice. I hear from the hubs that the fried chicken is amazing. They used to have the most amazing sandwich in the world: the Mr. Green Jeans. I make it at home now that Wheatfields got rid of it!(Marble bread, pesto, grilled asparagus, munster cheese, broiled & served open-faced with a tomato on top. Heaven. You should make it, too.) Thank you for the inspiration, Wheatfields! Be warned: the Russian hashbrowns are hashbrowns with sour cream on them(blech!). One more thing: Wheatfields, what’s up with the teeny tiny glasses? Super-annoying. And I bet it’s even more annoying to the servers!

Wheatfields, as far as brunch goes, never disappoints. They always have seasonal specials, which are quite difficult to pass up, and to be honest are usually worth the try. They are one of the few places that are offer a decent breakfast/brunch menu in the Bellevue/Papillion area that allow for alcoholic beverages during brunch(bloody mary’s for a Saturday late morning starter? yes please!). If you come later in the morning will say I’ve run into the problem, more often than not that they become awkwardly out of their seasonal specials for the day– so get on it and get there before 10am if you are truly interested in that. In the later summer, I recommend their Peach Flings, thank me later :) Their service used to be hit or miss, but I would say in the last 6 months(June 2013 onward) I’ve never experienced a bad time/super slow service. I think it’s something they have definitely improved on lately, and it has made a difference. Wheatfields is a «go to» for a lazy Saturday morning brunch spot, a yummy mimosa and meal where I’m not counting calories… cuz damn they love to put hollandaise on everything it seams like, which isn’t always a good thing for the waistline. Also of note, salads are tasty and their deserts are simply wonderful.

Their food is standard midwest(or great plains for you geography snobs) comfort food. It’s heavy on the proteins and starches(and rich sauces/gravies) and thus also heavy on the calories. So, someone who prefers their food a little heavier on the veggies and lighter on the calories will find most of the menu not to their liking. If you’re usually found ordering a vegan entrée at your favorite Thai restaurant, then you’re probably not going to be impressed with Wheatfields. However, if you’re someone who enjoys a «meat and potatoes» kind of diet and you’re willing to pay a bit more to have more variety and food that is made from scratch more than is typical, then this is your place. I also enjoy their baked goods. Their Caramel Pecan Rolls are amazing. I rarely have room in tummy after eating here to enjoy their baked goods, but I make it a point to get some to go to enjoy later. Service has always been friendly. At worst, they’re sometimes stretched a bit thin, but that is more a reflection of the restaurant’s ownership(skimping on their labor cost) and the local labor market. The wait staff has always been friendly and I’m a guy that likes to «bust their chops» and mess around with my servers and they all take it in good humor. I was pleased when Shadow Lake Towne Center opened and I heard a Wheatfields was coming to Sarpy County. Previously, you had to drive to One Pacific Place to enjoy Wheatfields and that was never convenient for me. So, bravo on the Sarpy County location!

I continue to go back and forth on Wheatfields. And I will say that location definitely seems to make a difference… the downtown one I’m still okay with but I don’t think I’ll be back to this or the west one. Bill and I ordered a benedict(I forget the actual name) with steak and pesto… perhaps too bold of a move for Wheatfields, but I wasn’t too hungry and we were splitting it. Turns out the flank steak or whatever showed up was not a smart choice as it was way too chewy compared to the eggs and muffin that accompanied it. Also, pesto and hollandaise do not seem to be on good terms with one another.
