I typically love this place, but tonight they were terrible. We waited ten minutes to order, then twenty to receive a drink. In that time our appetizer arrived, we ate and it was cleared. Not at all what you expect from a place like this and turned a personal favorite into a maybe never visit again.

Love this place! My boyfriend & I stayed in the Sanctuary over night & before dinner we had a drink at Jade Bar. The staff was very friendly & gave us some good recommendations for later in the evening(since we were visiting AZ). Special thanks to Denise Hail for your hospitality & great taste. Their cocktails were delicious & they seem to actually care about the craft of «mixology». Being Vegas bartenders my BF& I really pay attention to detail in a bar/restaurant setting. Not only were the drinks & employees amazing but the venue itself is to die for. It’s very dark & intimate at night & the beautiful scenery topped with a mimosa(fresh squeeze OJ& all) make the sting of a killer hangover a hell of a lot easier.

Jade Bar located in the Sanctuary Hotel in Paradise Valley was perfect for an afternoon drink. It’s a nice hideaway that I think many locals frequent. It wasn’t very busy. There were maybe a total of six people enjoying a mid-afternoon drink. They had a wide selection from beer to Pimm’s Cup to Peach Bellini. There is something for everyone. I ordered the Peach Bellini, which was a perfect balance of champagne and peach purée. My friends were raving about the fresh homemade chips and onion dip. I didn’t understand the hype on the dip but I was happy just snacking on the chips. We had a great view of the outside lawn area where a wedding party taking photos. The grounds were so beautiful; I can understand why they were willing to stand in 90+ degree temps wearing full suits, suspenders and all. Ken, our server, was very attentive and personable. He was even patient when we asked him to split our check four ways(yikes, we were those people). I can see how this place can add up after two or three drinks but if you’re looking for a low-key drink in a gorgeous setting, Jade Bar is your spot. Cheers!

Food is good. Comes from the adjacent Elements kitchen. However, servers are absolutely clueless! Ordered spicy hamachi sashimi and dumplings for the main course. Waited for food forever, then both arrived at the same time. Had to eat sashimi with a fork. Waited for a glass of water to wash it down for a half hour. By then the dumplings were cold and the buttery sauce congealed. All this happening while there were barely two dozen customers. Seriously, people, pay attention!!!

I have been going to Sanctuary and Jade bar for over 10 years now. Ironically, I preferred their bar prior to the remodel. Maybe it has to do something with the fact that I’m not a huge fan of change when it comes to things that are of comfort and feel like home to me. The remodel setting now is bigger, yes; however it’s not as intimate. Their drinks and food are still on point. One negative is that they no longer give you a little dish of their wasabi peas for free to snack on. I asked for some the last time I was here and when I got my bill, I noticed that there was a $ 4 charge for just 1 small ramekin of them! That’s pretty absurd to me. On a side note, Beau McMillan is an amazing chef. Being an Iron Chef champion, his dishes never fail to please. By far the best cocktail to order here is their cantaloupe martini! Not super sweet and perfectly refreshing. Also, this is the best place in the valley to get a view of the most amazingly breathtaking sunset in the valley.

Very nice ambience! Gorgeous seating and delicious cocktails, they could use a couple more small plates/appetizers for people not looking to eat a meal. Highly recommended, very intimate. A bit loud but great music. Have a hurricane cocktail!

Simply the best sunset in the Phoenix area. Gorgeous place, inside and out. We’ll be back. Service made it all the better.

After a few good cocktails(albeit none too noteworthy) I started chatting up the server about drink things, which he pleasantly confessed were not his specialty. He got the bartender over to our table, and we started talking about NoLa and the like. Because it was a slow evening, he said he’d give a Ramos Gin Fizz«the old college try» for me. He actually made me one the right way, and it tasted like nothing I’ve ever had before or since. Some background on why this is dope: Henry C. Ramos invented the Ramos gin fizz in 1888 at his bar, the Imperial Cabinet Saloon on Gravier Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. It was originally called the New Orleans Fizz, and is one of the city’s most famous cocktails. Before Prohibition, the drink’s popularity and exceptionally long 12-minute mixing time[5] had over 20 bartenders working at the Imperial at once making nothing but the Ramos Gin Fizz — and still struggling to keep up with demand. During the carnival of 1915, 32 staff were on at once, just to shake the drink. For funky, creative craft cocktails? Perhaps a more urban venue. But for staff with passion, arm strength, and knowledge about the cocktails of yesteryear? Jade Bar it is.

Horrible customer service! I would’ve given a zero if it was possible. I brought someone who was new to Arizona and spoke highly about Sanctuary and Jade Bar however, was utterly disappointed on this visit. We were ignored in the bar area by all servers who literally were serving guests in front of us and to the side of us. We were trying to make eye contact but was totally snubbed. One of the bus boys actually stopped and gave me a menu. We waited patiently for 15 minutes to get the attention of a server not only did they ignore us, we ordered at the bar and honestly we could have walked out without paying. Just very disappointing experience. And honestly, if you were not blonde nor older, you weren’t served nor greeted.

We have now been here twice and I am in love with their happy hour. Its so reasonably priced and the food is to die for… I mean seriously, you’re getting the same quality as the main restaurant. We had the fries which are my favorite, the edimame which is delish, the black bean hummus(didn’t have any left to share) and the spiced nuts. Between 5 people, we were stuffed perfectly and able to enjoy the scenes and our drinks. I love going here and you can totally make a meal out of their happy hour or their regular menu(which by the way isn’t that pricey but its delicious!!!)

I had an Old Fashioned and the Jade burger. The Old Fashioned was fine. Nothing spectacular about it and nothing bad either. The burger was outstanding. Service was very friendly. I loved the dreamy daytime view and low key crowd in the afternoon.

