Taco Rio

My 4 star rating is a relative rating, relative to the lack of local selections, and relative to the price. I can’t say The food is «delicious», but I keep coming back, and can fill up on under $ 5. Sometimes less on 60 cent taco or 99 cent taco burger day.
This is NOT «Mexican» food, it’s classic Southern family style Tex-​Mex. Uniquely seasoned mild ground beef filling with a specific slightly sweet taste.
Try Taco Rio at least 3 times. It grows on you.

Food is definitely not flavorful by any means. It’s different and difficult to understand until you try it.
I’ve been about 3 or 4 times and there’s just something about the tacos and the price that keep me coming back. Lol. The tacos are great with hot sauce and sour cream. Without those two things, it is bland to me. I like the sweet sauce that you can request as well.
In the end, I just couldn’t see myself giving Taco Rio more than 3 stars because of the lack of flavor. It’s just a place to get a cheap taco between 2 – 5 (60 cents) Monday through Saturday. They also have different specials on different days. It obviously is good enough to keep me eating here, so they must be doing something right. Try it out. You may be pleasantly surprised with a southern style take on Mexican.

I like to support small town businesses. This is not Mexican at its finest but it’s fair for a «hole in the wall» place to eat. Happy hour is nice for half price tacos from 2 – 5. The taco meat is better than taco bell. It’s supposed to have a famous taco burger. My wife loves this place

If you actually decide to eat here, you’re taking your life in your own hands. The kitchen, which is in plain view, is literally disgusting. I watched a guy sweep up with stuff floating into the air, which of course lands on the food. There is nothing remotely mexican about this place. It’s simply bad food. I came here once when washing clothes for a quick bite and decided I would never walk through the doors again. It’s dirty overall. You’ll do better at Taco Bell.
