Lake Oroville – Lime Saddle Launch

We were there this past weekend, and the service was amazing. The staff was accommodating to our large party and the rentals were in great condition. The employees there were personable, friendly, and efficient. I was here the same time last year and received the same quality service. Our family will return here for our yearly camping trip. Our trip couldn’t have gone smoother.

I’ve been going out to this lake since I was a kid, and I’m sad to see it turn into such a impersonal, unreasonable experience. The management refused to rent us a boat after walking into the shop less than 10 minutes after the cut off time, (all rentals were sitting in the water) forcing us to jam our party into a crowded boat. Then we proceeded to get interrogated by the sheriff about everything from lifejackets, to a fire extinguisher, alcohol, a working horn (on a brand new ski centurion), until he finally
«got» us for not having a throwable flotation device… excuse us. Pretty sure I haven’t seen anyone use one of those since the titanic. Then he so kindly escorted us back to the marina after forcing us to leave half of our party on the lakeside which we would have to return for. And of course management refused to rent or sell us any throwable devices, including the various ones they had on the rentals decaying in the sun. You’ll be able to find us at Lake Almanor in the future.

Rented a wave runner for ½ day for 225. It was fun. The gas dock was not running so this review is subject to follow up pending if they gouge me on the gas cost.

Five lane boat ramp, picnic benches, clean washrooms, plenty of boat and trailer parking, close to campgrounds.
