The Wine Room

Today is Saturday February 13^th. I was here with a friend about a week ago for the first time in this restaurant, and we enjoyed it very much. There was a complete, and service from Lizzie as our waitress and Krista has our bartender it was superb.
Well, I don’t know what happened in the meantime, but when I got here with another friend tonight half the menu or close to it was not available, the service was slow, and the prices seem to be way out of line for the limited menu, although some of the food is terrific, some of it is only mediocre at best. I gave this place two stars because of tonight’s experience, but if there was half stars I probably would have gone that way, that is two and a half stars… I may not go back here, but if I do and the experience is like it was tonight, it will be my last visit here. And that’s a real shame because this place has real potential but the wine and the food is overpriced, and the service is slow. There was only one waitress, and she spent a lot of her time visiting with friends at another table, I believe her name was Desiree. Right now between the last week’s really good experience and the one tonight which was anything but, I think this place deserves one more visit from me, but if it doesn’t show me something better than it has, I’m afraid it will be my last. However people should make up their own minds, of course.

I have been here many times and love it! The changing wine selection and the ever evolving menu, makes each visit unique. I have not been disappointed yet. Last night French Onion soup and a grilled cheese sandwhich was outstanding. A friend had the fettuccine was loved it! The wait staff are great at finding a great wine for your palate. Go, have fun, the atmosphere is festive, but can be intimate.

We called ahead to make sure hey had good beer on tap because we were bringing some friends from out of town. They listed their beers and then told us they were tapping two more right then.
When we got there, our waitress told us their beer delivery didn’t come so clearly they were not honest with use on the phone. She then told us they had no IPA’s and let us try a couple beers we didn’t like. She even commented saying «our beer selection is not that good right now»
We noticed a lagunitas on the menu and she let us try it. It was clearly an IPA. we looked it up, it was. She clearly didn’t know what she was talking about.
The cook came out of the kitchen and started chatting with the off-​duty staff. He was very loud, obnoxious, and egotistical. Everyone in the place could hear his conversation! He seems like a real tool, sorry to say
Our waitress was friendly but very helpful. She didn’t really know what she was talking about but she tried! She got one star. The other star is for décor.
I’ll try one more time and then I’m swearing off.
Also, she put our IPA in the wrong style glass for an IPA.
Edited to add: just heard cook yell f bomb twice from the back. Watch video of employees screwing around. One waitress walked on and started screeching about her new shirt. The other waitresses were commenting on her boobs and she was so proud her shirt was see through in the back. She literally said «look, you can see my bra» she then continued to show her tramp stamp piercings to her co workers behind the bar. Very tacky and annoying because they were obviously showing it off judging by the volume of their voices!
On my second beer, our waitress asked «is it ok if I just refill this glass?» Of course I don’t care since it is my own germs but I am pretty sure that’s a health code violation since I already drank out of it and they’re pouring from a tap. My guess was they didn’t wanna wash the glass.
Lastly, I asked if their tap menu was online. The waitress just bluntly said, «no.» If you have revolving taps, that’s cool but patrons need an easy way to know what you have without calling. In the days of Facebook you’d think they could two minute post of their tap menu. Lame.

Oh, on the plus side, if you go here and check in on help you get $ 1 off your drink. Out waitress gave us $ 1 off every drink we bought so we save four bucks. Not sure she was supposed to do that but oh well!