Awesome view and patio! Delicious cocktails and honestly, for the quality and location, $ 14 is definitely pushing it, but still reasonable. Any higher priced and I would have docked them a star. Appetizers at the car are decently priced, too. Edamame and fries were super yummy

Go here for refinement, probably not experimentation [but maybe]. Great cocktails, impeccable service. Our waiter noticed my girlfriend knew her beverage stuff, and offered to send their bartender out to tell us more. After chatting for five minutes, the bartender then offered to make us a ‘Ramos Gin Fizz’ — a vintage [and off menu] drink that takes 15 minutes to shake — because it was a slow night. Need I say more? If you insist. It was delicious, and having been told the interesting history of the drink, it was all the more an experience. I wouldn’t count on this happening to you, but the general sentiment of attention to detail and sincerity of service are not variables in this equation. And of that equation, expect a large number after the dollar sign.

Jade Bar is like flying first class! This lounge probably has the best view in Scottsdale. The floor to ceiling windows allow you to see the beautiful mountains, and desert landscape. The atmosphere is classy, and usually has a 30 – 40’s+ crowd. I would recommend this place if you’re trying to impress your date, or a business client. The drinks are top-notch! I had the best mojito of my life here. The appetizers are really good as well. I would grade both the food and drinks A+. The place is located inside Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort, which is a little hidden if you don’t know where you’re going. Also, be prepared to valet so don’t forget to bring cash for tips!

This place is great. I have been here a handful of times & never a disappointment! It’s been our«Girls Sunday Tradition» for weeks & we always enjoy ourselves. You definitely can’t go wrong with their popcorn app, edamame app or their lobster mac n’ cheese, DELISH! The wine selection on the HH menu is not the best, but you can always order from their hard wine list(which we always do) Bottles are reasonably priced(most) Outside seating is great, when inside seating is too loud w/the live band. Sunday nights, there is always a live Acoustic Rock group. They are a great cover band, with a few good originals. Complimentary valet-plus TIP is always convenient! This place is our weekly spot!

You’ll find one of the prettiest views in the Valley at Jade Bar, the recently remodeled lounge at Sanctuary Camelback that overlooks Camelback Mountain. At night, the houses dot the mountain with lights, creating a beautiful backdrop to the chic Jade Bar décor. I can only imagine a sunset view is breathtaking. Thanks to Jan Bracamonte of J. Lauren PR for inviting me to try some menu items and some cocktails. There’s always something fun happening at Jade Bar. Every day from 4 – 6 p.m., it hosts«The Pour» happy hour, with draft beer for $ 5, wine for $ 6, and specialty cocktails for $ 8. There’s live music Friday nights from 7 – 10 p.m., and Saturday’s at 1 p.m., there’s a Mixology 101 course($ 30), limited to 10 people that features how to make some of Jade Bar’s signature cocktails. Considering all the signature cocktails are usually $ 14 apiece, head to happy hour to try them for nearly half-off. My favorite was the Pepper Smash #2, with mint, Krogstad Aquavit, fresh lime juice, fresh yellow bell pepper juice, and maple syrup. I don’t think I’ve ever had a drink with fresh yellow bell pepper juice, and this cocktail had a nice spicy kick I loved. Sweet and spicy cocktails are some of my favorites, and this one was garden fresh and tasty. I also tried the Botticelli, with vodka, bitters, fresh lime juice, fresh grapefruit juice, and champagne. This was light and fruity and refreshing, like a dressed-up version of champagne. I was lucky enough to try several of the vegetarian food offerings, too, by chef Beau MacMillan, who hosted Food Network’s ‘Worst Cooks in America.’ Not surprisingly, considering how fancy Jade Bar’s sister restaurant elements is, this was the most upscale bar food I’ve tried — even the chips and onion dip($ 8) had a chic twist, with caramelized onions that gave the dip a sweet flavor I’ve never tasted in onion dip. The black bean and eggplant hummus and pita bread($ 9) was great. The pita bread is baked freshly in-house, and the appetizer also came with a veggie«bento box» full of an array of fresh veggies. Some of the veggies didn’t really make sense for hummus dipping to me(an onion, a cabbage leaf), but the veggies were a cute touch that certainly brightened up the plate. I also tried the edamame($ 5), which, like the chips, was a generous portion. The edamame was as good as any I’ve tried at a sushi restaurant. But the biggest draw at Jade Bar is the ambiance and those views. Jade Bar is full of comfortable seating, with cushy chairs and couches anchored by marble, candlelit tables. The actual bar is huge and also had a big crowd congregating at it. Whether you want to have a romantic date or are in the mood to meet new people, Jade Bar’s warm and bustling atmosphere seemed conducive to either, and the service was outstanding. On New Year’s Eve, Jade Bar will be bringing regular dining tables into the lounge to serve a four-course dinner. Diners with table reservations also get a bottle of Cristal at midnight, and a DJ spins all night with a dance floor. Table reservations start at $ 1,000 for four people, but Jade Bar is also open to the public New Year’s Eve, no reservations required, and with no cover charge. To reserve a spot at Mixology 101, call(480) 607‑2300, and for New Year’s Eve reservations, call(480) 948‑2100. Head to for more details.

The views of Sanctuary Resort & Spa are amazing — I always feel special here. I’m a Wine guy… but a client suggested I try their Mojito. I’m glad he made the recommendation because it was by far the best Mojito I’ve enjoyed. Chips, Wings, sharing of a Burger and fries were all delish! Good company, good wine, great appetizers to match the atmosphere & ambiance — all combined made for a great experience. I can’t wait to return with my Partner and good friends for an enjoyable Happy Hour. Cheers***
