Ok first off I must point out that Frank’s is in Des Allemands not Paradis. I’ve lived in Des Allemands most of my life and never enjoyed going to this place. It’s dirty, dark and frequented but shady characters. I’ve only recently become a lover of bloody marys. I’ve heard time and time again that this is the place to go. I was passing by last night and decided to give it a try. As usual the people inside looked a bit shady. I decide to get my drink to go. There was a sign saying their base changed for their bloody mary. I’m thinking to myself, that figures! I got one anyways. Omg!!! I’ve had many bloody marys over the past year and at Unilocal’s bloody mary event, nit this was by far the best! No fancy bacon vodka or smoked ribs, but the perfect seasoning and flavors. Simply garnished with olives, green beans and celery. I don’t believe I will ever sit down and hangout at this bar(which is why I only give it 3 stars) but I’ll definitely get one to go again!

Small place. Came for the World Famous Bloody Mary’s and not being a huge Bloody Mary fan, I have to say, they’re great! Just a little spice with a bunch of kinds of garnishes. Green olives, celery, and a pickled green bean! Yum!!!

I’ve passed this place on the way to New Orleans so many times and was excited to FINALLY stop on the way to a Saints game to get a «World Famous Bloody Mary». Unfortunately it may be the one and only time I stop at Franks. It was a Saints game Sunday, so finding a LONG line at both the bar and the bloody mary table was to be expected. However, I was surprised that at both stations the bloody marys were being mixed by hand one at a time. I don’t know if this was intended to give the impression of fine drink craftsmanship, but it did NOT appear to be some masterful recipe being mixed with the utmost of care, but rather a shake of this, a shake of that, and a pour of this and pour of that. It was more like a rushed process, that was still pretty slow in the grand scheme of things. I really was shocked that the stuff wasn’t pre-mixed and only waiting on the addition of your alcohol of choice. I’m pretty sure I saw a number of people open the front door, see the lines, and leave. I waited patiently in the bloody mary table line, but my friends at the regular bar line got served first, so I jumped out and had them grab one for me. Finally it was time for the big payoff and… yuck. I don’t know how to describe it, but it just wasn’t that good. I know bloody marys are definitely the kind of drink that people are very particular about and this one just did not do it for me. Maybe I should have gotten better booze? Maybe I should have stayed at the bloody mary station? Who knows? Either way, I was dissappointed.

We’re staying in the area with my husbands job and Franks is the closest bar. It’s an old and dark bar but you’ll always find a few locals hanging out waiting to talk. Good people with good stories. They have a pool table and just got a new jukebox. For it to be such a small bar they have a very nice selection of drinks and of course the«world famous» bloody mary. We’ve been many times now… stop in and check it out. Bet you’ll go back :)

Dive bar in the middle of the highway. They have legit bloody marry’s. The prices are inexpensive(compared to the prices in San Diego). I would go back if I were ever in Louisiana.

If you been to a boat launch that has a bar also, well then you kinda been to this place already. It is a dive bar but without the coolness. Kinda cheesy, but good. Odd building construction, different shapes. Dark and dated atmosphere. But good. Franks, known for the worlds best bloody marys, well, they are ok. They have a bunch of different vodka offerings to make it your own, but a standard bloody mary isnt a WOW kinda thing. They have PBR. You can smoke inside. Its near a very good Catfish restaruant. Its out of the way. If your on a bike ride or VW cruise, its a good stop, drop in real quick for a cold one. I took a few pics to help. Not the worlds best bloody marys, but good. The bartender was good.
