The store had a great selection of glasses to choose from. More importantly, the staff especially both Melanie and Kim, even though they are short staffed, both of them really took care of their customers, ensuring that they accommodated their specific needs and wants for their purchase.

So… after denying the fact that I needed glasses for years, I finally came to grips with reality. I scheduled an appointment with the optometrist on-site and I was prepared for the worst. What I found was quite different. Everyone I met was extremely helpful and friendly. They helped me figure out my insurance, pick out a decent frame and made the whole process of about 1.5 hours nearly painless. Kim, Angela and Briccio deserve special mention, as does Dr. Nicholas(and his team). Really, they were all just great. Quick tip: go on to the LensCrafters’ site before you go and sign up. You’ll get a $ 50 bonus that you can use – just make sure you print out the coupon and bring it with you. If you get your exam there they had a special for an additional $ 25 off, although that’s only to the end of December, I think. So, if you need glasses, go. In my experience, you’ll be treated right.

It’s very over priced, they admittedly mark up their product by something like 1000%, but I get it you’re supposed to get high quality product quickly and professionally done so you pay a premium. What really upset me was that after spending $ 400 on a new pair of glasses when I went to pick them up I noticed that the screw was broken almost in half and the front of the frame was scratched. Who ever did it had tried to cover up their mistake by filling the scratch with a Sharpie. They are going to replace it but just three fact that they tried to pull that off is unbelievable.

Had an early Sat. morning appointment scheduled here and things were off to a rocky start. The sales employee was very friendly and outgoing, but the nurse/assistant of the optometrist(I’m going to call her«Grumpy Nurse» from now on) was very very rude. Her attitude wasn’t something directed at me specifically, but she seemed like such an unhappy person who really really did not like her job. That being said, this store had TONS of eye testing equipment, I think they ran 6 – 8 different tests using 6 – 8 different pieces of machinery on me. Most of the tests were neutral(although no one really likes the glaucoma test bc the burst of air the machine blows into your eye is pretty strong, but the test I had an issue with was the field mapping test. They made me put on this eye patch, and then Grumpy Nurse told me to put my glasses on over the patch… Was not happening. it’s a rounded/curved eye patch and the glasses wouldn’t fit back on. So… with the most cursory of acts, she selected a random magnifying lens and told me to leave the glasses off and look through it for the exam. Because she forced me to focus through a lens that was not anywhere near where my prescription was, and did not account for astigmatism, the test gave me a HUGE headache to the point where I could barely move. Grumpy Nurse was AWFUL and when I go back here to get my fitting done, I WILL avoid her at all costs. The reason I am willing/happy to come back though, is because the optometrist, Dr. Yu, was really really good. She’s patient, thorough, and always happy to answer questions and explain her reasons for her recommendations and prescriptions. She has a great sense of humor(who doesn’t love an optometrist who laughed at Family Guy’s rendition of «Jafar goes to the optometrist»?) and is very familiar with the costs of specialty contact lens and insurance plans. When I finished my session with the doctor, she handed me to a different nurse/assistant named Rachel to complete the field test. Rachel was very professional and courteous. I’m glad I wasn’t given back to the Grumpy Nurse. Overall a 3.5 star rating: 5 stars for the optometrist Dr. Yu. 1 star for Grumpy Nurse. 4 stars for Rachel, the nurse who took over.
