I had to get rid of wood, carpet, a sink, closet doors, and a load of other crap. I called the company that controls our trash. They told me that I would have to rent a $ 500 bin for a week because anything smaller would not be able to handle the load. I would’ve tried other companies, but here’s the catch. The city only contracts with this company, which shall remain nameless, and nobody else is even allowed to pick up someones trash… even if you paid them. What do they call this sort of business practice? Oh yeah, A MONOPOLY!!!
For 40 bucks I rented a U haul, threw all the junk into it, drove it to the dump and they got rid of it for $ 63 bucks. (its $ 60 a ton) The place is so cool. You drive up to the window and get weighed on a scale. I guess they figure out how much your truck weighs, then subtract that from the overall weight. The you back into this huge, and I mean huge, carport and throw all your stuff on the ground. No need to be tidy, just toss it. As you work, check out the tractor the size of a small mansion drive like 30 miles an hour and smash all the loads of trash into a corner, BAM! It’s awesome. Then you leave. Done.
This place saved me $ 400 and a week of having a stupid dumpster in front of my house.
