Terrible experience. We bought 1 cord of wood and it was very overpriced however as first time homebuyers we did not realize that at the time.
ALL of the wood delivered was wet and would not burn. We had to argue with Denny and he finally told us he would bring us some additional dry wood (an additional half of what we had originally bought) to last us till summer. Well, they delivered this wood and it was about one sixth of what we had originally ordered. Argued with him again and he agreed to take half the wood back and replace it with «good dry wood». The wood he gave us as a replacement is still wet and does not burn. Do not buy wood from this place!

Ordered garden soil which he said would be delivered at noon a few days later. No delivery came I called after and he said he wouldn’t be able to deliver it his truck broke. (why not call and tell me before that?) Then he said he can do it at 5 that same day. 5 came and went had to track him down and still he didn’t deliver. In addition I had someone take a day off work to help me with this. Would never recommend or use this guy for anything! Worst service ever!

Being new to the area, we had no idea where to get firewood the night before the «blizzard» in case the power went out. We found Denny Wiggers online. I called and spoke to the receptionist (Gayle, I think) and not only did she go out of her way to give me directions, multiple times, but made sure that someone stayed late and helped me, after I got lost, to load the wood in the car. I appreciate them going out of their way late on a Friday night.

Bad news all the way around. Showed up with wet wood that wouldn’t burn. When I finally got through to Denny, he didn’t dispute the fact that the wood was wet, and promised to replace it with kiln dried wood. Never showed up… Lesson learned. I would strongly advise against doing business with this company.

Best place for firewood delivery in NYC!
They don’t overcharge you with the scam-​tastic «city cord» — instead you get a real cord of wood at the real price it should be.
Delivered to Brooklyn too, with an expert guy who was incredibly fast at carrying and stacking wood.

Update: wood was not so dry. But whatever. :)

Denny came through with a beautiful job for my brother’s grave. He’s a very nice guy and I’d give him 5 stars, but I think his staff needs to help him and his crews with organization. Capability 5, Execution 3. Frustrating b/​c of how much follow up I need to get a great result, however I’m really happy with the work.

I ordered sod to self-​install a backyard lawn in Brooklyn, and had a terrific experience with Denny Wiggers! The lady who took my order was super-​nice and helpful, and the delivery guys were, too. I even got a confirmation call when the truck was an hour away — no waiting around all Saturday stuck in a four-​hour delivery window! I got a good price and great sod, and would highly recommend Denny Wiggers.

This is the first time my building came together to purchase wood. What a disaster. The wood we received is not dry and does not burn, a ½ cord worth. After my husband and I called for weeks they delivered kindling.
It’s a shame to see that we aren’t the only ones taken for a ride.
Mr. Wiggens not only lost the opportunity for a regular customer, he lost the opportunity for us to share his name with the 11 other buildings in our complex.

As a garden center Mr Wiggins has some different items-​it is not a full service type of center to get 10 flats of X but if you want to find something different for a change go here. He is a landscape designer (main business) and his projects on his web site are lovely. I have never used him for design but based on his experience he would be on my longer list to check out.
